We Anglophones have been using French words for 900 years. They are very useful.

With Legault, no social justice. Some are pampered with huge salaries financed by the less fortunate. The others, the elderly invalids made invisible, penalized to the bone. Legault postpones the reimbursement of the amounts unfairly cut until January 1, 2025 to extend the retroactivity period which, 2nd injustice, is not refundable. The broke person hasn't gotten his due. Blatant direct and systemic discrimination.

It is sad. I wish there could be more exchange between ebglish speaking canada and Quebec. It would be nice to move forward with a mind to improving the heritage of languages in Vanada, including the native languages. This could be a unifying purpose for the country. ❤

I can't help thinking the best approach to the Youth of your country, is to point out that not using your langauge damages it. That you have centuries of heritage invested in it, that it is a work of art, and that it deserves to be used. That choosing to use English (which is my langauge btw) It's like having a finely tuned beautiful hypercar, and never starting the engine. If they want your language to survive, they need to drive it forwards by creating the new 'cool' words for it and work to get them accepted.

The reason English flourishes is because it is so adaptable. Hundreds of new words popping up all the time. We can and have borrowed from other languages, we can easily slot in select phrases and words from other languages without embarrassment, and we can assemble anything from them instinctively, like lego-bricks. This is all whilst still have all the sturdy fundamentals to build on in place. The French idea of linguistic purity has held it back. It is a beautiful language, but it needs to be allowed to evolve. You won't preserve it by setting it in stone.
