I’d love to see a follow up with Izzy when she has danced on these for a while and , I’m assuming she is still growing, as her weight changes and the sorts of roles she performs change.
Yayyy! Fitting videos again!!!! Please do more of these - I've missed them so! Much !!! Seeing your unique expertise and skill with these is literally something noone else on RUclips social media or really anywhere else on earth has, it's so valuable - and such good safe information for everyone about pointe and pointe shoes xxxx
This was lovely. It's nice getting to see a more sports medicine side to ballet. The way pointe dancing is treated reminds me a lot of equestrian, with how intensely you care for the feet and ankles.
I LOVE that you are working with the dancer to be sure that she is comfortable and safe. When I was in ballet (1970's 1980's) that wasn't the case. My fav teacher used to drive over her box shoes to "break them in"!
The fitting videos are really my favorites ! I have a question though. How do teachers and parents feel when you recommend two different pointe shoes for each feet ? I understand that it is for the best for the dancer but it means you sell two pair of pointe shoes instead of one, and I wonder if dance teachers are openminded enough.
Just curious, if you wear a different model shoe on each foot...are shoes sold in pairs or can you just buy one shoe of each model to make your own pair? I guess if you have to buy 2 pairs, you are good to go when you need your next pair.
I would be curious to know if she finds balancing an arabesque or performing pirouettes or fouettés is more challenging, or totally no big deal with the new tapered box.
you are doing something wonderful for these dancers - the less damage they can do to their ravaged feet the better... such sacrifice on their part for such beautiful expression
Do you do pointe shoe fitting for people with big feet? How high can you go to? I don’t do ballet, but I wonder theoretically, I am a size 8.5-9 (which I think is a US 9.5-10 or an EU 43)
I have a very boxy foot and CAN'T find a shoe I like! Nutcracker is coming up and I need a shoe. I sink in a boxy shoe and in a tapered shoe it hurts my bunions way too much. What do you recommend???
i remember my first point shoe fitting, i had never gone on pointe or ANYTHING like that so when they asked me to go on pointe, i had no idea what to do and i had to just leg it.
Hi! i just got my first pair of pointe shoes. they are nikolay dream pointe and after i do like a couple things on pointe my toes and a little above get tingly and feel weird. idk if its normal but someone please tell me! they are also really tight but i have no major pain.
I wish you could have fitted me when I was in ballet. No one could ever find pointe shoes that fit me correctly! I had one fitter tell me there isn’t a pointe shoe out there for my type of feet. I have very wide feet and bunions, but tapers significantly towards my heel. I also have very short toes..The width of my foot/toes is around 4in and my heel is an inch in a half standing. I previously wore Grishko 2007’s.. which were okay, but would die so quickly and weren’t ever wide enough. Last time I was fitted I had to settle with very bulky Bloch “balance European” size 6 4x. I never liked them much. The shank was WAAY TOO stiff for my foot/arch, I always had to 3/4th the shank. The box is too bulky, it didn’t give me a pretty streamline look.. If anyone has similar feet plz let me know what shoes worked for you! I’m still on the hunt as I still practice pointe at my gym studio 😊
Have you ever tried the balance lisse? They are a little less bulky and have a shorter box. Im by no means a professionell but it might be worth a try on if you ever get the chance!
I did ballet as a child and had to quit as my family could not afford it. I am now in my 20s and I have been self taught for the past year. A lot of people (rightfully so) discourage this, but I have been doing well and I’m proud of myself. I do however know my limits and I have a degree in Biology so I am very well versed in anatomy. I also purchased 5 ballet syllabus textbooks with one still on my wishlist. 2 are on the basics for beginners and intermediate but they are out of print. The other two are in Russian and used by vaganova ballet academy. The last book is from the royal ballet academy. I prefer the Russian style so I use those the most. I think you could maybe go for it as long as you do research and never try to go en pointe. That should only be done with an instructor.
Hi comments , I am 12 and I really want to do ballet I am currently doing jazz and acro but my mum says that u am too old but I really want to join ballet what do I think 🤔 am I too old plz healp
Go for it. Try to find beginners classes so you get a good grounding in the basics. You might be accepted into an adult beginners class. With your jazz and acro background it actually makes perfect sense to add classical ballet. I think most teachers would be enthusiastic about you starting classical at the age of 12 - you are definitely not too "old". Lots of luck!
Thx so much guys but with the classes I know that I will be able to join at my studio and my friends same age are starting next year too but thx for support
I’m a former ballerina but I can’t watch these videos with you talking with that raspy growl, it’s so annoying. It derives from drug addicts slurring their word while high. Please don’t glorify that type of taking while exposing the world to something so beautiful!!!
Im not even a dancer but i love watching these videos.
Same here
Yep, me too!
Same here too!
Same here, three! Or four..
Me too!
I'm always amazed at Josephine's eye for the right foot/shoe combination. Her professional skill is outstanding.
I’d love to see a follow up with Izzy when she has danced on these for a while and , I’m assuming she is still growing, as her weight changes and the sorts of roles she performs change.
she is a trainee so she is older therefore she will not experience changes height and feet length wise
Izzy is 16 so she might grow a tiny bit more but it isn’t likely. She does look much younger than she is, I was surprised to find out her age 😅
I love this! It'd be so cool if you had adult models as well! Especially dancers who started pointe as adults.
the new pair looks absolutely lovely on her feet! i hope she loves them in the studio 👏🏼

I know the reaction videos pull more views but these by far are my favorite videos on this channel!
I love how knowledgeable you are and how you explain things, it makes everything you make so entertaining
Hi, I am so happy to see more of the fitting videos! I'm so inspired by you Josephine!
awwww izzy!! we went to the same studio before she became professional, such a beautiful dancer
This was lovely. It's nice getting to see a more sports medicine side to ballet. The way pointe dancing is treated reminds me a lot of equestrian, with how intensely you care for the feet and ankles.
I'm a dancer and I'm in Australia and I love watching these videos. But I don't do Ballet so it's cool to see all the fittings😊
YAY!!!! Back to fitting again. Please keep doing fittings. They are so interesting
You might enjoy watching tiny tutu’s on Australia’s Got Talent. It was so adorable

Much better, very nice. I really enjoy the fitting videos.
I just got my first pair of pointe shoes today! 💖
I love point shoe fitting videos!!!
I’m getting pointe shoes soon and I can’t wait your videos have really helped
I used to dance with the Milwaukee Ballet when I was little! It's so awesome to see one of their dancers!
izzy! i love to see her every now and the. because i never git to see her much at our studio
these type of videos are my fav, thank you for them!
Milwaukee Ballet?? I never thought I'd see a dancer from here on your channel 😄
Hi Izzy! I was a Milwaukee Ballet trainee, too! Your new shoes look so sleek. Good luck as you keep dancing.
I love your videos!!!
Yes!!! My favorite kind of videos!!!🎉🎉🎉
Another dancer with feet like mine. 😂 I wish I could've bought 2 different size shoes for everything
The fitting videos are really my favorites ! I have a question though. How do teachers and parents feel when you recommend two different pointe shoes for each feet ? Pointe shoes are interchangeable for either foot so presumably you buy a pair of each type you need then mix & match them.
I love your vids! 😆💕
So cute
I would be curious to know if she finds balancing an arabesque or performing pirouettes or fouettés is more challenging, or totally no big deal with the new tapered box.
I wonder if the so dancas with interchangeable shanks would be good for this situation
Yes I love your video

This is a great video, so much good info. Thanks!
We love you

I.....I have no idea what any of this means, but gosh, do I have so much respect!
great advice
I need the ticktok reaction vids!!!!!!!!
Josephine❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
Well done.
I have a very boxy foot and CAN'T find a shoe I like! Nutcracker is coming up and I need a shoe. I sink in a boxy shoe and in a tapered shoe it hurts my bunions way too much. What do you recommend???

Does anyone know where her leotard is from? :) The style is so pretty
its from so danca!!
We need a fitting for us size 11s!
Hey Milwaukee Ballet, I'm 10 min away from the Milwaukee location!
I'm here to add my 12th view plus a comment so more fitting videos will be made in the future ❤️
Hi! i just got my first pair of pointe shoes. they are nikolay dream pointe and after i do like a couple things on pointe my toes and a little above get tingly and feel weird. idk if its normal but someone please tell me! they are also really tight but i have no major pain.
She reminds me of a young Catherine Morgan ❤

My name is izzy to and I might do Pointe to
I want to dance ballet reeeeally bad. I'm probably "too old" and I literally would have to move across the country to take classes😩
I have shallow feet too. It’s encouraging to see you beautiful her feet are. I hope to get there someday soon too.
💕
Hiii
So do you have her buy two pairs of shoes so she has two pairs with one softer and one harder shank each?
Yeah, because pointe shoes don't have a right or left, she will be able to utilize both shoes for both pairs. Hope that helps answer your question :)
Hi
Me crying bc I want to be a point shop model but I haven’t danced a day in my life
👍👍👍❤❤❤
Wow Izzy has such beautiful feet!
First
Tiny shallow feet -so hard to fit in any shoe. I could never have survived en pointe.
i’m sorry if tiny feet are hard to fit i’m guilty-
Hi comments , I am 12 and I really want to do ballet I am currently doing jazz and acro but my mum says that u am too old but I really want to join ballet what do I think 🤔 am I too old plz healp
your never to old to dance, just try younger classes to build up your confidence.

She's so tiny!!!!!!
So Izzy had to buy two pairs of shoes?
