Vincenzo Campisi Gonzalez AMAZING. Vision is 25/20. Dryness is minimal- limited to when I wake up, stare at a screen too long or get the car AC blasting in my face. No halos during night driving, no blurriness, I’m so satisfied with the end result. My eyes are still sensitive to the touch if I accidentally rub or bump too hard over the site of the surgery, but otherwise I feel absolutely normal and great. I’m wearing polarized sunglasses during the day as recommended by my doc to prevent healing or any sun damage to the eye.
Elora Jean That is so good to hear :) I had my laser surgery done this past Thursday. Could you do a one year follow up video of the improvements since the last video? :)
I got mine in September 2018. Day 1, no problem. Procedure was easy and painless. Day 2, pain was starting to kick in. Day 3, sucked. 8 out of 10 on the pain scales, but I had pain killers and sleeping aids. Anytime I opened my eyes, it felt like sand in my eyes, with a few painful needle spikes. Day 4, fields of flowers and blue skies. Pain completely subsided, still a little sensitive to light. 1 month in - dry eyes were common, but kept eye drops on standby. 20/20 vision 3 months to now - rare dry eyes, I still kept my eye drops on standby. 20/15 vision Easily one of the best decisions I made. Competing in sports growing up was near impossible as I wore glasses. Then I wore contacts for about 10 years, until the eye doctor saw I was having some serious drops in my vision. Without my contacts, I was at 20/80 on top of astigmatism. I'm thoroughly enjoying life alot more without the dread of putting contacts in every day. Seriously folks, don't let my experience discourage you from getting this procedure. It's a great trade.
@I Said What I Said. the second number indicates the number of feet that it takes said person to see clearly compared with another person who can see the same object with perfect vision.
@I Said What I Said. my explanation sucked...and the best vision possible is 20/10. If you have 20/10 vision, you can see details at 20 feet that people with normal vision can only see at a distance of 10 feet.
@@tais7552 Why? LASIK is a faster process with less recovery time. They just cut your cornea and pull it back, hit it with the laser, and put the corneal flap back. PRK they have to remove an area of your cornea and then when done I think they put some sort of liquid to replace it. I just had LASIK today and have been comparing the videos (to PRK)... if you are a LASIK candidate it's the way to go AFAIK. After I took a nap when I got home I could see like 90% clearly and the rest of the evening it only got better. NO pain at all, zero pain killers needed. I'm not saying PRK isn't great for those that can't do LASIK, it just seems like LASIK is the path of least resistance. Either way you're going to be happy with putting contacts and lenses away for good, so don't let me dissuade anyone only able to do PRK!
@@dustintravis8791 I will probably be getting PRK because I find the complications that can arise from LASIK to be unacceptable. While extremely rare there could be issues with the nerve regeneration after slicing them that can cause permanent dry eye and in very rare cases chronic pain. The structural integrity of the eyeball is also compromised and for some the flap never fully heals. Again, these are all very rare but I don't want to take the risk.
Thanks for this! My wife is getting PRK tomorrow and since I’ll be taking care of her for the next few days I wanted to know what to expect. Hope it goes well!
This is my third day after prk. My doc didnt give my any pain drops for my eyes and im allergic to ibuprofen so i ended up taking really mild pain killers. After about 3-4 hours after the surgery the pain hit me like a truck. Worst day of my life. Pure torture, but i felt totally fine afterwards and right now i can watch this video and comment on it. For anyone who is about the go through prk, my suggestion would be to prepare fot the first day a lot.
Americans man. They even ger drugged to sleep to remove their wisdom tooth. Weak.... Im from Greece and i was given no pain drops ar all ! The days after prk were pure torture. The day after the contact got removed was also torture. Yet every american recovery video I've seen is like excited and in no pain. I had to take two Lonarid pills to get some sleep through the first nights.. in some American videos people were even given numb drops ...
I'm going to get PRK soon and I'm so bloody nervous, will i be in alot of pain and the optician said at the end they have to put a contact lense over my eye to help with healing and that can make the eye hurt even more.
Altan Gurel My surgeon prescribed volume so I took 1 one hour before the procedure and 1, 5 hours later. No pain just a little discomfort also he gave me numbing drops aside from the RX drops. also got artificial tear drops to moisturize my eye. so far 16 hours after my PRK feeling great just a little dry.
Hi Elora. I'm considering PRK, and your experience journal here was really informative for me to think about before I do it. Thanks for making and sharing the video!
Looking at you and ur tears coming out on their own makes my eyes water. I had the same surgery around 2 years ago now....but good luck girl!! Its very uncomfortable but totally worth it in the end!! Good luck! 🙂
It’s my fourth day of recovery. It hasn’t been painful much just burning at night. I have no family or friends and I’ve been able to manage pretty well. The first couple of days it was rough to see up close but now I’m able to see quite well. I’ve just taken ibroprofen here and there. Drinking lots of water.i was able to watch movies decently day three and better today.
Hi, how’s everything? some ppl mentioned PRK will have haze, do you experience this too? Curious dose the doctor suggest people do smile more than PRK in your country? (I were in Taiwan, and all doc I found is the eye doctor proceed PRK for his own daughter)
Thank you so much for doing this Elora. This was super helpful and now I know what to expect in the recovery. I am having my surgery on Monday and hoping recovery doesn't suck too bad. I will try to post an update whenever I can. I read in the other comment that you're are doing great now and have a killer vision now. That's so good to know. Stay awesome x
Getting surgery today. Mostly because I HATE CONTACTS! They always dry up on me 20 minutes into wearing them! This is gonna be an agonizing week with dry contacts the whole time 😪
@@Really_Biggah Yow. Can't believe it has been 2 years already. The first week reaaallly sucked for me. But after a few months my eyesight became, and is still, perfect. Most of my eye pain, I found later, came from way too much eyestrain from screen time. Take breaks and massage your orbicularis oculi if you are like me and tend to subconsciously squint. I've been told I have a mean resting face, but after I realized it was because my eyes were always so stressed, and I began to massage them, stretch them and focus on relaxing the area around my eyes, my resting mean face is gone! lol. Totally off track. The surgery went awesome and I am so happy that I never have to wear contacts or glasses again.
I'm on day three of PRK. I was expecting to get lasik until the day of surgery and lying in the bed when the dr.. said my eyes are to small and will need PRK instead. It has been a challenging process. The surgery itself was a little scary but the recovery after has been hard. I can relate when she said all you can do is eat, and sleep. Cant reslly watch movies and the lights kills my eyes. Just hoping my vision starts clearing up in the next few days. Patience is key.
It's been over a month for me. Not a good experience for me. Still blurry and have to squint to see. Can't read a computer without reading glasses and I have 3 pair diff strengths and none work. I regret this surgery. Ruining my life
I'm contemplating having this because I already had Lasik surgery in 2005, but unfortunately my vision diminishes about 10 years after. I was told after so long they don't recommend getting laser again but Prk would be my best choice really didn't know what to expect this gives me a idea.
This is interesting; I had Lasik done on September 18, 2020, and i felt the burning pain after my surgery and throughout most of the first night. After that I haven’t had any pain/discomfort to this current day. However day 2 i did feel the uncomfortable contact feeling each time i would blink, but after a few hours it went away. I could see 20/20 immediately after surgery btw. I had to keep my eyes closed the entire day after surgery pretty much (that was annoying). Also, my eyes aren’t sensitive to light; I haven’t seen any halos. I wear my shades each time I go outside so im not sure how my eyes will react without them (im not going to try and find out). Anyway, i just thought the differences between the surgeries were interesting
Thank you so much for filming this, it’s so helpful! I’m on day 2 post-op from prk and so far I’m feeling the exact same way you describe, which is reassuring! Hoping today is the hardest day and it gets better from here!
I just got PRK 3 days ago. For me the first day was horrible, I was miserable and in a lot of pain, like a VERY bad migrane and had an anxiety attack because I couldn't see anything. I was scared that I was gonna stay that way for some reason. On day 2 the pain was almost gone but still there, I could open my eyes more but was only able to see figures. On day 3, today I am able to type this ! :) my eyes feel dry every now and then and see halos at night, sometimes lose focus but nothing I can't deal with. I am still recovering but excited to get these contacts off ! :)
Whenever I see things that hold eyes open it always makes me think of the "treatment scene" in A Clockwork Orange where they made Alex DeLarge watch horrifying videos while playing some of his favorite music.
I just got my prk done 2 weeks ago..i got soo worried about the pain and procedure over nothin..i was expecting alot of pain for the first 3 days based on peoples experience.so i took an ativan before surgery so i was soo relaxed and abit drowzy..the surgery it self was like 10mins and laser part was only 2mins andnot scary at all..so about the pain afterwards.i would say all depends on the individual and their heeling process.my husband was in alot of pain after prk.my other friend had abit of pain and she was cooking and cleaning no problems.and as for me i barely had pain :) on 2nd and 3rd night i had abit of pressure and discomfort so i put numbing drops and just in case took tylenol 3 .but during the day i had no pain at all :) i followed all my instruction putin drops as told :) wish everyone good luck and dont be scared ahead of time..u might not even have much pain :) all worth it!! Being able to see with no glasses or contacts its amazing!!
Just an update. No issues or side effects ..i went for my 2 months check up and dr said my heeling is better than normal and i could see 100% after a week.my eyes even now after 6months are good no dryness or anything :)
I had a Trans PRK surgery 6 days ago, here’s my experience: 50 seconds of laser each eye (-4 and cylinder of 1.25 on both eyes) Day 1: Right after the surgery, couldn’t open my eyes, shit load of pain and burning sensation like someone sandpapered my eyes and kept the sand paper inside. Had to ask my friend to put my eye drops for me because I just couldn’t. Day 2: Still in pain but could open my eyes, blurry eyesight. Day 3: Morning was okay-ish, evening was sandpaper feeling again. Basically days 1-3 I was sitting in the dark and waiting for time to pass, couldn’t do anything. Day 4: Pain gone but super blurry vision, couldn’t see/read anything from up close nor faraway but I was able to perform basic tasks by myself. Day 5: Started seeing from up close, was able to read and use my phone, but distance was still blurry. Day 6: Started seeing from distance and started enjoying the benefits :) From here I assume the vision will be clearer and clearer everyday with some ups and downs along the way. Will keep updating if someone is interested. (Since everyone has different experience due to different prescription I guess someone out there has a similar prescription to mine and would like to know the experience).
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm planning to have PRK surgery in December to fix my recurrent erosion and my vision, but while I'm excited there is still a little bit of fear tagged in. That must have felt funny doing the shower scene, lol. I hope I get those cool sleeping goggles.
Hello, Elora. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. This has been extremely educational to me. I will be having Lasik/PRK next Friday. I will not know which until I get there, as the doctor performing the surgery is several hours from me and my schedule doesn't allow me to visit them physically. So, I am preparing for either or. I hear Lasik is quick recovery and will be able to see well enough to go back to work. But PRK takes longer to heal from. My worry is about 'seeing' right after surgery. I am farsighted, I think. My prescription if pretty strong, but I can see far away things without my glasses/contact. I can't see things near me. I worry about the surgery and how my vision will be. I live in a small country town, and my young son drives in rural highways and the interstate that isn't too crowded. He will be my driver after the surgery. He is really good, but doesn't have experience in a big city, such as Denver. Though you say your vision was blurry, could you see right after the surgery as your mom was driving? Though you may not have been able to read signs, could you see other cars and buildings and such? If I end up with PRK, will I be able to guide my son while he drives, or do you suggest I stay in Denver a few days instead of trekking home right after? Thank you for your help. I have been freaking out about PRK. I would rather have the new SMILE procedure, but the doctor won't know which is best for me until I get there the morning of surgery. Rather scary for me as I can't plan for my work schedule or prepare myself for being 'blind' for a while. Not to mention, I am taking college courses, and I have a huge test two days after the surgery. LOL Maybe I shouldn't do this?!!!
What ended up happening? I was suppose to get lasik yesterday but on the table they couldn’t get the suction on so they said my only option then is PRK so I’m going to wait next semester bc I heard healing can be hell
If I knew the procedure was done by the Air Force I would feel far more confident about it. Anyone else? Did that help make your decision to go for it and boost your confidence Elora? Marvellous information . Thank you and best wishes to you and your Air Force from the UK. Fly high, Fly far.
Hi everyone, I had prk done 7 months ago in Paris France, but my eyes are still blurry, and my left eye is more blurry than the right. I can't see clearly with my left eye.
I had prk over a month ago. Still blurry and it's horrible trying to read the computers. Surgery was simple no pain and it was completely over in abt 7 min. The healing process for prk is very long. I regret having this surgery. The worst decision i have ever made. Shoulda just kept the glasses
Wild On A Whim ...No, My distance vision is ok, but up close is horrible. Abt 6 weeks after the surgery I was able to read my computer and text etc, but now I can barely see my food and put on makeup. I did have bifocals before the surgery, but this is worse than I imagined.. not Happy!!!
Women, what would you recommend, getting PRK before or after having kids? I’m in that dilema right now. Apparently pregnancy can cause changes in eyesight
Interesting. I've never heard pregnancy to affect the eyes. Anyway. I am currently at a clinic in Dubai. With my 9yr old and 5 Yr old. I'm waiting to get my eyes sorted.
Hi, thanks for the great vid. I just had my transepi 21 days ago and still see blurry. It hurts when I work on the computer for moore tan an hour a day.... Please tell me when you started seeing as expected. How do you feel now? Thanks :)
hi, great video, I am going to PRK my eyes this friday 18-09-2020 and i am a little anxious about it, if you don´t mind me asking, how long it was before you could see? I mean 6 days after your vision was blurry, when did the blurryness went away?
Thanks a lot for these videos! I really appreciate all the effort and time you put into them. They are super informative and useful. Quick question, did you supplement with any vitamins or omegas or nutrition wise how is your diet? Anything special that you did to help the healing process?
@@everydayescapes3367 My vision only lasted for 2 years as 20/20. As of today, I require a small prescription to see far. Other than that, I can see fine - I just use those glasses when I'm either watching a movie with subtitles or driving at night. With my case, I have chronic dry eyes - ever since I got PRK done, I rely on OTC eye drops daily. Probably for the rest of my life. It's normal and a must that I have eyedrops with me at all times. Last October - my eyes were so dry that I (tore) the first layer of my left eye. I had a contact bandage placed over for 4 days just to heal and was instructed to use Muro128 ointment. Which I can't go without now.
Does the bandage contact hurt when they put it in at the end of surgery? My eyes are so sensitive and I get very nauseous if I get blurry and dizzy vision.. I'm not sure if all this is worth it to me.
Just got my PRK done yesterday through the Navy. Only difference I noticed was I could smell burning skin of some sort during the laser process. It was weird as hell 😂
I had mine last thursday (3 days ago). First two days were the worst. I was in excruciating pain and was really questioning my decision for doing this lmaoo. But now im on my third day. The pain is gone but i still cant see anything. Hope everything will be okay
@@coolerthanyou6040 15 days after. My doctor told me my vision for both eyes are 20/20. But its still A LITTLE BIT blurry . But i can already do everything like driving, working etc.
@30 y.o. Baby Boy they are fine. Left is 20/20. Right is slightly below the line means i cant see 20/20 yet but is going there. But to be honest, my vision during low light is quite bad but its bearable. My doctor told me to wait until 6 months.
Omg i heard you say Travis AFB Im like woohoo I’m in Sac so I know where that’s at! Lol.... I have PRK in a few weeks, thank you for this! I took two weeks off so I pray that helps considering I’m on a computer for work all day 🙈
Hello. You gave such a detailed view of the whole experience of the surgery. I have been wanting to get the PRK too. How much was your refractive error before the surgery? I want to join the military and have heard that PRK is the best option. Does the epithelium heal completely? Please keep updating as much as possible.
My vision was about -2.0 and -2.5, the epithelium is supposed to heal completely as long as you use the drops and follow post-op instructions all the way!
Thank you so much for your video, it was so helpful, I will get mine on Thursday. I’m so scared about the pain, what do you recommend to easy the pain after the laser? Hope you are feeling better now :)
Hey, thanks for sharing!!! I'm looking at getting PRK - just wondering how long it was before your vision became unblurry and when you could drive? I also work at a desk job - did you find it difficult in the weeks after going back to work?
It took like a solid month before my vision felt back to normal. I work at a desk as well and reading my computer was super annoying for like two weeks and after that it was doable.
I had PRK done last week. Those contacts were in for 6 days before being taking off. My right eye been healing faster despite that eye have an astigmatism while my left eye has slight double vision. I have to struggle to focus on words with my left eye. Also, it's a good idea to lower the brightness alot on your cell phones and computer screens.
I had done prk surgery 10 days ago. After removing contact lens from eyes I am able to see from left eye but right eye is blurry. Now I m back to my work. I m not able see the computer and everything in system looks double and blurry..Did u face any problem like this.if yes what action u had taken .. could you please tell me so that I will take care
u look so diffrent at the end. its like one of those tiktoks where u get a crazy transformation. amazing. but why did you not do lasek? i have done lasek last week and its great.
Okay so actually I checked this RUclips channel giving explanation about lasik and laser eye treatment it was all so negative and my eyes aren’t good at all because I’m 13 and have high astigmatism of -7.00/-6.5 the comments were so negative that I started crying I really don’t know if I should do it or not, I really need reassurance, because at this point I’m really worried to go blind.
I'm getting ready to start this process. The dry contact sensation makes me nervous though. I hate dry contacts lol. Also, the risk of messing my eyes up further kind of makes me nervous but I hate putting contacts in and out every damn day.
It's definitely an uncomfortable experience, but if I can have great vision without putting in extra work, that's a winner for me! Just make sure you follow the post-op instructions perfectly and hopefully you'll be good :)
Hi Elora, quick question for ya. I am leaving tech school soon and wanted to see who I could talk to about PRK or LASIK at Travis AFB before my active duty orders end (reservist). Do you remember if you called the hospital? Or was there a clinic?
Hello! I went to an optometrist for a regular eye appointment and asked the doctor for some information then. The process takes a while so if you leave tech school soon I'm not sure how feasible it is to get everything done in a quick enough manner! But it's worth a shot.
My left eye vision was worst so I had intacs and C3R but I dint had PRK.... my vision improved little bit but dint made any difference in vision.... Does PRK surgery guarantee good vision in worst case scenario????
After a month of this surgery, I am still experiencing blur sight and it’s a weird feeling cos there is no clarity on anything and it is frustrating and tiring I had to start work from day 3 of the surgery and have to be on the computer and phone for more than 8 hrs. That’s not helping either. So, consider that prior to making a decision.
I just had PRK about a day ago now - so in recovery stage - limiting screen time but tbese videos help to just listen to others experiences will I recover
Went really well - pretty much what most say - Day 1 is fine you see pretty clear then day 2-3 gets blurry so just rest in bed with pod casts etc I was hesistant to drive a week later because still not totally clear but takes time. Otherwise the procedure itself was totally fine. Highly recommend
Hi, great video! This is really helpful. I’m getting PRK done this week and am looking forward to it. I was wondering - what’s the brand/name of the gel drops you mentioned? Figured I should stock up in case I’ll need them too! Thank you.
I'm on day 5 from surgery and its blurry I can't even read emails properly. They will remove the lense this afternoon. Hope the blurriness will clear out
@@gazarsh1453 after a month it's great now. I did not went yet to the eye doctor for a check up but my vision is superb. I still get dry eyes sometimes thats why I keep the eye drops with me at all times
i hat to pause... I just got my PRK done yesterday i was given Volume to help with pain before and after surgery im 15 hours in no pain but a little discomfort. i like that you got black goggles mine are clear but I have not taken them off not I will until I go in on Monday for my lense removal I want to avoid accidentally rubbing my eye or having any dust particle falling in my eye.. This is my 3rd procedure on my left eye and right has only 1. i started with blinding cataracts on both eye I'm a mystery don't know why I got cataracts in my mid 30's basically blind on my left eye. that's why I had to get PRK after having multifocal implants in both eyes my left had been so bad that implants helped but still see blurry. hopefully PRK helps.. ok.. back to ur vid. i might comment again LOL...
hey Elora, this whole question might be a long shot, but did you happen to have an astigmatism? the reason i ask is because, i have an astigmatism that is .25 over the limit and is disqualifying to join the Air Force. my recruiter sent my prescription up to the MEPS doctor and they turned me down so now my recruiter is going to send my info to the Air Force surgeon general and see if he will approve me. do you have any experience/knowledge with this and do you think i’ll get approved? anyone with insight to this it would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼 he said other recruiters told him they had luck with it.
This is day 2 for me.. No pain for me.. Or discomfort.. Yesterday suckex pretty bad.. I went jogging outside with shades on..everything is blurry and I can barely see my phone screen.. I have the font size to extra large.
Were you able to drive a few days after the procedure even with the blurry vision? How did you get through the day at work if your vison was blurry? Was your vision blurry but a lot better than before when you had glasses? I work in the medical field and im afraid that it will be too blurry to even work . thank you
I was able to comfortably drive after a week, although the vision was still blurry and I couldn't read road signs. I wouldn't have driven somewhere unfamiliar to me. I was able to struggle through work by squinting...which was really sucky. I had double, vision blurry for about two-three weeks. I only really felt like my vision was back to normal after two months! But it was bearable after like a month.
I’ve heard lasik has a much faster recovery time and instant results........and it costs the same amount that you paid for PRK. At least here in Utah. What made you choose the latter?
I was recommended PRK rather than LASIK by the eye doctor, after they examined my eyes and decided I was a better candidate for PRK. I was told although recovery is longer, results are sometimes even better than LASIK, and you don't run the risk of accidentally bumping your eye and the corneal flap created in LASIK later down the road (as it apparently doesn't heal 100%?). I just trusted the recommendations given to me, and was comfortable with the choice.
Tracy Young I went for PRK for the same reason. If you have low degrees better do PRK. I was told that recovery is more painful than Lasik and I was prepared for a lot of pain etc. but it is not smthg that you cannot handle and it's only for a couple of days
Vinit K Bagdai I remember that within a month I could see perfectly or, say, 99.9%. What do you mean you cannot see properly? How many degrees did you have?

I got mine in September 2018. Day 1, no problem. Procedure was easy and painless. Day 2, pain was starting to kick in. Day 3, sucked. 8 out of 10 on the pain scales, but I had pain killers and sleeping aids. Anytime I opened my eyes, it felt like sand in my eyes, with a few painful needle spikes. Easily one of the best decisions I made. Competing in sports growing up was near impossible as I wore glasses. Then I wore contacts for about 10 years, until the eye doctor saw I was having some serious drops in my vision. Without my contacts, I was at 20/80 on top of astigmatism.

@@tais7552 Why? LASIK is a faster process with less recovery time. They just cut your cornea and pull it back, hit it with the laser, and put the corneal flap back. While extremely rare there could be issues with the nerve regeneration after slicing them that can cause permanent dry eye and in very rare cases chronic pain. The structural integrity of the eyeball is also compromised and for some the flap never fully heals.
Again, these are all very rare but I don't want to take the risk.

These day by day updates were SO HELPFUL. I'm a little nervous about the pain but it sounds super doable. My surgery is in a few weeks, I'm PUMPED.
Did you go through with it? I want to get it
@@onehonei2 yup, and I made videos about it on my channel! One of the best things I've EVER done.
Altan Gurel wish me luck im going into my prk surgery in 2 days ..freakin out about the pain lol

Hii any update??

Looking at you and ur tears coming out on their own makes my eyes water. I had the same surgery around 2 years ago now....but good luck girl!! Its very uncomfortable but totally worth it in the end!! Good luck! 🙂
Hi did you get contoura
How long did it take for your vision to completely clear up? I had prk done 3 days ago
Kristie Williams How was your vision 1 month aefter the surgery? Still blurry or when did it reach its optimum?
7 days after the operation , feeling better everyday . also vision is almost perfect
How is your eyes now ?
Can you see clearly on 10 meters?
i love the way you move your lips/ mouth when you talk it’s smoothing
I know it’s been over two years but still... thank you so much. I got PRK 48 hours ago and your video is just what I needed
Hii , how is it noow ?
This is gonna be an agonizing week with dry contacts the whole time 😪
Update?
Now are u able to see perfectly
It's been over a month for me. Not a good experience for me. Still blurry and have to squint to see. Can't read a computer without reading glasses and I have 3 pair diff strengths and none work. I regret this surgery. Ruining my life
mz E how ur vision now ?
mz E Is your vision clear now? How long it took?
Just got PRK last week through the Army in Landstuhl. I have my post op tomorrow and so far the results have been great.
It’s my 7th day after prk surgery…yes the first 3days sucks but after that u will feel better …but I think I won’t regret my decision
You look so cute in glasses. My biggest fear is how I'll look without them. I feel like it's been a part of my look since I was a kid.

How do u feel now
Whenever I see things that hold eyes open it always makes me think of the "treatment scene" in A Clockwork Orange where they made Alex DeLarge watch horrifying videos while playing some of his favorite music.
I had a Trans PRK surgery 6 days ago, here’s my experience:
50 seconds of laser each eye (-4 and cylinder of 1.25 on both eyes)
Day 1:
Right after the surgery, couldn’t open my eyes, shit load of pain and burning sensation like someone sandpapered my eyes and kept the sand paper inside. Had to ask my friend to put my eye drops for me because I just couldn’t.
Day 2:
Still in pain but could open my eyes, blurry eyesight.
Day 3:
Morning was okay-ish, evening was sandpaper feeling again.
Basically days 1-3 I was sitting in the dark and waiting for time to pass, couldn’t do anything.
Day 4:
Pain gone but super blurry vision, couldn’t see/read anything from up close nor faraway but I was able to perform basic tasks by myself.
Day 5:
Started seeing from up close, was able to read and use my phone, but distance was still blurry.
Day 6:
Started seeing from distance and started enjoying the benefits :)
From here I assume the vision will be clearer and clearer everyday with some ups and downs along the way.
Will keep updating if someone is interested. (Since everyone has different experience due to different prescription I guess someone out there has a similar prescription to mine and would like to know the experience).

That must have felt funny doing the shower scene, lol.

I'm thinking about getting PRK- but so scared! How are your eyes today? Do you still deal with dry eye?
My left eye vision was worst so I had intacs and C3R but I dint had PRK.... my vision improved little bit but dint made any difference in vision....
Does PRK surgery guarantee good vision in worst case scenario????
Did you get nauseous? My husband is getting his done and I'm super afraid he will be nauseous and throw up.
Nausea is not a (or common) side effect, so don’t worry.

Do you think returning to work by day 4/5 would be an unrealistic goal?
It sucks everything was still blurry after so long but at least you saw some improvement?
Were you able to drive a few days after the procedure even with the blurry vision? How did you get through the day at work if your vison was blurry? Was your vision blurry but a lot better than before when you had glasses? I work in the medical field and im afraid that it will be too blurry to even work . thank you
I was able to comfortably drive after a week, although the vision was still blurry and I couldn't read road signs. I wouldn't have driven somewhere unfamiliar to me. I was able to struggle through work by squinting...which was really sucky. I had double, vision blurry for about two-three weeks. Do u thi k is better to do 1 eye by time or both togheter? So my life wouldn t stop completely for 1 week
Voice Of Reason hey i did PRK few days back , today is 25th day still i can’t see properly !! How many days it takes for complete recovery ?
Vinit K Bagdai I remember that within a month I could see perfectly or, say, 99.9%. What do you mean you cannot see properly? How many degrees did you have?
Voice Of Reason i had 2.5 in left eye & 3.0 in right eye ! Today is 24th day , i can see much better [ Better than earlier if i was without SPECS ] so if i don’t wear specs now i can see much better , But still it’s blurry ! While watching TV , names are blurry , while using laptop its bit difficult !

hi there. how are you now?
Hi there, good video!
Also, did you ever consider LASEK instead of PRK? It's like PRK with a few modifications.
Thanks! And not really, PRK was suggested to me by my doctor as the best option, so that's what I went with.
Sadly, it actually is only about $300 in other countries. Everything is way overpriced in the US
What steps did you have to go through to get Lasik or PRK for the military?
