The par 71 course at Dubai Creek that measures 7,009 yards is a memorable journey from the first tee to the 18th green. The superbly manicured fairways are undulating, demarcated by mounds, date and palm trees, and most other times by water. Apart from the Creek, which comes into play on at least four holes, several artificial lakes add to the beauty and difficulty of various other holes.
The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club course sets up for a thrilling finale to a round with its two par 4 closing holes. The 17th and 18th have the Creek guarding the entire left side of the fairway. While the 17th can still be conquered with some smart play, the 18th requires mandatory cerebral involvement on every shot. There is water on the left and a long bunker on the right, beyond which is water again. A good drive will still leave you with a long iron into the tiered and sloping green, which is guarded at the front and right by a body of water.

I worked out the WHS for a course I know well in Thailand. From the 7400 yard tees I would get 9 shots. What the actual F? I can't even reach some of the fairways.
Great course, it looks so wide compared to some. Just shows these Pros have it easy over us hackers! A thrill to play though.
Yeah I think the scratch rating makes such a difference, more so than the slope. It was fairly wide, but then every so often you would have water either side of you! I didn’t play well for the middle 6 holes, only 5 pts, but other than that was around my handicap
@@ForetoFourGolf I thought you played well. We can't shoot lights out every day. Water and sand everywhere, you're a far better bunker player than me. I did enjoy the layup just past the Ladies tee.......

@@ForetoFourGolf Strange bed. I got lucky on Phuket as the bed was great. My usual hotel where I go the bed is like a concrete block. Why do I keep going back to the same hotel? Dumb bas-tard!
