Love that I found your videos! How do I change customers to donor? I see it on the chart of account. I did change it under settings- advanced- how do I add in tithes… Thanks
This simple intro video has really opened our eyes, revealing what we didn't know we needed to know. We're now subscribers who look for to strengthen our practices. Do you cover setting up monthly membership fees? We offer academic programming services.
Do you have an example Chart of Accounts to help nonprofits? I have downloaded the Unified Chart of Accounts for Nonprofits (UCOA) developed by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). But that seems to be very complicated for a simple nonprofit. Do you support the use of the OCOA?
Thank you for all of your videos. All of your nonprofit accounting videos are extremely helpful. Can you share more information about how to use projects to tracks grants that are paid for upfront? (A lot of other videos I've found are for reimbursable grants, but I'm looking to use projects for grants that have already provided the funding upfront) Also do you know of any school courses or certificate programs that you recomend for someone wanting to learn more about nonprofit finance and accounting?
@Germeen, why only 2 locations? Could you have two locations that each have sub-locations? For example: 1) With Donor Restriction 1a) Permanently Restricted 1b) Time or Use Restricted 2) Without Donor Restriction 2a) With Board Designation 2b) Without Board Designation (General Fund) Anything lower than this second level would be restricted or designated to a program service which would be tracked using Classes. Is this a common configuration? Or is there a better way to structure it? For example, would the second level instead be configured as Net Assets accounts/subaccounts?
Hi! I have another question, how to record an investment from Non-profit Organization to it's sub-company that is also a non-profit company. Example: "The Giver's Company" invest $1000 to "Kindness Company"? How will Kindness Company record that $1000 money?
I know you're saying customers should be changed to donors, but it would be a big help if you actually showed us how to do that and make those changes. Otherwise, thanks for the vid.
Hey Germeen, thanks for this video. We are a small ministry, 501c3 looking for bookkeeping software. I'm leaning towards QuickBooks Premier, nonprofit. I am volunteering to get it set up and running but would like for our ministry to have software that can be handed off to an accountant in the future if needed. What would you recommend for our small ministry? thanks, Pete
Hi Pete... if im not mistaken QB Premier is a desktop product. Its a bit harder to pass off desktop software as it lives on the computer vs being a cloud based solution.
I am SO glad I found you! I'm the Treasurer for a local museum and can't wait to see more!!
Welcome!!
As a brand new Finance Director taking over for someone who refused to learn QB- THANK YOU! You're truly making my transition so much easier!
I'm so glad to hear that! If you have any topics you'd like me to cover, let me know.
Very best overview of QBO online for Non Profits. Thank you!!
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this clear and concise explanation.
Could you tell me if QB can help with sending out year end statements for donors?
No, typically orgs use a donor management system that does that for them.
@@germeeng700do you Have any recommendations on how to vent a donor management system?
Thank you for a great video that is very user friendly.
My goodness how did I find you only now!?

In QuickBooks online plus, can we import budget plan?
Would you use Classes to track Event-based income and related expenses?
