You guys are WAYYY better about not interrupting each other as much as you used to. I’m so glad. It’s an essential component of the podcast listening experience that podcasters have to kinda get used to over time.
I know it’s not really natural to wait till someone is always done talking to speak, but it is good for the listener.

Standing up for you Jon, subtitles are king! I understand so much more of what is being said because some audio mixing is just awful. I often re`watch movies and catch things I didn't realize with subtitles too. They are the best!
Yes. Subtitles are great. I don’t understand why the audio mixers don’t want us to hear anything. And with subtitles I don’t have to keep rewinding.
The return of Phil Schiller was awesome. And it looks like Apple has been paying attention to people like me with that sneak peek of the original iPod. I was laughing and tearing up at the same time with that intro lol.
Did anyone else realize that the keynote intro sequence was symbolic for "everyone else is doing AI solely in the cloud and we're not"?

I wish that the icon colors used machine learning and instead of putting a red tint, it would look at the logo and change the parts strategically to look good.

@@webjoekingAI can do fingers just fine. Though most app icons don’t even use fingers and there’s no reason to use AI when the designers of the app can just provide the needed differences for the tinted version

As said by someone on another RUclips channel, Apple should now DEFINITELY REMOVE the "Pro”moniker from the iPad line-up! iPadOS it's ridiculous and NOT pro at all. When (and IF) we'll see a TRUE file system, a TRUE multitasking and virtual memory management, a TRUE support for actual mouses and mouse pointer, a TRUE handling of external peripherals and a TRUE external monitor support, THEN and ONLY them they could stick the "Pro" moniker back again.
Intro was 10/10. I feel more 🆓 now.

I think Apple missed by not calling Apple Intelligence a One More Thing. Of course it's an insignificant thing, but since we're not getting an Apple Car, I think Tim Cook's last One More Thing would've been better suited to this than Apple Vision Pro. Maybe they just didn't want two of them back-to-back, but I think this is bigger than the iPhone X, Apple Music, and the Apple Watch, all of which were "One More Things".

@@evancrazyerror Ok that’s a fair point. I think it may have also been because the Vision Pro was also announced recently and that was one more thing so maybe they didn’t want to do that again. Also let’s be honest we all knew it was coming so it was not like a real surprise that was expected.

Imagine this. You're on your MacBook trying to get some work done, using Vision Pro as a huge wide-screen monitor, and have your phone available in front of you through Mac OS Sequoia's new continuity feature, with additional screens from Vision Pro on the side. Now that is a serious productivity workflow if I've ever seen one. Apple just gotta figure out how to add the iPad into that picture.

Since people with a HomePod or Apple Watch most likely have a Mac, iPhone or iPad in the house with them when they’re using it, it should be able to send the request to get processed locally on your own device, that way you still get the new Siri, and it’s still secure and local, just to another one of your devices.

I think all the security protocols with the AI is great. Feels a lot better than the competitors. Definitely wish more was done with I Pad OS.

what does this mean for the Apple Watch 10. It can’t run basically without the M1? What would you do with that much power
Reduce interruptions gives you less notifications from the same app. So like if you're in a group text and there are 100 messages in a row you don't get all 100. You get maybe the first three and then apples like look. He knows there are messages waiting. We don't need to notify him of all 100.
iPad OS has nothing but cosmetic changes. One of the issues that people with iPD Pros was addressed. I am glad I decided to hold off on upgrading to a Pro iPad. Until they address some of the issues and bring some elements of Mac OS to the iPAD OS at least for Pros I simply can not justify spending the money in upgrades.
Vision Pro was only out for 4 months and what they gave us in visionOS was good enough for that frame
Subtitles are never ok unless absolutely necessary.

In control center screen mirroring, and rotation lock are above the focus mode selection on my iPad, on my iPhone it’s rotation lock and silent mode. This fucks me up so much. Im so happy i can move these so they match.
Pausing rings for sickness was cool, but scheduling rest days with your rings is awesome and was much needed!
Imagine how many HomePods they would sell right away if Siri 2.0 and AppleI will be released on HomePod, doesn’t matter if on device or from server. That makes it an instant excellent product.

29:06 the on/off switch should be mappable on the iPhone and you can have two trigger buttons with the rumored camera button. It would be great to play fps on game mode.
The issue with the themed Icons is that Apple doesn't have the most consistent design language on iOS...
People could customize system colors and it wouldn't look out of place, if the design system supported it in the first place.
So for it to be consistent, you'd have to refresh the entire system's design.

You guys glossed over the fact Apple Intelligence only works on iPhone 15 Pro, which is only a small % of current iPhone users. This is the first time that such a huge update can only be used by a small % of users. Not sure why the chat GPT portion can’t be provided to every iPhone user, since it isn’t on device.

I have an intuition new Photos UI will be much accessible for our parents (and for us eventually). Seeing same photos on different tabs is confusing. Am I in the same or the new place? The new flat explorative design may work well. If you’re lost you just make a couple of swipes in random directions (as most people do then) and finally you’ll get there.

VisionOS had some secret improvements that you can only know about on the site or dev sessions, that video thing for safari at 56:52 , is actually mostly done for Vision Pro, RUclips and Netflix not bringing apps for it? Other video platform experiences suck cause they don’t have like that awesome cinema experience like the Apple TV app? This is how they get around it. All videos can be taken off of webpages and be presented just like a video like in the Apple TV app, with full support for environments and even the movie theater scene

As they were flying through the updates… I kept checking the timestamp and seeing how far we were in… And the more platforms we kept on going through the more I was getting blown away by how much time they were probably gonna save with the AI stuff and when the AI stuff was being announced it was never ending. Regarding background replacement, Jon is just wrong here. No one is using background replacement in FaceTime to simulate movie-quality green screening. Most people only do it to hide what is ACTUALLY behind them in the room. I teach online, and I use a background replacement to hide my kids when they run behind me or to just hide the wall in my bedroom (where I conduct lessons). I haven't asked, but I am pretty sure that my students don't think that I am on Mars, really riding a roller coaster during lessons, or am sitting in the vast darkness of a black hole. I think Jon is really overthinking the type of people that use these features. Professionals are going to use a true green screen, they aren't using the Apple-provided background removal.
the only reason apple FINALLY gave pretty much all the features we've been demanding for years is because of how raw theyre ramming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 users with the AI not being on it even though the M1 Macs will. that whole RAM argument is one of the hardest copes ive ever seen iPhone users come up with too.

Apple engineers were busy wasting time and money on the discontinued Apple Car project. Now that the project is gone, it’s time for them to get busy and update, innovate, and wow us with what they can actually do to make their current and future products technologically advanced, superior, and second to none. Hopefully that will be realized this fall
I agree Jon that Apple embracing AI is a shift for the industry because it will make it mainstream even though technology wise. AI needs a memory to be super powerful so the way that Apple hides your IP and doesn’t store data is not a great thing for usability. Chat GPT memory is incredible and makes magical experiences.
That bubble image generation things is kinda strange. I don’t think that will be a thing that’s used a lot.
I dislike the gradients, and this isn’t the theming I wanted. Being able to get icon packs would have been better. I get the branding and marketing. But if they wanted the gradients to work better they should have had an option to tint based on the wallpaper and dynamically change with each wallpaper, I have different wallpapers for each focus mode and the tint that might look ok with one does not look ok with another. Seems like a major miss.
What is actually interesting is that Apple almost allows more customization than Google as Google has lost its way. I moved to Apple as they forced a widget in my Home Screen I couldn’t remove and it wasn’t even a good widget.
