Btw DoorDash does give a base pay, but usually it is tiny. Like around $2 for a 2 mile trip. So if no tip is given on that order, the amount of time and gas spent on that order literally loses you money, and those are about 90% of DoorDash orders for drivers

I’ve finally reached the age where the new-gen vocabulary makes zero sense. Hearing TikTok slang like “glazing” and “rizz” makes me physically recoil from the pure cringe of it 😂 on a serious note, I think Jon’s take on public opinion on the internet is so accurate. We’ve entered an era of impatient, entitled, self-centered, and drama-fueled pessimism where no one takes anyone else’s opinions and critically thinks about them before determining that it is a lie if it's not hateful. Which is kind of ironic considering how they claim to be be the most accepting generation yet, but fail to accept that not everyone shares the same opinion, and that, largely, that is perfectly fine. His videos have always been fair, and he has been open about how his opinions can change after more thought or use. It's heartbreaking to see that future generations are less interested in conversation and genuine human thoughts and more interested in hate-filled and potentially made-up drama. I hope they can gain some common sense and hone their ability to think before blurting the first negative thought they can.

I did DoorDash for like two years. There’s barely ANY base pay and the more you tip, the less base pay you get. PLEASE tip your dashers
I was so excited for Vision Pro at first, then it took them a year to bring it to Canada then priced it at 4999 (without tax) for the 256GB. AppleCare for it here is nearly $700, so like a bit over $6,000 after taxes and AppleCare. DOA since nobody here can barely afford food, housing or gas to get to work.

I briefly did Uber eats and base pay for an order on average was like $3-5 before tips depending on distance so yeah the tip really makes or breaks it.

Sam you need to tip more. A 2 dollar tip is not worth it. They are most likely excepting your order cause they feel like that have to, after denying other bad runs.
Sam in my area the base pay doesn’t cover our gas/ car repairs. Not to mention I’ve gotten into accidents while dashing so it’s literally a risk to our lives. Not saying all regions are like this but in my area the base pay would be $3 to go 10 miles. If you tipped $1 and I saw $4 to go 10 miles that wouldn’t be worth it.
Again it’s completely regional so you being in California might get a higher base pay. In RI it’s too low. John ask a dasher what his base pay is for your order.

It’s crazy how little apple actually updated all the OS versions. All the stuff is coming later
What has me curious, is if older iPhones, iPads, Macs in addition to watch, TV and HomePods all get the private cloud compute and ChatGPT integration for Siri, even if they do not get the Apple Intelligence on-device features themselves? That would significantly soften the angry crowd.
Have you guys realised that ai doesn't need to run on apple watch natively on hardware, if it can communicate with iPhone in your pocket... All llm and lam can run on iPhone and then the answers and response can be wirelessly communicated via watch.

I did want to point out that all the features in the first half of WWDC, our machine learning capabilities on multiple older iPhones, and those features will roll out regardless. it is only the new higher level AI features that require a minimum of 8 GB of ram and a higher processor
Also, could Apple do software updates in the HomePod and watch where it will utilize the iPhone or iPad to process the artificial intelligence questions and send back the response to those devices?

The only reason that releasing some AI feature next year could be a good thing, is that it opens the door for Apple to more regularly update Apple Intel. Having to wait a whole year, every year, for features in a very fast-moving area of the tech space could hurt them.
I hope that we’ll start getting Winter Events that will add more updates to Apple Intel, instead of having to wait for summer every year
The Vision Pro will cost £3500 in the UK, which is about $4500 and in Europe, it will be €4000 which is also about $4500

Today I read on the Apple website that as a luxembourgish guy, I’ll have to want for Vision Pro to be released in my country, because of the non-existant compatibility with foreign AppleIDs even inside of the EU.
1:21:04 That’s the problem with these delivery apps and the driver. Customers have no idea what the driver goes through they think the drivers gets paid from the order so they don’t need to tip. The driver is probably getting $2-3 base pay for an order no matter what the miles are. The extra fees and all, none of that is going to the driver only the base pay and the customer tip. These apps need to educate customers better and also pay drivers more, a lot of drivers are frustrated with these orders but some people have no choice but to continue to do it in the mean time hoping to get people that will actually tip in between the bad orders

I’m not small, and didn’t even comprehend that it was an option to NOT buy a bunch of food.

The issue I have with Apple Intelligence is that it is being made available on only the latest Pro iPhone. I understand that the base iPhone models are "poor people iPhones", but I mean they just made the current generation (base) iPhone obsolete even though my Macbook Air from 2020 is going to get it. Doesn't make sense to me.

Taco Bell somehow makes food products that’s just a collection of ingredients rather than a whole meal, and yes I know that sounds like what cooking/food is, but somehow they do it wrong. The things they put together do not mesh into one cohesive thing.

that’s what bothered me is all features not arriving yet.. So, I’m sticking with iPhone 14 Pro until iPhone 17 probably arrives… so much wait for features that will be launched next WWDC and some other will be announced in that same week… same as you were complaining about VisionOS 2 environments announced… Apple is falling into announcing things that are not ready yet..
Also I usually stagger my podcast until my work week to keep me busy but this is one of those podcast i just gotta listen to asap 😂. Y’all funny as hell. This podcast went off the rails towards the end 😂
When did they start charging for replacements thru AppleCare? My 14 pro max I thought had touch issues due to new technology they didn’t charge me for a replacement.
Cracked my 13 pro max they replaced the screen forgot to plug in the earpiece then replaced the phone didn’t charge me.
I’ve never been charged for replacement devices.
It’s also because Apple wasted time, money, and engineering resources on the discontinued Apple Car project, demonstrating that they truly have a portion of their 3trillion dollar worth to burn which is not surprising considering the increasing cost of their products

I think it makes a lot of sense to announce updates in advance. They want things to come out when they are ready, and a steady drop of features is better than dropping it all at once
Shareholders need to question Apple Management as to what their engineers are doing and why they’re not paying attention to the Vision Pro and other products to make them live up to and beyond their promissed expectations. This sounds like the behavior of the investors of the AI PIN where it seems that they just said “here’s the money “ and just didn’t check on their investment and when or if they did check, it was too late
Vision OS 2 Environments is a joke. Like how long does it take to render an island in a lake or a bog? The ultra wide monitor release should have been rolled out last week. Nothing about it is a 2.0 update. I try to use it once a day to justify the spend, but I struggle with it.

I don’t understand why you are upset that some of the features won’t come until 2025. It is clear that these features must be announced at this year’s WWDC so that they can appear in the period until the next WWDC. When else should these features be presented, if not at the developer conference?

What do you mean a marketing thing.... Eyesight is an amazing concept and feature, it's what everyone else lacks. It makes the Vision Pro feel like wearing a ski goggle. Yes it's not perfect yet, but by the time it looks natural and accurate, you are going to have the illusion of actual eye contact, and that's the difference between sunglasses and regular glasses. You don't think someone speaking to you while wearing glasses is rude, but you would think so if they have sunglasses on right?

Could you imagine asking your home pod for something using AI (like a good recipe) and then after you got your results you could say “send results to phone” and then it would send it to your phone so you had the recipe so you could take a list to the grocery store to get your supplies or for anything else. That would be sick!!

For me personally if you are all positive it's hard to tell if that's truthful. believe for products from apple would be the good and the bad, in my opinion that is what tells me it's honest. If you review a product and it's only positive it's harder to believe it as honest. Even if it's just a nick-pick nothing is perfect so a all positive review with 0 negativity/criticism feels not honest to me personally.

Completely agree with Jon. Everything he says is just common sense. Generative AI whatever you wanna call it is a new technology and requires higher compute especially if your doing most of it on device. Thankfully the 15 pros barely made it so it can run these LLMs practically. Gotta start somewhere like Jon said and that somewhere is the 15 pros. I too will be surprised if the whole 16 lineup isn’t compatible. It will be messed up at that point. I’ll give Apple a pass this time but any hardware they announce from the point should be compatible with Apple intelligence
