I listen to this every few days. PTX broke that unspoken rule of not listening to holiday music until after we've stuffed ourselves with Thanksgiving dinner and crawled up on the roof to the string the colored lights. I love this. I put it on replay for - I don't know how many times - and it always leaves me smiling. The way this cover was put together is stunning. This is PTX all grown up and it shows!!!!!💙💚❤️💜🩵
His name is Matt Sallee, he is THE Bass singer for Pentatonix, he has been with them for 7 years and he is brilliant. Period. They are all spectacular, this is a new PTX, a whole other level and it is beautiful to see and hear. T ✌🏻

For sure! She's amazing. Hey, do you have any idea why PTX is the only artist the blocks my content worldwide? Other artists may block if I show both visuals and audio, however, with PTX even just the audio blocks it. I had to dispute this reaction, however, any day now this video may no longer be watchable after they review the dispute. Why are they so strict with their content I wonder.
@@NewfieReactionsI think we can see the video too well. You might need to be more opaque or put some visual modifier (people do rain drops or squiggles)
@@NewfieReactions It does seem to be a consistent issue for most reactors. I don't know why their label is so protective of them specifically, unless there's a lot of extra copyright around acapella stuff because they're technically using other people's songs? Have you noticed that it's the same with their original works? I wonder if part of the condition of being able to rearrange existing songs is additional layers of protection around redistribution. Otherwise, no idea!

Yes, the dead silence at the beginning of the video freaks a lot of people out - I've seen I-don't-know-how-many reactors stop and restart the video, thinking they've got the volume muted!
Matt really steals the video for me - between him and Kirstin's belts at the end, they really make the whole thing work!
Every time you think they can't raise the bar they do. This time I think they destroyed the bar and the stand it was on. Built another stand even higher and then placed a new bar.
The amount of core strength and breath control that was required of Kirstie (such a goddess) cannot be underestimated. That is hard to do.
The first time I heard this one it just stunned me into silence. I couldn't talk, could barely think or breathe.

I think one of the things I like the most about PTX is the feeling that they put into their Christmas songs. It's almost like the words are so clear and heartfelt that I feel them for the first time.

This has always been my favorite Christmas song ever. Celine Dion's version has always been the best, in my opinion. UNTIL Pentatonix blew us all away with this masterpiece. And I am a massive Celine fan, so to oust her from my #1 spot (just to #1.5, not too far, mind you) takes incredible work and talent.

It's been a while since I've been to your channel, and a while since you've reacted to any Avi Kaplan solo music (boy, are you behind on that!). Back during his US/Canada tour in 2022, Avi had to postpone the 3 Texas concerts due to a family emergency. The three concerts were moved to the tail end of the tour, shortly before Christmas, so as a special thank you to Dallas, Houston and Austin, he did something he hadn't done since leaving PTX - a Christmas song. On the fly, he arranged a special Texas twist version of "O Holy Night" and performed it as the final encore at the 3 shows. This is FifGenTexan's audience video of the Houston performance. While I LOVE their version ... I have to admit there are two versions that makes me cry .... A. Celine Dion's & B. Josh Groban's ... you should listen to both of theirs.
While I was looking for a version for my Christmas playlist I ruled out Groban's because he skips a couple lines that are too high for him. I like Celine's though.
They all did it better.
There is no way to compare the quality of the individual members of Pentatonix. Scott is the best baritone. Matt is the best bass. Kirstin is the best alto soprano. Mitch is the best contratenor. Kevin is the best percussionist. It's comparing apples to oranges to apricots to plums to pineapples, and ignoring the fact that the fruit salad tastes delicious.
