I was thinking the same thing but I don't wanna spend 500 and it don't work well. I would rather spend 1000 and get big screen beyond or barko aero and for sure it's going to work well
I've ordered two quest 3 headsets and in the process of setting up second sim rig. Ordered the quest 3 for purposes other than sim racing. Using it for sim racing is double bonus
Having done absolutely 0 research on the matter, I thought the cable is effectively a display connector. Didn't know it does compression and decompression. That being said. Don't pre-order anything. It allows companies to be lazy knowing they will get money for whatever garbage they shovel out anyway.
Most VR headsets you would be correct they normally have a USB cable and a DisplayPort and the graphics card does all the work but not on any version of the quest, it only has a USB cable so the footage has to be compressed to be sent through then the quest has to uncompress then display the image
I have not used VR yet and I´ll try the Qeust 3. But how much is the delay? On a screen you usually have like 1ms - is it similar in VR (connected directly to PC)? Does it affect the gameplay in a bad way?
Playing games natively on the quest you wouldn’t notice a delay, connecting to the PC via USBC cable you may notice a little delay depending on the type of game you’re playing
I‘d love to see a sim racing review of the Quest 3.
Ive ordered it, I should get it on release day and I’ll be working to get videos out asap
@@JasonStorm Please hurry up.
@@SJkopa I won’t have the headset until tomorrow

Part of me is hopeful that it’s amazing for sim racing so I can sell my PCVR headsets but we’ll see

from what i’ve seen owning the quest 2 for multiple years mEtA sucks at making things, just buy a headset not made by them
