There are some other good membranes out there - I rate Sympatex for example, but Gore is still the best and has continued to improve its membranes abilities over the years 👍🏻 I just wish they were more candid with the performance stats- something missing in all area of outdoor 🤔 (with the possible exception of sleeping bags ☺️)- enjoy your outdoors time- Andy 🏕🏔🌀
@@WildcraftBritain Yh that is right you just get that it has it or not. The problem for me is trying the other types of membranes I am sort of taking a risk and have been let down before in the past, so I end up just always going with GORE-TEX as I know it will not let me down. 👍
Glad you found it useful 👍🏻 I have owned an early version, (and they are still in use), and they did very well, but where used for urban mostly so I can’t say they had a Scottish mountain test 🏔🤔 I would say they offer excellent value but don’t expect them to perform like a premium glove- that said, in hard wet conditions, what ever you ware the water gets in eventually and once the outer is saturated your sweat will accumulate as breathability effectively drops to zero (and hands sweat a surprising amount)🌨 enjoy your outdoors time Andy 🏕🌀
@@WildcraftBritain thanks Andy for getting back to me. I mainly hike in the Lakes and Snowdon range and looking for a winter glove that gives the dexterity but then provides the warmth when temperatures get cold/freezing point. Came across this one in the sales for £24/£30 and the Dry for £15/£20. Are there other brands you recommend? I am impressed with the value for money Trekmates offer
@@IrfanOomer gloves are a difficult one 🤔 as with most outdoor items you get what you pay for- just be wary of false price pointing 🤬 Trekmates are worth the price in my experience and I also rate Rab gloves ☺️
@@IrfanOomer like all clothing I would advise trying it on first for fit and an examination for purpose, for example you might want it to fit with a liner glove, which i would recommend in a winter mountain glove 👍🏻🏔
Sounds really good! I definitely agree GORE-TEX is the best hands down! Rob 👍

Thanks 🙏 glad you liked it ☺️ enjoy your outdoors time ⛰🌀
They look fantastic....I need a good waterproof winter glove
Hi Bob- they are a good pair of winter weight gloves 🥶🏔 tried and tested 😉🌀
Thanks for this. How are the Trekmates Dry Gloves range compared to this?

@@WildcraftBritain thanks, much appreciated. May be better if I go have a look in store first and then decide on one
