Love your vibe and approach to products. It hurts my stomach when I see other creators only promoting new, new, new makeup, buy and consume endlessly...Once you realize, you have all you need and dupe the vibe as HLP says, you are over with the stomach ache! Thank you for your content and video!
I feel that they are trying to make money off of me but also feel sorry when i see them struggling to keep up with all the new releases, i think that a mix of using older products to create content and content featuring new products is where it's at in the long term.
I love when creators talk about previous products, shop their stash, highlight those classics. It makes the content more trustworthy, have more integrity, be more authentic in my opinion, and here's why - When creators are always reviewing the new stuff and never circling back to the old, it makes me wonder if they were honest when they gave a previous product a glowing review, if they never seem to use it again? Yes, creators have access to more products than the usual viewer, but we wanna know what insights the creator has gained from those experiences, what creators keep turning back to, and how it all compares, NOT just what they think of new stuff, particularly if it's usually in a positive light. If they just keep doing only new stuff, it really makes the creator seem like a talking head for the brands / industry / platform, and I believe them less. Thank you for your content!!!! XOXO Queen!
I got sheer Goldie Red during the savings event, and been waddling around so happy finally able to wear a red lipstick without feeling I'm DTM. (Doing the most, for the newbies.) I recently swapped my gently used Natasha Denona pastels palette for the cool and warm Roen quads (she barely even swatched them 😭) and I've never been so pleased with my makeup decisions in my life. I wiped them with a paper towel, hit them with alcohol, and they're as good as new. I'm thriving despite the gloomy weather for once. I recently panned my heavy metals liner in disco daydream.. Silver holo is so hard to find, I'm surprised it's not viral! Pyro is another great shade! So underrated. Thank you for your channels presence. I attribute my laser like self awareness to seeing others doing the hard work directly. Slay! 🖖🏾🥂
I literally pulled out my Roen 52 Cool palette today. It’s the ultimate for “I need to wear makeup to feel like a human because I currently, decidedly do not feel like a human” palette… I think you’ve done a couple of videos about that concept recently. I’m the most shocked that these shadows are as good as always even after 2+ years! As always, loved the video
I have the Mood4ever quad, I don't know what the formula was like before the founder left the brand,) but I loooove that palette, I've hit pan on 3 of the 4 shades. They're still as good as they were almost 2 years ago.
In case someone from Germany watches - do you know a shop that sells the UD Moondust shadows? I can't seem to find them anywhere here. Per my self-imposed rules I'm allowed one makeup purchase this season. This year I started to rotate my makeup by putting it on top of my vanity, as to use it more regular. Because there are some products I tend to forget, if they're not in my direct line of sight that I still love dearly. Rediscovering my collection this year is really fun. I have an old MAC blush in Breezy, my all-time favourite, that's been discontinued for years now, that I use sparingly, because I'm afraid of paning it completely. But on the other hand makeup is there to be used and to have fun with it. It's an oldie but goldy, that always brings me joy. I love your look 😍
I had always struggled with wanting more and wanting new, but what was the worst - wanting makeup that is popular and considered beautiful, even though it wouldn't suit my features or my personal style. I'd say thanks to your approach, Hannah, I realize I absolutely CAN stick to what I enjoy and find my confidence in - even if it's dyeing my hair the out-of-fashion black or wearing a brick red / plum brown lipstick no matter the season. I also found many favourites that make me reluctant to buy (hoard) new products. Thank you!
I’m in such a lather over Lisa Eldridge’s eyeshadows. warm or cold, belle epoch or ethnobotany, every last thing, only the brushes?! This was a perfect tonic for the mania. Thank you!❤
Yeah, wow, I want all of those. I don't need them but something about the shade names, her inspirations sold me on it. I'd love to see HLP review some. Also I NEED that Pompadouor lipstick...
@@cinemaocd1752 ahah yes, Lisa is a master and everything sounds super appealing. I will go with the pinky one and maybe add shades later if I like the formula. Hanna, will you be reviewing any of them?
I love Lisa, I watch her videos but I’ve never purchased her products because they are simply more than I want to pay - $32.00 for a lipstick - no thanks. I’ll wait for an Ultra sale on Smashbox (I love their lipstick). Hannah has shown us how to find similar shades in products we already own. I have makeup enough for years and I live in a small place so if I buy something I have to get rid of something. I no longer buy things I don’t need or don’t love so I don’t get rid of something lightly. Having ALL my makeup in one small bathroom drawer is oddly liberating.
About 6 years ago a declutter and over the years my make up is extremely curated to only things I actually use weekly ( few fancy stuff for special occasions) it’s all a small drawer . Instead of 6 huge drawers . You helped me to come to terms with being honest and not jumping on to everything. Only when I have to replace something do I buy it . I no longer want to have a collection as you want to use it all up to get your moneys worth. I gave away a lot of make up as I realized real self . 1 foundation 1 concealer 1 eyeshadow Pallete 1 bronzer 2 highlighters 5 eyeliners 7 lipliners 7 lipsticks 1 mascara 3 brow stuff

Honestly it got to be Colourpop DGAF. My eye situation is kind of unfortunate in that my eyes are both really hooded and my brow is quite low. I used to try and do intricate eyelooks and be so disappointed that they were practically invisible. Your channel and makeup style is the reason why I started experimenting with all shimmer looks. I've discovered that I can just smear a shimmer on my lid, just patting it with my finger to blend and get a very strong effect. And DGAF just makes the colour of my eyes really stand out.
What perfect timing for a classic HLP video! I just busted out my Ritual de Fille balm in Wasp and used it as a primer for a yellow eyeshadow look instead of using it like a blush, as I have done in the past. Lovely to see a Roen quad in a video again as well!
Also I'm always amazed at you prep your base and conceal etc. I'm still trying to find a brown girl on you tube that can show me. Hannah your base is always goals and inspirational as I'm still struggling with acne dark spots and normal to oily skin! However now that the season is changing my skin is getting dry in my usual oily spots and PEELING. Anywho THANK YOU HANNAH for showing us YOUR SKIN with no filter. It does wonders for people like me and makes me a bit more comfortable we all have texture etc.
I just want to tell you that I LOVE you channel. I just found it 5 days ago and watched lots of your videos. I have very bad shopping habits and you truly inspire me to do better and that it’s possible to appreciate what you already have, thank you for that! ✨🌸
So many of these products are a blast from the past - I ended up picking up quite a few of them from your reviews back then! The wet n Wild Glass Correct Green Primer is my holy grail primer, I've been on a roen quad kick everytime I want to look effortlessly pretty and the elf big mood mascara gives me all the drama I could ask for. So fun to see products that I've loved in my collection used again here on the channel where I first discovered them!
Love this, thank you ❤ i stopped using my Roen palettes as I work in a supermarket and kinda felt that they were a “bit much” for working day to day and “OTT” for a school run or days off. Just now realising I don’t actually care, they bring me such joy so why shouldn’t I use them haha thank u HLP. Love your vibe and content 😊❤
I used that glass correct this morning. I somehow bought two tubes and gifted one to a friend. The madness spreads...I also used my Pat McGrath 6 pan Interstellar this morning. Still slays! I had a bit of buyers remorse when I got it because I felt like the blue shade was too weak sauce and that was the reason I bought the palette, but tthe matte gray and the golds keep me reaching for it as an everyday go-to.
I really like the revisiting old favorites, and how it helps you decide if it's time to let go of some things that don't fit your current routine/style. I enjoy seeing the decision process.
I be pulled out my old Roen pallet recently, and couldn’t believe they were all still in perfect condition! I have heard that they might’ve changed the formulas, I hope it’s not true, because these babies really withstood the test of time!
After literal years of swooning over the Roen quads I finally picked one up a couple months back and it's everything I thought it would be. It did not change my life, because, hey, it's eyeshadow, but it's brought a bit of no-fuss joy into my life. My husband also impulse gifted me a trio of Gucci lipsticks, including Goldie Red in that formula and I'm so happy. Just wearing color and having fun.
Urban Decay makes a lot of "forever slays" imo. Their 24/7 Glide On eye pencils are perfect for people who aren't adept at applying eyeshadow but still appreciate a lil razzle dazzle 🌟
I would be interested in a self sponsored review of subscriber favourites from Mac as I know it is a brand you do not tend towards but many have OG products they go to. The mineralized face powder is a staple for me.
Awesome!!! Thank you for pulling out old makeup!! We all have soooo much and feel like we just need new! We don’t, I love being able to appreciate and use all the makeup in my collection! ☺️
sometimes we lose focus on all the amazing things we used to have or tried before in the search for all the shiny new new. great pics for oldies but goldies makeup
This video is just what I needed as holiday shopping pressure has picked up! I pulled out the Nabla Dreamy 2 palette recently after it had been collecting dust, and now it’s all I want to use for sheer, shimmery eye looks 🥰
I love this video!!! I just haven’t been inspired by new launches lately. I am still loving my fenty Eaze drops for base and the hourglass glitters for my eyes lately!
My oldie that will ALWAYS slay is the Tom Ford cream and powder eye color in Young Adonis. I don't even think they make it anymore and I will be bereft when I'm out.
One of my oldest palettes is PMG subliminal and I actually lost it for a while. It makes so happy to have it back in my life, along with NARS manhunt which I think is now discontinued but which I deeply adore all the same
I remember how hard you fell for the Róen quads when you first bought them, and it was really fun to see you fall in love with them all over again. I think rediscovering our own collections is not only really fun, but also really healthy and necessary in todays society of consumerism and constant newness.
You look so pretty Hannah! While I don't have these products I can always do my best to dupe the vibes. Your taste in Jewelery is always on point!!!! And I love the white top with the jewelry it just compliments you so well!
I’ve had a sudden (and much needed and thoughtfully curated) influx of makeup. And I’m overwhelmed. Our tiny bathroom just doesn’t accommodate it well in a way that honors the beauty I’ve collected. But then I just thought, what would HLP do? And I am going to shop my stash and created a makeup capsule that I switch out every couple weeks. I’m hoping it will help me get to know some of these new products better and understand how they relate to what I already have. And it will keep the novelty flowing.
Ooo I absolutely love this look on you! As I was watching it I was thinking of what I have to create this look. I have all the products I need to create this! They aren’t any of the same products you have, but they’re similar, and will give me the same look! I really love the challenge of recreating looks from your videos, with completely different products. 😊 Challenge accepted! 😊
This is so odd! I have been seeing influencers talking about purging and buying less. Wanting to start featuring older products on their channels. It always gets me thinking about these ROEN quads. Back when I was happily purchasing makeup at a pace that put me into debt, your first review of the ROEN quads was so alluring that I bought all 4. I love them dearly! I always wonder if you still love them. I am excited to see more influencers using the 100 pallets that they helped convince me to buy over the last couple years. New looks for my large collection. Especially since I’m not buying anymore!
Girl that Armani neo nude blush is positively NEW in my eyes!! (I think it released around a year ago) I was expecting to see glossier dusk or the white fenty highlight or something!! I think I just need to watch some 2019 videos haha 😮
Oldies but betters for me are the L'Oreal True Match powder (lots of shades from ultra fair to deep, creamy, not cakey, velvety natural finish that cannot be beat - hit the road Lisa's Cloud Set!) and the Fenty Diamond Bomb highlight (everyone bought it and decluttered it but are now rolling around kicking and screaming over tiny little overpriced pans of eyeshadow that impart the exact same sheer glittery topcoat...) And a personal favourite that I'll always go back to is MAC Lady Danger because it's the most flattering orangey red in a formula that never lets me down. I can spend my days trying to purchase new lip products to top it, but nothing will ever compare.
Years ago when I was in the market for a new eyeshadow quad, you convinced me to get the Roen Cool 52. And then when I was looking for a new nude lipstick, I picked up Gucci A Royal Scandal on your suggestion. These are some of my favorite and most-used pieces of makeup! So thank you - not only for your recommendations but also for this thoroughly enjoyable video with “old friends” 😉💕
lol I kept thinking -what these products are all pretty new! Then I thought about it a little bit more and I guess I'm a long term watcher! love your channel :)
i'm so glad to have found your content - you're refreshing and i love watching someone who has an approachable, grounded philosophy when it comes to beauty and fashion. something that i've got that's old, and i mean OLD, are my MAC eyeshadow palettes. from back when i bought almost every color and put them in the pro palettes to make my own. they are one of the OGs for wild colors and dependable neutrals, and they still slay hard as hell. ps. i think we have matching lamp stands!
Can we get an encore? Elf Camo concealor in Satin and my Sigma palettes are my old goodies. Ive also been really enjoying my Dirty Martini and Chocolate Martini palettes now that I've learned to use a primer with them. Auric Smoke Reflects. I love to use the powder shade as a brow bone highlight in Defiance in my eye looks and Temper is just gorgeous. Gives me Pillow Talk vibes.
I have tried a lot of high end hydrating/color correcting primers and they did nothing!! I absolutely love the Wet n Wild glass primer in green!! I had never heard of it before! Great recommendation!!
I love the Roen shadows-I bought the cool and warm back in the day, and mixed together the shadows to arrive at my ideal colors, and then pressed them back into the pans. Still use them!
I’ve actually been pulling out my roen quads over the last week too! I’ve gotten some of the new ones that arent all the glitter formula and they pretty blah, not as good since Nikki left, and 75 degrees is truly the best of them all!
All of these products you used are such throw backs to vintage HLP looks and this whole look is a vibe! Something I have owned for a good while that I love is my blush from Marc Jacobs in flesh and fantasy. Its still so gorgeous and going strong and I always kick myself for neglecting it. Drugstore wise, my Annabelle smooth liners. They hold up so well and hold up with my high end ones. And I just walked away from my Lisa Eldridge cart. I want a couple lipsticks but I don't need them. And the new stuff I am unsure on or talked myself out of so I am going to play with some lipsticks tomorrow so I can hopefully quell my desire for more.
My oldie banger is Estée Lauder lipliner in fig. Holy wow it’s amazing. I remember reading that it was Jennifer Aniston’s go to lip liner in a magazine when I was young and BAM! It’s the stuff- a perfect, beachy, neutral browny taupe mauve. Its something I will continue to repurchase and not look for newer or better, because nothing else compares or probably ever will🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I remembered all these products, and it was nice to see them again. My old faithful piece of makeup is the Mally shadow stick in purple, which I wear 3 times out of 4 that I wear makeup. It’s the perfect not-too-bright-but-dark-enough color for me, and really easy to apply. BUT . . . I have to admit that the new Lisa Eldridge eyeshadow palettes got me. I just ordered the Myth one for my wife to give me for Christmas. Did you watch her video and feel any stirrings?
Will we get a makeup inventory soon? I would love to see what your collection looks like atm! An older item from my collection that I will always love is the Milani blush in Petal Primavera. That colour was just made for my complexion
😂 so when I found your channel, Hannah, I loved your content and way of speaking and just everything so much that I went and watched the whole back catalog! So while I didn’t watch all of the videos in which these were featured right as they came out, I knew exactly what everything was 😳🤭
I would love to see some B roll footage of your look, especially in videos like this centered on makeup performance and results, in different light, like natural light or even lower inside lights!! love ur looks sm, i wanna channel you at all moments possible (but especially when putting on makeup)
This was so fun! It’s kind of wild to see your old makeup and realize how long I’ve been faithfully watching your videos 😄 a bit like reconnecting with old friends! I’m also a project panner, so I’m all about going back and getting use out of older products.
I bought that wet n wild primer because of your recommendation (and because I needed a green primer and didn’t have one- don’t worry you didn’t cause me to overconsume for no reason!) and I love it! I use it almost every time I use a primer
Perfect timing and inspiration - I’ve been waiting for the cool weather so I can break out my Roen quads! Here in Florida they just melt off my face in summer. Lol.
Picked up elf Big Mood mascara recently and I looooove it. I got the waterproof version because I have oily skin and it’s honestly perfect for me. Big fluffy lashes that never ever flake or smudge! And it’s 8 bucks! 🎉😊 Thanks so much for recommending that! An oldie that still slays is the NYX Brow Glue. I tried other more expensive and supposedly better options and the soap brow thing and nothing gives me the hold I need like the NYX for my crazy, slightly curly brows.
My skin gets really dry in the fall & the spring, I also seem to get more breakouts. besides dryness, I have pretty good skin for 40years old. BUT when the seasons change I make a mask of coconut oil & baking soda. The coconut oil deeeeeepiy helps hydrate the layers of dry skin while the baking soda acts as a physical exfoliant while helping to restore your ph balance. I mix them in my hand (do this right out of the shower.) I work it in for a couple minutes, let it sit 10-15 & then rinse....it's amazing!!!!
Be careful - coconut oil is quite comedogenic. The mask sounds lovely I would just try it with a different oil. I have breakout-prone skin and I can’t even use coconut oil in my hair, I will break out along my hairline. 😮
Love your vibe and approach to products. It hurts my stomach when I see other creators only promoting new, new, new makeup, buy and consume endlessly...Once you realize, you have all you need and dupe the vibe as HLP says, you are over with the stomach ache! Thank you for your content and video!

They buy it for views and then declutter barely used makeup for even more views… makes me sick sometimes 😢
So true - way too much for just one face 😮
Throw in a dash of Tom Ford Naked Bronze and a sprinkle of Polene bag, and then you’ve got a full-fledged recipe for classic HLP 💁♀️
Recently got the smaller bronzer from TF- was mildly disappointed to see HOW much smaller it is than the older, classic bronzer. Same price. 😞
I LOVE seeing older products that people love and go back to again and again. THOSE are the ones worth knowing about. ❤❤❤

Do what draws joy into your heart...makeup is fun 💕
I used that glass correct this morning. I somehow bought two tubes and gifted one to a friend. The madness spreads...I also used my Pat McGrath 6 pan Interstellar this morning. Still slays! I had a bit of buyers remorse when I got it because I felt like the blue shade was too weak sauce and that was the reason I bought the palette, but tthe matte gray and the golds keep me reaching for it as an everyday go-to.
Big Mood mascara! You turned me on to this. When it got old, I "treated" myself to a Lancome mascara. But I missed Big Mood!! That's how good it is.
Currently experiencing Tropical Storm Nicole in Florida, this is a nice distraction. Thank you.
I really like the revisiting old favorites, and how it helps you decide if it's time to let go of some things that don't fit your current routine/style. I enjoy seeing the decision process.
"I mean, my whole face is uneven." ME. TOO😂. Love you Hannah! 💜
Love the lip Hannah but I was low key expecting a Bobbi Brown Crushed lip in Bare or Telluride 😹🤍
Ur nails in this video are what truly "slay" and "ate"
my nails are eating other nails for breakfast
sometimes we lose focus on all the amazing things we used to have or tried before in the search for all the shiny new new. great pics for oldies but goldies makeup
LOVE using the awesome products I already have. This year I feel like there have been SO MANY makeup releases and it gets overwhelming
I feel like the Roen palettes are such an iconic HLP product. I always think of you when I use mine or look at it
Love my roen 11:11! Would really enjoy more content on the quads too ! :))
Hannah! I got into that green wet n wild primer because of you!
I love it, use it almost daily and I'm on my second tube!!!!
I greatly appreciate the "chapters" in your videos ❤️ Thank you so much for this 😘
I wore the same roen quad for my wedding makeup a few months ago! Such a beautiful product 🥰
my favorite oldie but goody products: ere Perez carrot color pots, Milani highly rated mascara, wet n wild liquid eyeliner
I cannot BELIEVE how much that eyeliner, distortion, enlarged the look of your eyes! SLAY!
This video is just what I needed as holiday shopping pressure has picked up! I pulled out the Nabla Dreamy 2 palette recently after it had been collecting dust, and now it’s all I want to use for sheer, shimmery eye looks 🥰
Mine is the kvd tattoo liner...I'm a weirdo that does a cat eye every time I do my makeup and it's an OLDIE classic that never fails.
Nothing weird about that, I love liner and do it almost daily as well, even over elaborate eyeshadow. It just makes everything look better imo.
Hannah I picked up the Roen quads after your reviews way back when… they slayyyyyy 🤍
Ah, the Roen quads. I saw these used by someone else recently and wondered if you still even had yours around. Such a classic HLP look.
You look so pretty Hannah! While I don't have these products I can always do my best to dupe the vibes. Your taste in Jewelery is always on point!!!! And I love the white top with the jewelry it just compliments you so well!
Hey girl! Love your video ideas! Very nice combinations that we don't see that often.
I’ve started doing this - even tho I have a relatively small collection - and I’ve found it really makes room for me to appreciate each item more. ❤
That glass skin primer is a favorite of mine, and it's all thanks to your recommendation! So affordable too, I couldn't be happier with it.
Girl that Armani neo nude blush is positively NEW in my eyes!! (I think it released around a year ago) I was expecting to see glossier dusk or the white fenty highlight or something!! I think I just need to watch some 2019 videos haha 😮
Roen 😍😍😍 and the wild n wet green primer will be my next beauty purchase - thanks Hannah for introducing these to me.
Oldies but betters for me are the L'Oreal True Match powder (lots of shades from ultra fair to deep, creamy, not cakey, velvety natural finish that cannot be beat - hit the road Lisa's Cloud Set!) and the Fenty Diamond Bomb highlight (everyone bought it and decluttered it but are now rolling around kicking and screaming over tiny little overpriced pans of eyeshadow that impart the exact same sheer glittery topcoat...)
And a personal favourite that I'll always go back to is MAC Lady Danger because it's the most flattering orangey red in a formula that never lets me down. I can spend my days trying to purchase new lip products to top it, but nothing will ever compare.
The Fenty Diamond Bomb highlighter is the greatest eye topper.. I love it still.
Must pull out my Roen 11:11 again. You inspired me Hannah!
I’m loving this look and revisiting products from the past that are fabulous
I love the Roen shadows-I bought the cool and warm back in the day, and mixed together the shadows to arrive at my ideal colors, and then pressed them back into the pans. Still use them!
This was so great. Just watching your technique “ piling it on” was like “Why not!” Loved ❤it.
My oldie & favorite is groundwork from Mac ! 🙌🏻
I’ve actually been pulling out my roen quads over the last week too! I’ve gotten some of the new ones that arent all the glitter formula and they pretty blah, not as good since Nikki left, and 75 degrees is truly the best of them all!
This is such a throwback to the good old HLP days. Please do more of this shopping/using your stash content again!
I love my Roen quads!! 💕
I love my Gucci lip i where it all the time. To the point I need a new one soon
YAY SO GLAD TO SEE YOUR FACE TODAY!
Your content rules. I still use a PML single shadow/Astral shade.. so good. It’s gratifying to shop my own stash.
Hi Hannah, love your style, and view of the beauty industry a lot. Can you please do an updated perfume collection? I would really love to see that. 💜
I love how excited you are, it made me excited too!!!Thank you for a great inspiration…I went to dig out my ROEN and UD NAKED HEAT palettes☺️
Its something I will continue to repurchase and not look for newer or better, because nothing else compares or probably ever will🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Stratia Liquid Gold for that compromised skin. Love you Hannah!!
On your recommendation, I bought the WNW green primer and absolutely love it. I’m on my third tube because it’s so good.
You never disappoint! Thanks
Me, watching HLP and eating my HLP zaatar-drenched eggy pancake, living my best life. 💜 Pure happiness.
Perfect timing and inspiration - I’ve been waiting for the cool weather so I can break out my Roen quads! Here in Florida they just melt off my face in summer. Lol.
I'm going through your No Buy playlist right now, so I found charming you returned to the Kevin Aucoin palette.
love your hair styled like this !
When you said back in the day about your Roen quads, I bought 2 because I loved how yours looked and I still use them every day lol
Love videos like this. Thank you!
This makes me want to go back and use products in my collection I've forgotten about!
This was so fun! I love when you feature drugstore makeup. 😊💜🌻🦋✨
Ohhh wow looking through products an have alot. Im working ill be back to view.
Video idea: "Girl in the Corner at a Party" Makeup
If I use coconut oil more than once a week my face starts to breakout. I don't have acne prone skin, & my skin loves it....every once in a while.
