On the other hands, it will not be easy for sevastepolas majority of the population are Ukrainian upper class who supports youchengo, they are a pro European union and prefer to be under the constitution of Europe. To put Sevastopol under control with the Russian constitution would be the real challenge. Russia, since 2014, has been trying to resolve the conflict peacefully, diplomatically for 8 years. However, the Minsk agreements, according to which the Donbass was to become part of Ukraine as autonomous Russian republics, no one wanted to fulfill. In 2021, Russia held talks with NATO in Switzerland. It is not surprising that when the diplomatic methods of solving the problem were exhausted, the war broke out. It couldn't have been otherwise. Always after the failure of the negotiations starts the war. As for Russia, for 8 years Russia tried to push the Donbass back into Ukraine, but Ukraine did not want to comply with the Minsk agreements and got a war. In fact, the Minsk agreements were a sham for Russia. Ukraine was given 8 years to prepare

In Crimea in 2014 and until 2014, 60% of the population were Russians, 24% Tatars and 16% Ukrainians. Russians in Crimea until 2014 were 60% of the population, and only 16% of Ukrainians. Crimea is an absolutely Russian territory, where the majority of the population is Russian, and Ukrainians are a minority of the population. It's just that Crimea, by mistake of the Soviet government, became part of Ukraine in 1954. But this is Russian territory. And in 2014, this Russian territory returned to its native harbor with the full support of the local population. And the Ukrainian army left the Crimea without a fight, giving it to our troops, which again proves that this is Russian territory. Because if it was Ukrainian land, the Ukrainians would not have given it away without firing a shot.

Interesting enough in 2014, the same year that Russia annexed Crimea, Alaskans file a petition to leave the US and rejoin Russia but the petition failed to reach the 25, 000 signatures in 30 days required for the white house to comment on it. However, in 2012 Texans files a similar petition to leave the union and it went past the 25,000 signature threshold and got to Obama's desk. The White House issued a 476-word response rejecting the idea. Just last year!, On January 26, 2021, the Texas Independence Referendum Act (HB 1359), a bill to provide for referendum on secession, was filed by Texas House member Kyle Biedermann. The bill was referred to the State Affairs committee but it was never given a hearing or voted on by the committee before the end of the session.

@Fabian Kirchgessner It's not foreign it's theirs. Crimea is Russian since 1783 when Russian defeated Ottomans the same way Ottomans won Constantinople in 1453(now Istanbul since the 1930s). Now in 1954 it was given from Russian Soviet to Ukraine Soviet, a change within the same country! Now they are not the same country, Crimeans protested and voted democratically to be part of Russia again, so why even denying their rights. Not to mention Russian is the dominant language in the region and not Ukrainian(65% Russian and 15% Ukrainian). Should I go on...

    1. Join Russia
    2. Be independent (a pro Russian government would likely be formed if the Crimean chose this option)
Both options worked in Russias favor and there was no option to stay in Ukrane. The entire thing was illegal anyways, you can't invade Crimea and then give them a stupid referendum.

If you’re saying it’s fair, check the photos of Donbas pro-Russian protests from 2014, and compare them to Kherson pro-Ukraine one’s. You’ll be surprised to learn how many people were paid to protest in Donbas
