I'm still traumatized by the opening scene. It was terrifying to me. The isolated farm house, the snow, the mysterious car that pulls up... Just chilling.

This dude has got something special in the way he makes films.. some of them haven’t been my favorites but they were still entertaining and shot incredibly well and different. Gretel Hansel for instance.. hope he keeps them coming.

The Blackcoat's Daughter impressed me so much. Perkins and Monroe, and Cage should be outstanding.

Seriously dude. Bet this was crazy for her. Really happy for Maika, she deserves the recognition for her talent. Perkins is a mad man lol, I can only light a candle in hopes more twisted opportunities come his way.

some critique. The movie falls into so many cliches, the devil as a misty goat figure, the ending where exactly what we suspect would happen happens, no explanation about the cage character, some plot holes there regarding the letters (why does he even write them in code?). Giving away too fast and too often key points, like the fact that his is a satanist, (they said it like 6 times) keeping all of that more vague and less pre-chewed up for the audience is left to be desired. Also, dolls, do scary dolls not get old? Really love her acting and the build up and skillful shots for the most part up until the last scenes. So much wasted potential for a great film and not just a good thriller here. Did we not learn anything from the great horror writers? The unknown is what terrifies. 7.2/10

    SO-
THE FIRST 45 MINUTES I FELT LIKE THE MOVIE WAS A RUN-OF-THE-MILL CSI EPISODE
AT 60 IM THINKING (OK, THIS BETTER HAVE SOME LEGENDARY PAYOFF TWIST MEMORABLE END TO COMPENSATE FOR THE 60 MINUTES OF BOREDOM)
THEN, WHEN THEY THINK THEY'RE BEING EDGY AND CLEVER WITH THE 95% PREDICTABLE END, THIS WAS ME FOR THE LAST 30 MINUTES:
