This is just a gem. All the discussion about his creative process and about collaboration. The magic of editing. Nic Cage. Nic Cage’s mom. Thomas Harris’s grandmother. It’s fascinating shit. And I concur with Pete, Oz Perkins seems really cool! How wonderful for you both that you got to attend this AND ask questions/interact with him! Super inspiring stuff, guys. Love you both. ❤
16:21 Love this twofold. 1, I got to briefly work with Osgood on his next project “The Monkey”, and 2️⃣ , I was in Final Destination 5 😅. Out of all the random references he could have made. Bravo sir. 🫡
@@yourfaceistube, first of all… how cool to work with Osgood Perkins. Can’t wait to see The Monkey. Secondly, I find it so synchronous that you are commenting on our video of how random the references are bc you’re in Firefly Lane and that show was recommended to us by one of our subscribers bc they said we reminded them of the 2 girls in that show! Random and synchronous! Love that!
@@yourfaceistube haha I actually think we have a little bit of Tully and Kate in both of us. But I’d be curious to know what you think… you are the expert! 😜
It’s likely going to stream on Hulu since the movie was distributed by Neon and they have a multi year deal with Hulu, so they get first dibs on streaming rights. Fun facts for all.
Oz Perkins is such an interesting person. I’m looking forward to seeing this film after watching the Q&A and your review. I loved Perkins’ comments about families. Thank you for flying to San Francisco for us!! ❤😂 PS Yes, Nicholas Cage is brilliant!
16:49 - lol now that Perkins is directing Stephen King adaptation The Monkey under James Wan, he should also have to direct Insidious 6. ruclips.net/video/8pGDA9To3AA/видео.html
This guy 😂 anybody with old Hollywood money whose endlessly rewatched films like the shining, silence of the lambs, etc and who had decades to sit around and free write could have conceived of this film. Cage’s performance is interesting (though I still don’t know if he ultimately made the film better or not as anyone else would have played that role straight and I would have loved a rewrite nixing the expository ending coupled with an actor who was playing that character without Cage’s zaniness)… idk, This movie would have been really impressive had he done it in his thirties as a debut but what is he late forties? I walked out of the theater going: ok then. Another horror mixtape.
Dude wasn’t listening to any of the dialog from it.. it wasn’t “the scariest movies in 10 years” but it defiantly is scary you’re probably just into sucky movies 🤷♂️
You are right and there is a really dark story connected to this movie many aren’t aware of. Perkins and his friends have been stalking a woman for years who’s main Instagram Tag was Longlegs, She was also a musician which some could label androgynous glam rock/pop. Perkins and neon mock her with this movie. They are part of a dangerous network which stalks women
@@BullyMaguire4ever she knows the CEO of Neon and he became obsessed with her. You regular people have no clue 😂- Hyping up these low class film people as if they were gods
The writing is brilliant. You can tell the writer has been through a lot and he conveys that through his characters in a way that makes anyone who's been through some shit feel seen. That's rare and I think it's what makes this film special, along with how the actors bring it to life. Maybe the film wasn't perfect but terrible? Makes me wonder what you consider good
I wasn't a huge fan either. What didn't you like about it? For me, it was overhyped, and I was expecting more like a Seven or Silence of the Lambs. Very forgettable.
Trashy movie they made to mock a woman who made glam pop/rock music and her main Instagram tag was Longlegs. The director is a very sinister guy and many will never understand the shadow story behind this horrible movie
I could listen to this man talk for 30 years
He’s brilliant
He seems like a real cool dude. Really looking forward to seeing this movie!
He must be very proud of himself……

This is really interesting! Saw the film last night, and truly this guy is a genius.
Intelligent interesting guy. He's totally right about the conveyor belt stuff that gets churned out. Be different!

It’s funny that he felt he messed up the opening scene while filming because it is a great scene.

Saying there is “nothing there” on Netflix, is silly. I know what he is trying to say but he is being a hipster.

Agree the director only is famous because of his dad. Tells you what’s going on now in nepotism Hollywood
