Nick Cage doing a 60 minutes interview in 13 minutes is the most Nick Cage thing ever.
Gone in 13 minutes
The show is meant to be 60 minutes not the actual interview itself. Where have you been the last half century?
@@selfishstockton6123 Hey don't knock a man who can cram a half century in a show called 60 minutes and still leave 47 minutes for everyone else. That's generosity.
it takes 12 minutes to count all those seconds
I was thinking the same exact thing 13 minutes yep that's about the longest. Time you're going to get his attention before he starts going off on something now I would find it so amusing and I would just sit there for like hours maybe days observing him and there's a movie that came out last year I think about a fan that has like his whole life is surrounded around his love for Nick Cage is Obsession for him. And in the movie Nick Cage plays himself and he goes finally to visit this fanatic. I can't remember the name of it but it's definitely different movie but then again so is he. God bless his heart
He’s one of those rare actors. Even if the movie is bad you say it’s Nicolas Cage and you’re okay with it.
Nope. I'm not okay with it. If it gets less than 6 stars on IMDB, it's a no-go. Life is too short to waste watching crap movies.
He makes a movie, I go see it.
@@SnoopyDoofie My ‘fear’ of wasting my time and energy to watch a crap movie is so great that I just don’t like watching movies as much unless I’m sure it’s going to be about something I love.. I used to love movies, I seem to have been bitten by the documentary bug somewhere along the road because I can’t get enough of watching documentaries as long as it’s not the crap that discovery and history plays these days.
@@SnoopyDoofie your pick of the week?
@@SenseiBlue considering how much I use swear words without sometimes even noticing it sounds like something interesting to watch.. Thanks

all that money and keeps his lizard in a cage barely larger than itself instead of a nice terrarium, wtf
@@Teeklesyeah that irked me a bit it needs a upgrade,I'd love to do it for him or recommend someone to
@@AnthonyTalarico-hq9klodds are others thought the same and that lizard is in a nicer terrarium. That raises the question of what Nicolas cage could convince people to volunteer for.
I was not happy to see that. I was also not happy to see a non-free bird.@@Teekles
Dude just makes me smile. Will take almost any role no matter the budget of the film and will put in 110% every single time

That can't be denied, this man always gives his all in his performances.

For how long have you been a fan of mine??
@@NicolasCagePrivate😂😂😂
The problem is when directors don't know how to handle his acting, when they just let him go the extra mile for a character that doesn't need it. He can be quiet, subtle and calm, but the director has to give the actor directions. It's the same for other actors known for very powerful, passionate styles that just dominate every scene.
he may not be making the most ground breaking movies everytime, but damn you can tell he really does love making movies and telling stories through characters.
Na he really loves the young tight wife he has LOL
yes indeed. He is like Quentin Tarantino Love making movies
hasn't been in a "groundbreaking" movie in over 20 years lol

you gotta respect this guy. He truly loves his craft
I love how Cage doesn’t just poopoo the low budget films he did. He always gives us his best performance despite how crappy the movies are (in recent years). He’s built trust with the audience.
I really liked the recent movie 'The Old Way'
poopoo
even if he does a bad job he still gets $2 million
And he always “goes for it”. If he thinks a character needs to be wild he does it
Leaving Las Vegas was one of the most deserved Oscars I've seen in my lifetime. Thank you, Nic Cage.
Except the Oscar should have gone to Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking.
@@gmh471 no definitely not cage deserved that
VAMPIRES KISS, is NICOLAS CAGE, no doubt, he ate 2 live cockroaches, he had to do a double take, on that flick, that should have given him the statuette, from the mutual admiration society, called the "OSCARS".....Eating 2 live and kicking cockroaches, no bullcrap, real deal.....
👍
But he didn’t leave Las Vegas, he went there to live for no Taxes in the end I think that’s kinda funny.
Nicolas Cage is his own genre. I admire him for it. His Cage rage moments in films are unforgettable. I am happy this guy is on the rise again.

His role in Family Man was one of the best displays of acting.
what a character. he is a national treasure
I see what you did there.
Ahhh, yes
Haha I see what you did there.
The biggest thing you can take from this interview is that he is a professional. The guy is there to work and give his best effort.
One of the few actors who can draw an audience on his name alone.
One of the last true movie stars in an ocean of Brand names obscuring the name of the mortal actors in favor of a character or production company, which are immortal.
Maybe 3 decades ago
Renfield bombed
This comment is simply not true. The only movie he could do that would draw an audience today is national treasure 3.
And his lineage...
How can you not love Nic Cage? Huge personality but seems down to earth and self aware at the same time.

For me, he is a superstar. Whatever role he played, turned into gold. I am so happy to see, that he is back on screen.
My favorite Nicolas Cage movie is The City of Angels with Meg Ryan.
"The Family Man". Cage as Jack Campbell. My favourite performance of his. Wonderful movie as well. So under-rated.
Watch it every December! Agreed!

Now THAT was truly a fascinating interview of a man we rarely see sitting for a real interview. This lady did a perfect job just letting him talk.
Except beyond his bloviating about German film, etc., we really learned almost nothing about him.
@@gmh471 well actually he revealed more than any time before by opening his eccentric home, discussing his upbringing. Nick Cage is a beast of an actor. He's given me laughs, smiles and tears. He will always be iconic in entertainment. Thank you Cage.
Absolute legend in his broad acting ability and to execute at the highest levels. I've seen 100's of films and can't remember most. I can remember almost all of Cages films. He is definitely at home in Las Vegas, he displays some of the older Las Vegas style that makes it special.
he couldv been the next marlon brando but something went wrong 20 years ago
He gives every role 110% in every movie 🎬 I'd say he's the hardest working actor in the industry.
Yes! He's either in it 100% or not in the movie at all. He never leaves you unsatisfied about his character, ever. The engagement he commands is astounding.
Totally agree m8
Samuel Jackson esque
As a sober alcoholic of over 35 years, watching leaving Los Vegas for many of us alcoholics (including my sober husband and friends) hit home and a part of our soul that was tragic, comic and relatable in a way that only another alcoholic could understand. Nick Cage nailed alcoholism and Elizabeth Shue nailed co-dependency like no other film has ever done. It was a masterpiece. He is a brilliant actor and a genius.
I can't imagine how hard it was to play that part !!! Amazing Cage .
Well stated!!!
There’s a video on RUclips of “Some Devil” by Dave Matthews Band with clips from Leaving Los Vegas in the background. I’m 5 years sober myself and that video perfectly encompasses that sad and lonely abyss I sank into.
@@GeoffPeterson33 say a litte prayer for me
Agreed.
Cage is somebody who I find impossible to dislike regardless of whatever he does. Ever since the first Nic Cage 'Vegas' movie ("Honeymoon in" not "Leaving") he is consistently the most relatable yet somehow the most extraordinary personality on any screen. No matter what script and story line he sometimes gets stuck with he makes every movie better just by being in it, and has another dimension and quality, to any role that nobody else can ever match.
Season of witches had scenery and storyline.. but cage wrecked it
@@thomasnilsson2884 Let's be honest here, nobody could have saved that script and that dialog, NOBODY...

I don't quite get him. But yeah I still like NC.
Nick is so strange, even Christopher Walken said, "Dayum...that dude's weird."
🤣
🤦🤷😂
Nic Cage is one of my most favorite actors. He's iconic. There's never been anyone like him, and I doubt there will ever be again. One of a kind, and a master at what he does.
I'm 37 and Nic Cage became my favorite actor when I was just eight. I grew up with his films, basically all his films in the nineties were my favorite at one time or another. Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off, City of Angels, Snake Eyes and 8MM. In one stride. Damn.
Absolute legend of an actor.
I love Nicolas's sarcastic reaction to Sharon's soft ball at the end. 😂
"VeRy InSIgHtFuL ShArOn"
His performance in "Peggy Sue got Married" really struck me way back when, and he's delivered many wonderful performances since.
But I have to say that I have never seen such an outpouring of genuine admiration and praise in any comment section on RUclips or the internet as this 60 Minutes interview has garnered for Nicolas Cage. Like the man himself, it's really a wonderful and beautiful thing. Thank you sir for your many wonderful performances.
There aren't too many actors I have followed throughout my life that I can say ..."oh---wait---who is in this film?!? What?! Oh Gotta watch this!" Cage delivers every single time---no matter the script.
If Nic Cage is in a movie I will watch it even if I've never heard of it.
He’s legitimately a brilliant actor and on top of that an interesting person with humility. Thanks for this showcase.
Golden lamborghini and 6ft lizard on glass
I will forever by grateful that I got to host his panel at the Drafthouse for Renfield. I took a moment during it to thank him for Pig. I saw it a year after my dad died and it literally destroyed me but in a way that I needed to be destroyed and I sobbed for like an hour after it was over. One of the most beautiful movies about loss and dealing with loss I've ever seen.
It would have been a Better movie if he got the Pig back but my favorite movie is Mandy that's a pretty odd one too
PIG was a movie that surprised me. I wasn't expecting much out of the movie and it ended up being shockingly well made with a great story.
I may not care for some of his films but Nic is a genuine actor, doesn't get into the political drama of Hollyweird, doesn't involve himself in odd rituals of the elite, and loves the craft of artistry. Much respect.
His role in lord of war couldn't have been done better. The characters impulsive behavior matched his own character so well it couldn't have been done better. His character never thinks to much He just gets it done by any means necessary pushing things over and over. And in the end when it all comes crashing down he's saved by the fact of who he is and the risks he's willing to take. In the movie he's saved by the fact the government needs a risk taker that can do things they can't be seen doing.
I’ll give him this, even in his B movies, he gave it all in them. You can tell he really loves acting. I true performer.
No way to dislike this guy as a celebrity. Maybe he's different behind closed doors and we'll never know but he seems very genuine in any interview I have seen him in.
I respect that not only is he a great actor but he made mistakes, didn’t file for bankruptcy but paid it all off by working it all off. Even taking roles he probably didn’t want to do. Hopefully he learned from it and doesn’t put himself in a bad financial situation again.
If Nicolas Cage is in any movie I will watch it.. He’s an amazing actor
His performance in PIG put him in another realm. His acting was stellar.
Raising Arizona is a classic...
It has it all...
Great acting, great dialog, great action and great quieter parts as well...
Yes! Great call. Coen bros classic
He makes a small budget flick a box office smash. Always entertaining. Nice work Nick!
His performance in Pig sent chills down my spine. I wish he would do more films like that. Characters with mysterious depth. I love Cage because he can really act, but a lot of times he's just having fun and doing what he loves, and I like that even more.
It's his #1 film, imo. Very moving.
My friends brother actually did most of the camera work in that film!
He performed bleak existential depression well in that movie. Even managed to mock the seriousness of the villain. Very good movie with it's own established underworld
@@tomsevcik1792 did ye, aye?
That film hit me really hard as a PDX native.
Such a monolithic actor, probably my favorite of all time. I love that he can do it all, from the meaty Oscar-worthy performances in Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation, or Pig, to the action star in The Rock, Con Air, or National Treasure, to the "cage rage" freakouts in Vampire's Kiss, Bad Lieutenant, or Mandy, and even the tender heartwarming roles of Moonstruck, Guarding Tess, and The Weather Man. The man just does it all effortlessly.
Wild at Heart
Raising Arizona
He makes it look effortless. I suspect that he works hard.
Family Man in 2000 with Don Cheadle and Tea Leoni and other great character actors
Agreed ! He’s doing National Treasure 3 and I can’t wait to see it
I watched Mandy just a couple years back and forgot how good cage can be. He was phenomenal. The colour of space, weight of massive talent, willy's wonderland,
He's really been killing it recently.
Mandy and Colour are amazing. I love how he's gone into the more indie movie scene. Not to downplay his mainstream movies like Con Air, which is one of my favourite action movies, but the stuff he's doing now, and even his older works like Wild At Heart are some of the best Cage.
Bro tried to sneak in Willy’s wonderland ☠️
He certainly is interesting and no other actor quite like him. Interviewer sure was incredible. She brought out some great moments in this interview.
Protect Nic Cage at all costs....he's a national treasure!!!

Color out of Space was a science fiction/horror masterpiece and went completely under the radar. Nic Cage still makes great movies, he just makes so many of them.
What an incredible story! He really seems sincere and definitely humble - this interview definitely shows how he’s been expressing how he lives into his work.
Nic is an American icon.
I’ve loved Nic Cage since he walked out of the ocean In Valley Girl in 1981. I can’t believe they didn’t mention it. It launched his career.
I love that he hasn't stopped making movies. I love that he has gone into the obscure now, because it makes the obscure - real. Which, it is. Real life is always stranger than fiction. I love how he's just rode that wave all the way to creative town, and we're along for the ride. He is such a great bloody actor.

He’s going to be nominated for an Oscar again and he’ll probably receive his second Oscar soon. Yes he can be a goof ball but he’ll be remembered for always pulling out his A game regardless the role.
I wouldn't say he's pulled his A game every role. He's been good to great in maybe 20ish roles but the 100 D-rate action flicks on Netflix he's done, yikes. But hey keeps him and Bruce Willis employed
@@Bamaboy813 Bruce has retired!
Can't help but admire him for being so committed to every role. It's impressive. And pretty remarkable. Also he dug himself out of a ditch doing what he loved, which is kind of The Dream. He needs to do a Scorsese film.

An utterly unique and memorable performer. He’s a one off
The fact that he did not claim bankrupcy says a lot about his character. Well done, you are a decent and honest man who stood accountable for his debts. And then, you raised again. A real chamption!

Wild at Heart, not often cited. This fantastic love story is the one that made me fall for Nick Cage forever, and forgive him any wrong step. I regularly go back to that final scene where Sailor jumps from car to car to find Lula and... What a perfect ending, what a mensch !
This interview made me love Nick Cage even more. Faith in film acting restored.
Odd, i had the opposite reaction when i saw the amount of wild animals he keeps in cages for fun. Miserable.
His 2002 film "Adaptation" with Meryl Streep, was some of his best work.
A well deserved second Oscar nomination. We'll see if he can get a third.
Agree. It was probably his most lowkey but he was totally convincing, which is weird, because he doesn't seem at all like that character.
The greatest indirect comedian of our time, love you Lord Cage.
Omgosh....Ever since Raising Arizona....Nicholas has become one of our Favorites...🎉
You can always count on Cage to bring something unusual to the screen - a true artist outlier. No mention of Mandy during the interview though it was very much an art endeavor as much as any of his best works. Appreciate the mention of "Mom and Dad" below. I'll have to check that out. Congrats to him for a great resurgence! I never tire of his unique and inventive approaches to character development.
I’ll never meet him or know him personally. I very much appreciate his artistic choices and their impact on my life. He’s been in every type of movie covering the full spectrum (as I can comprehend it as an audience) of movies. Big budget mainstream, low budget, comedy, drama, art house. He’s taken risks and lived his life. When I was younger I thought he might be losing his mind. Decades later I’m very appreciative of his work and find his journey in life to be inspirational.
If I ever met him at some random moment, I’d just thank him for his work and shake his hand. As a blue collar guy I don’t have a lot of money to spend on entertainment and have always had a good time with his movies. Some were fun, some make you think. Good times.
I really hope he’s having a good time. Has anyone ever asked him if he’s happy?

I would love to see Nicolas Cage to a movie along with Bob Odenkirk. Cage is of a rare breed, he explores through a thorough knowledge of the road he's about to take. He even disguises his vanity driving a Lamborghini to a cinematic reference. Finally he plays the role of his life, his life
I have always been a Nic Cage fan. No matter how crazy he goes, how off-the-wall his characters...I feel like it just makes him better. I love artists like Cage and Stewart because they aren't conventional actors, they bring their own energy and persona, and the roles are so much more memorable because of it.
Legitimately my favourite actor of all time. Say what you will about the movies themselves, but the man is incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and has a talent I think gets severely overlooked due to his more 'meme' status.
Love his movies, that gold Lamborghini, his house, his passion in shown in films, that he followed his dreams, and of course I love this interview. He can be so natural, so crazy passionate, and so real like in Con Air, Leaving Las Vegas, Face/Off, It Could Happen to You, etc., etc.!
