My Daughter was mugged at Kroger during the day. "Good neighborhood"Her Husband was with her but was walking around an ice patch. The mugger didn't realize he was with her. Her husband caught up to her. Grabbed the guy and beat the L out of him. Someone called the police who when they arrived the police knew him by his name. His MO was to punch a woman and as she falls to steal her purse. That very day I knew my Son-In-Law would always protect my Daughter and any children they ever would have. They now have two children. He's such a nice guy. I just love him.

Unfortunately it doesn't even have to be a secluded location. The daughter of a friend of mine was walking on the sidewalk on one of the busiest streets in Springfield, Missouri. A man walked up behind and grabbed her. Fortunately motorists saw, called 911, stopped their cars and jumped out to rescue her. Police got him. Found his truck which had duct tape and rope. Come to find out this wasn't the first time this had happened but none of the other girls were brave enough to testify. She was. He was sent to prison

My daughter was approached by some man the other day in the grocery store parking lot. She was putting my grandson in his car seat when all of a sudden some scary looking guy came up from behind her. He started saying perverted things to her. She was so scared because no one was around at the time. She was also having a hard time getting my grandson in his car seat because she was so nervous. She told me that she remembered seeing him in the store so he must have followed her to the car without her even knowing. I’ve told her before not to go out alone but she didn’t listen. Well after this happened she said she will stop going out alone. Thank God he didn’t do anything to them.

As a widow, many times I need to do things alone. I always let a family member know what errands I am doing, where I will be, what time I am leaving, & when I expect to be home. Then I let them know when I am home safe.
We use life 360 my kids always know where we are and we can track them. You can always pause the tracking if you need too. Stay safe out there. Hubby and I teach survival classes and it is so dangerous out there.

I live near Myrtle Beach, SC and a lady has turned up missing, one of the comments on the story, about her, warned that there was a man walking in the parking lot of a a nearby mall “selling perfume”. They stated that it isn’t perfume and the man asks you to smell it and it can make you light-headed or even pass out. Gas stations seem to be getting dangerous too. Don’t touch or smell anything sketchy out there!!!
As a Christian man, it was so refreshing, Patara, to hear you say clearly and unequivocally that good men are needed and important to our families and our society. Far too many men these days were not taught by a good father how we should honor women, how we should protect them and cherish them. I am so, so lucky to have been taught those lessons from birth. My wife wasn't raised in a family who knew Bill Ruger or Smith & Wesson, so I had to teach her, little by little. But now, there are many times when she'll tell me, "I think I'll take my revolver along." We took the class and got our concealed carry permits together probably 20 years ago and self-defense is something we discuss. I remind her often: "Don't be scared, be prepared!" Absolutely 💯, I am retired combat veteran and my husband is veteran and have sons serving overseas and raised my 4 sons to be one of these men. I homeschool my youngest who is 16 and helps me on farm and preparing him for real life . We need strong men as they have made so many weak.

I was torn on sharing this because I do not like what would appear as bragging. I am the one you want to be around when you are shopping. I keep my freedom seeds on me when wife and I go shopping. I have watched moms shopping and their little one start to wander off. I will put myself where I can see both at all times. When mom notices, I get her attention and point to the little one. I am amazed at how often this happens. But, you are correct, it is not safe, for men or women, to go out alone these days. I appreciate all you do. Keep up the good work.
Last month at 9:30 am Saturday I opened my front door and know one was out side it was quiet I shut the door as soon as I locked it a young guy started knocking loudly, I saw he ran around back then out front I never thought I would think about guns I think if I got one and someone tried something, they better be prepared to meet the Lord I am preparing in ways I never thought I would,thanks to those running this country my thoughts are changing.

When a casual conversation with a member of law enforcement comes with the warning of, 'All due respect, nobody should leave their house without being armed', it made my mouth go dry. I seriously thought the officer was joking. He wasn't. He was dead serious, intense eye contact, the whole 'are you hearing what I'm saying?' thing. I live in a fairly remote place and if there's something I don't have that I need and it can't wait, I have to travel miles to get to a store. Most of that is through wooded areas or places where the houses are few and far between. Frankly, if anyone had evil intent, I won't be going home and some unlucky hunter next hunting season might be how I'm returned home for burial. Seeing and hearing that young trooper making it clear enough for a dead person to see what was being said, is still on my mind and in my heart. God bless him for speaking up and being bold enough to give me a warning, because he didn't have to take time out of his day to do that. But it does tell me that whatever he's personally seeing in his line of work and daily briefings at the cop shop, he knows what he's talking about. As he also said, Maine is seeing an uptick of evidence that illegals are coming over the border, but it's evidence that's been left behind and the person or persons are long gone. This little haven of pine trees, lobsters, and friendly people is changing. I fear for my country.
Just this morning I was in my local coffee shop and an officer was in there too. I thanked him for his service and we struck up a conversation. He told me the same thing…he said everyone should carry protection. We talked about tasers and firearms. He recommended a body holster for me (I am legal to conceal carry). Even law enforcement believe we should be responsible gun owners and protect ourselves.
I have noticed an intense craziness amongst drivers. They just pull out in front of you and cut you off with no regard. Today while shopping, it seemed everyone wanted to play chicken with me in the aisles. It was the craziest thing. Walking right toward me and not even considering moving. (They did have to move bc I was in "my lane" and pretty stubborn myself.) What is with people?! We very much expect something big to happen since it is an election year and we've seen absolutely ZERO campaigning from anyone! We -hubs & I are elders and often feel invisible - people act like we aren't standing right there. Happens in stores a lot. I just figured it was because we are older and they consider us insignificant. I asked a gentlemen who with his female companion was blocking a whole section if he would mind reaching me down an item from an upper shelf. He was very kindly and considerate and did just that. I think they are just so distracted they don't see right in front of them. Do you suppose that could be, esp those on phones?
My "quiet" neighborhood is getting way to busy lately. Several strange men that do not live on my street walking up and down my road regularly. Especially at night. My hubby works until after 10pm so it's just me and my kids at home. So we do not go out after dark unless absolutely necessary and when we do, we have a "friend" who comes with us.

I'm a 64 year old man living in Baltimore. I also work night shift. I often have no choice than to go into shady areas at night to get groceries in. It never used to be this way in Baltimore County, but now I hear gunshots all the time in my neighborhood. My son is trying to help me get out of here, but for now I'm up the creek. In Baltimore you don't even think about carrying a gun, unless you're a criminal, (can't hurt our voting block), and I blame liberal democrats for the shape my hometown is in. I want to leave, but I have to stick until I can afford to retire. I'm a sitting duck and I know it.

I live by myself deep in the woods 45 minutes from town and I work the 2nd shift at Walmart. It's about an hour drive from home to work every day. Long dark highway, then my cabin is almost 10 miles off the highway on another long dark county road. I'm always armed, but not while I'm at work per Wal-Mart policy. I'm looking for a work from home job to avoid this situation but they all seem to be scams. I have no choice, as I have to work. It's definitely a scary world we're in right now and it's only getting more dangerous.

I prayed for the 3 weeks prior to her trip that she would also back out. I prayed all the time she was gone. Now I have prayed a thank you that God kept her safe. BUT ... the best take away from what happened ... she overheard another woman her age speaking to a 3rd woman about the nursing student in Georgia. She apologized to me on the ride from the train station, "Mom, I was in the ROTC in high school, I go to the gym 4 days a week, and I am a very strong woman. But I sincerely doubt I could defend myself agsinst some of the men I saw in Chicago. I will be more careful from now on." She might appreciate hearing this from you, too.

I had a bad experience once two guys followed me into the woods and I saw them hide in the bushes. They blocked my exit I couldn't see where they went. I believe what saved me is I turned on the recording of a police scanner recording and turned it way up and it made them stop and question who I was. I hurried out of there. When I got to my car I looked back and saw them slowly coming out of the woods behind me. Like what just happened on there faces. Ever since then I carry I am not messing around. This day and age you can be at the grocery store and some one can come in doing horrible things. I do security for a living I have seen the worst in people. Listen to petara ladies be smart!!

I live in an area in East TN that has a Christian college, and for years, you see these young girls out jogging, and I'm screaming in my head... you need a buddy. Do not go places by yourself, especially off the beaten track!! I have beautiful daughters, and for Christmas, they were "loaded up" with protection devices and tons of warnings as usual to be constantly on guard especially with distractions with grandbabies. Great and actually a positive video that I’ve let my 11 and 9 year old daughters listen too. They’re both excellent shots they’re both brown belts in Krav Maga working towards black belt, and I have given them both a taser and rape whistle that they don’t leave home without!! I’ve trained them to the best of my abilities and they know what I can and will do for them but they also know what they can do for themselves and others!! I want them to know that behind every strong man should also be an even STRONGER woman. Your message is one that needs to be said and said over and over and over! Our granddaughter goes to college there and has been exactly where the beautiful nursing student was and she was also alone.I am so thankful and so sad all at the same time.

Whenever I go to my local Walmart I park on the garden side entrance as there is usually more parking here in south Florida. A man maybe in his 30s walked right up to me as I was getting out of my car and started asking me for money as I was putting my purse strap on my shoulder. I was totally caught off guard, all alone parked in the spot where the parking lot ends. The only thing past were I was parked is a ditch and a swamp.. He was so close to me, he could have easily pushed me back into my car and jumped in. I was so off kilter that I started looking in my purse for money to give him and listening to him until it dawned on me how alone and helpless I was if he decided to try something. I looked around me and there wasn't soul to be found in the vicinity. Thankfully he really was just asking for money and had no other bad intentions. I told him I didn't have any cash and maybe if I saw him on my way out I might be able to give him a few bucks. Realizing THAT too was stupid, I told a friend who works as a greeter at this Walmart, what happened and asked him to watch me as I went to my car, which he did. The guy was gone thankfully. But I really realized I need to be more careful. Now I as soon as I get in my car I lock the doors, I don't get out until I look around me to see who I am parked next to and see what they are doing. I don't walk between cars if I see anyone sitting in a one of the cars. We have to teach the younger girls to be vigilant about these things too! We also need to teach them that when they are drinking or on drugs they are SO VULNERABLE. Anything can happen from rape to kidnapping/being trafficked, and murder. It's not the world I grew up in.

I stopped carrying a purse over 2 years ago. My debit card is in a slide case on the back of my phone. I am constantly aware of my surroundings as I do instacart and spark delivery to bring in extra cash. I park where I can see my car and surroundings and I conceal carry. Keys are knuckled in case I need to punch someone. Be careful, ladies, be aware, and trust no one!
Peaked out the window one night at 10pm. I saw a young woman walking her dog alone.I know she had a dog with her but I felt concerned for her safety and prayed she made it back home.
I am 59 and I love to run outside, and I hate gyms. So I put a gym in my basement and my 29 year old niece comes and works out with me. I still walk/run outside….but always with a friend and another friend for security.
Take all of the prudent precautions but don't forget to say prayers of protection over your family and property. I have my blessed Rosary and Miraculous Medal at all times✝️

Thank you! I used to walk and ride my bike alone, but I have not felt comfortable doing so in a while. I enjoy grounding, where you walk with no shoes. During the sickness, I began grounding and walking in my backyard. I have a tiny yard. It works just fine. Walking barefoot in my backyard is very stress relieving, and I feel safe!

All true and good advice. I think some of the one's agitating on social media are actually government agents put in place to stir the pot snd identify those who they can see as a threat. On a side note about gyms. In my little town up here in Eastern Ontario Canada we had a gym which was ran by a retired police officer (Took early retirement because he murdered a teenager). This guy had hidden cameras in the ladies washrooms and changing areas. There were computers full of images taken in those spaces. He was forced to close down his gym but otherwise no consequences and hes now operating another gym in town. All of that is a good reminder that the "Good guys" are not always good and you must be vigilant and guard your own privacy and your own safety. As you say "Discernment" is very important.

She told me that she remembered seeing him in the store so he must have followed her to the car without her even knowing. I’ve told her before not to go out alone but she didn’t listen. Well after this happened she said she will stop going out alone. Thank God he didn’t do anything to them.
My daughters never go out alone. Either their spouse goes or they call me. We all carry but two are always better than one.

As a widow, many times I need to do things alone. I always let a family member know what errands I am doing, where I will be, what time I am leaving, & when I expect to be home. Then I let them know when I am home safe.

I live near Myrtle Beach, SC and a lady has turned up missing, one of the comments on the story, about her, warned that there was a man walking in the parking lot of a a nearby mall “selling perfume”. They stated that it isn’t perfume and the man asks you to smell it and it can make you light-headed or even pass out.

As a Christian man, it was so refreshing, Patara, to hear you say clearly and unequivocally that good men are needed and important to our families and our society. Far too many men these days were not taught by a good father how we should honor women, how we should protect them and cherish them. I am so, so lucky to have been taught those lessons from birth. My wife wasn't raised in a family who knew Bill Ruger or Smith & Wesson, so I had to teach her, little by little. But now, there are many times when she'll tell me, "I think I'll take my revolver along." We took the class and got our concealed carry permits together probably 20 years ago and self-defense is something we discuss. I remind her often: "Don't be scared, be prepared!" As she leaves the house, I frequently say, "Head on a swivel! I love you."

I was torn on sharing this because I do not like what would appear as bragging. I am the one you want to be around when you are shopping. I keep my freedom seeds on me when wife and I go shopping. I have watched moms shopping and their little one start to wander off. I will put myself where I can see both at all times. When mom notices, I get her attention and point to the little one. When a casual conversation with a member of law enforcement comes with the warning of, 'All due respect, nobody should leave their house without being armed', it made my mouth go dry. I seriously thought the officer was joking. He wasn't. He was dead serious, intense eye contact, the whole 'are you hearing what I'm saying?' thing. I live in a fairly remote place and if there's something I don't have that I need and it can't wait, I have to travel miles to get to a store. Most of that is through wooded areas or places where the houses are few and far between. Frankly, if anyone had evil intent, I won't be going home and some unlucky hunter next hunting season might be how I'm returned home for burial. Seeing and hearing that young trooper making it clear enough for a dead person to see what was being said, is still on my mind and in my heart. God bless him for speaking up and being bold enough to give me a warning, because he didn't have to take time out of his day to do that. But it does tell me that whatever he's personally seeing in his line of work and daily briefings at the cop shop, he knows what he's talking about. As he also said, Maine is seeing an uptick of evidence that illegals are coming over the border, but it's evidence that's been left behind and the person or persons are long gone. This little haven of pine trees, lobsters, and friendly people is changing. I fear for my country.

Just this morning I was in my local coffee shop and an officer was in there too. I thanked him for his service and we struck up a conversation. He told me the same thing…he said everyone should carry protection. We talked about tasers and firearms. He recommended a body holster for me (I am legal to conceal carry). Even law enforcement believe we should be responsible gun owners and protect ourselves.
I have noticed an intense craziness amongst drivers. They just pull out in front of you and cut you off with no regard. Today while shopping, it seemed everyone wanted to play chicken with me in the aisles. It was the craziest thing. Walking right toward me and not even considering moving. (They did have to move bc I was in "my lane" and pretty stubborn myself.) What is with people?! We very much expect something big to happen since it is an election year and we've seen absolutely ZERO campaigning from anyone! We -hubs & I are elders and often feel invisible - people act like we aren't standing right there. Happens in stores a lot. I just figured it was because we are older and they consider us insignificant. I asked a gentlemen who with his female companion was blocking a whole section if he would mind reaching me down an item from an upper shelf. He was very kindly and considerate and did just that. I think they are just so distracted they don't see right in front of them. Do you suppose that could be, esp those on phones?

I'm a 64 year old man living in Baltimore. I also work night shift. I often have no choice than to go into shady areas at night to get groceries in. It never used to be this way in Baltimore County, but now I hear gunshots all the time in my neighborhood. My son is trying to help me get out of here, but for now I'm up the creek. In Baltimore you don't even think about carrying a gun, unless you're a criminal, (can't hurt our voting block), and I blame liberal democrats for the shape my hometown is in. I live by myself deep in the woods 45 minutes from town and I work the 2nd shift at Walmart. It's about an hour drive from home to work every day. Long dark highway, then my cabin is almost 10 miles off the highway on another long dark county road. I'm always armed, but not while I'm at work per Wal-Mart policy. I'm looking for a work from home job to avoid this situation but they all seem to be scams. I have no choice, as I have to work. It's definitely a scary world we're in right now and it's only getting more dangerous.

I prayed for the 3 weeks prior to her trip that she would also back out. I prayed all the time she was gone. Now I have prayed a thank you that God kept her safe. BUT ... the best take away from what happened ... she overheard another woman her age speaking to a 3rd woman about the nursing student in Georgia. She apologized to me on the ride from the train station, "Mom, I was in the ROTC in high school, I go to the gym 4 days a week, and I am a very strong woman. But I sincerely doubt I could defend myself agsinst some of the men I saw in Chicago. I will be more careful from now on." She might appreciate hearing this from you, too.

I had a bad experience once two guys followed me into the woods and I saw them hide in the bushes. They blocked my exit I couldn't see where they went. I believe what saved me is I turned on the recording of a police scanner recording and turned it way up and it made them stop and question who I was. I hurried out of there. When I got to my car I looked back and saw them slowly coming out of the woods behind me. Like what just happened on there faces. Ever since then I carry I am not messing around. This day and age you can be at the grocery store and some one can come in doing horrible things. I do security for a living I have seen the worst in people. Listen to petara ladies be smart!!

I went to our local pharmacy Saturday and talked to the lady I always see and asked her if all the cell phone messup effected them…her eyes got real big and she said, OH YES!…it really messed us up bad!, and we are a small town in Texas. We will pray and do what God tells us to do. We are trusting God to obey and give us the tax money each year to pay Caeser…what they are doimg is evil and wrong, but we willobey Holy Spirit on whar we are to do.
Whenever I go to my local Walmart I park on the garden side entrance as there is usually more parking here in south Florida. A man maybe in his 30s walked right up to me as I was getting out of my car and started asking me for money as I was putting my purse strap on my shoulder. I was totally caught off guard, all alone parked in the spot where the parking lot ends. The only thing past were I was parked is a ditch and a swamp.. He was so close to me, he could have easily pushed me back into my car and jumped in. I was so off kilter that I started looking in my purse for money to give him and listening to him until it dawned on me how alone and helpless I was if he decided to try something. I looked around me and there wasn't soul to be found in the vicinity. Thankfully he really was just asking for money and had no other bad intentions. I told him I didn't have any cash and maybe if I saw him on my way out I might be able to give him a few bucks. Realizing THAT too was stupid, I told a friend who works as a greeter at this Walmart, what happened and asked him to watch me as I went to my car, which he did. The guy was gone thankfully. But I really realized I need to be more careful. Now I as soon as I get in my car I lock the doors, I don't get out until I look around me to see who I am parked next to and see what they are doing. I don't walk between cars if I see anyone sitting in a one of the cars. We have to teach the younger girls to be vigilant about these things too! We also need to teach them that when they are drinking or on drugs they are SO VULNERABLE. Anything can happen from rape to kidnapping/being trafficked, and murder. It's not the world I grew up in.

I stopped carrying a purse over 2 years ago. My debit card is in a slide case on the back of my phone. I am constantly aware of my surroundings as I do instacart and spark delivery to bring in extra cash. I park where I can see my car and surroundings and I conceal carry. Keys are knuckled in case I need to punch someone. Be careful, ladies, be aware, and trust no one!
Peaked out the window one night at 10pm. I saw a young woman walking her dog alone.I know she had a dog with her but I felt concerned for her safety and prayed she made it back home.

I am 59 and I love to run outside, and I hate gyms. So I put a gym in my basement and my 29 year old niece comes and works out with me. I still walk/run outside….but always with a friend and another friend for security.

Thank you! I used to walk and ride my bike alone, but I have not felt comfortable doing so in a while. I enjoy grounding, where you walk with no shoes. During the sickness, I began grounding and walking in my backyard. I have a tiny yard. It works just fine. Walking barefoot in my backyard is very stress relieving, and I feel safe!

I agree 💯 percent!!! I'm an older woman living alone. I try to be very careful. I have to do things by myself, but I never go out after dark by myself , and I'm only a half mile from Walmart and Lowe's so there's always people about. I'm still very alert. Thank you for your input

You are spot on! I raised my son and daughter both to keep their heads on a swivel. My son repects, love and protects his wife and sons. My daughter, keeps a line of defense on her all the time. This country is going to go through even more hell but us who raised our family right and prepared for it will survive. We as a community have the voice to reach as many as we can, but they have to open their ears to listen. Bless you and your family ❤🙏

All true and good advice. I think some of the one's agitating on social media are actually government agents put in place to stir the pot snd identify those who they can see as a threat. On a side note about gyms. In my little town up here in Eastern Ontario Canada we had a gym which was ran by a retired police officer (Took early retirement because he murdered a teenager). This guy had hidden cameras in the ladies washrooms and changing areas. There were computers full of images taken in those spaces. He was forced to close down his gym but otherwise no consequences and hes now operating another gym in town. All of that is a good reminder that the "Good guys" are not always good and you must be vigilant and guard your own privacy and your own safety. As you say "Discernment" is very important.
