    I've been a 911 dispatcher for almost 10 years and I was just holding my breath the whole time hearing this. Also, I'm fucking furious with the dispatcher because she put that girl in GREAT danger by asking her 1,000 dumb ass questions. Keep her on the line and tell her to be quiet. That's all you do after the address and what's going on.

    • @JSainte17
      @JSainte17 2 года назад +26

      And look, EVERY person thinks we ask too many questions and that all questions are dumb and a waste of time. So not true, but it can feel like that when you’re awaiting help.
      Also, it’s policy everywhere I’ve worked to ask the address, confirm it, find out what’s going on, and dispatch ASAP. Then ask more questions. Sometimes the call taker is the dispatcher but sometimes it’s a separate person.
      However, we are always told to tell people (when it’s true, which should be always) that help is ALREADY on the way and our questions aren’t slowing it down.

      I’m no expert but after listening to so many 911 calls I’d say it’s to keep the victim on the phone and trying to get more information from them that they perhaps would have missed with another question. It keeps them on the phone while the radar is able to track the location.

      Here in Ohio, the abuser is always given the benefit of the doubt and the victim is treated as if she's lying about the abuse. Not long ago a woman asked for a protection order from her abusive husband. Even though there were police records of abuse in the past she was denied. Two days later she was dead because her husband killed her. The judge who denied the protection order was told to step down or be terminated. Victims are at a great disadvantage when they're labeled as nothing more than hysterical females. And of course, the abuser always denies the abuse. Innocent until proven guilty and even after guilt is proved, sometimes they're still declared innocent or the judge decides the abuse was justified so he hands down a light sentence. We need more female judges on the bench and less old farts who still believe women should be kept in their place.

And I'm sure Jane would have shushed the operator if she was too loud. Also, it was important for the 911 operator to communicate clearly the first time since lowering their voice might mean Jane couldn't understand what they said & she'd have to speak unnecessarily.

      Lex Sao Paolo This specific case and specific comment doesn’t apply to men. This is a PSA to women because the video is in reference to a man being the abuser. Don’t make this about your need to constantly be included in the conversation when OP didn’t say anything like “remember: only men can be violet ladies, don’t feel guilty for leaving them”. I don’t understand why your need to disagree with the manner of how the person said it overwhelms you just saying “I agree!”. Considering 1 and 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience some form of violence, it’s not the craziest thing in the word to only target women (or anyone who dates a violent man) in the comments of a video where a violent man adds to the 1 in 4 statistic. Nonsensical. No one read her comment and thought “ahhh, so I guess women never abuse people”.

      It's disgusting. All people are equal in the eyes of the Lord. The most healthy person and the most mentally ill and those suffering from debilitating substance use disorders that will eventually kill them 50 years too soon. God doesn't play favorites. And if you don't believe in God you should at least just believe that people are equal just because it's the decent thing to believe.

      @@haroldbalzac6336 oh I assure you society does think less of those with substance abuse disorder...that is why they put them in jail with murderers and child molesters way more often than not without a doctor where they then brutally withdraw at great danger to their health in so many cases. One man in the U S A lost 50 pounds in two weeks withdrawing from his methadone treatment and anxiety medications they refused to continue to treat him with in jail and died the second week after multiple prisoners told staff he was obviously going to die. They didn't care. So so very sad.

    I recently watched another video that was just the 911 call and full 3 hr interrogation. This video goes into much deeper and more information so I'm really glad I found it to learn more about this case. It disturbed me greatly. I also want to give a big shout out to Jane Doe. Her bravery probably saved countless other girls' lives. Way to go girl!

    Being there is almost 8,000 comments, I'm sure someone has mentioned that another RUclips channel has the full interrogation. It really is chilling and despite how sick it is, you can't stop listening to every word he says. How deep it goes. Lot of the meaning behind the killings he discloses while being interviewed. I highly suggest to find it and give it a listen.

      You kid, but I dated a girl who would pull stunts like that all the time. I posted a comment on the Jodi Arias video about it.
      She would hide in my closet and under the bed, to spy on me. When I caught her, she was completely upfront and shameless about the matter. Told me damn straight, I'm checking up on you. She was pretty and vivacious. She managed to convince my landlord to attain a copy of my apt key for her unbeknownst to me. We only dated for about 8 months. In that time she engaged in all sorts of possessive, and psychotic behavior. Getting rid of her was an endeavor all it's own. She scared off plenty of future potential suitors. Would show up at my workplace and hang out. It was a running joke at my employer at the time for a while.

      I agree. I'm unsure why people are upset with her. Also, most of the comments demonstrate a severe lack of understanding of how a cell phone works or listening skills. Jane Doe said he was in the bedroom and she was in a different room. She was whispering. The dispatcher's voice wasn't on speaker. Maybe people would rather hear her panicking and yelling loudly for help or talking with her "feelings" instead of focusing on the pertinent information to help locate her.
