Mercury in Scorpio can love scientific research. really good placement for the medical field. Can refuse to speak and be very passive aggressive as well. My mother has this placement in a Scorpio stellium. She worked in surgery and was excellent at diagnostic, investigative work. Her speaking voice could be very intense. She is an intense person. Her Sag sun saves her - gives her a wonderful sense of humor.
This has most certainly been one of my favorites in a long time. Another good celebrity example would be Snoop Dogg. 💯✳️

It's interesting because all of your examples, all of those people, are so 100% genuinely themselves, and exposing that darker side tends to bring them closer to authenticity and also help bring YOU closer to authenticity, sometimes a little abruptly. You're right, Sylvia Plath wrote The Bell Jar, too. And a funny aside, Penn Badgely played the serial killer in the Netflix series "You." I think he can turn his smolder towards the creepier side which is so cool to watch!
Whats crazy is this Presidential debate while mercury is in Scorpio. They should have debates when mercury is in libra or Aquarius instead. That might make it more...bearable for me to watch. And I'm a moon Scorpio 🤣😂
I've got Merc in Scorp conjunct my ascendant. Definitely have a darker and curious side. Love to get to the bottom of things and really love understand people and why they do what they do. Maybe that's why my kids get away with so much because I analyze things from every angle. lol
I have my natal placement as Mercury in Scorpio and I love to RESEARCH! It often however, when Mars goes 'retro' as it is as I write this, has a really slow and 'hanging' type effect on me where I don't feel like moving much. Yesterday (20th) my energy began to increase however and I think that is because it is slowly moving again. Sometimes I feel exactly like a WALKING ASTROLOGY CHART, which of course I am, but I really feel the planets now I am studying astrology on a more daily basis. This is how mercury in scorpio manifests for me also, I love to research. I'll go to the depths of a subject no matter what I'm researching. Mars is in my 5th house Libra and I can fall deep into the rabbit hole of youtube, watching and learning how to do different crafts.

Merc in Scorpio at 0 degrees, in 12thH. I’ve been a researcher/teacher & writer in Gothic Lit & semiotics (very Merc in Scorpio!). And I have been told I’m too intense - but usually only by people who are unconsciously sexist (that includes women). I can be a bit intellectually intense, and enjoy deep investigative work; but for the most part I’m a peaceful hermit.

I'm a Libra sun, Gemini rising, with mercury in 6th house Scorpio. Some keywords in how this placement manifests for me are Research, deep-dive, rabbit hole, digging, root, curiosity, and detective. I'm currently self-studying the root cause of certain health issues. I had a personal experience where I was treating one health issue with supplements, which ended up curing a couple other problems I had. The Dr.'s told me it was a coincidence, so I left it alone but in the back of my head, I always wondered. Well, fast forward a year and the same thing happened again. I had gone off the supplements and the other problems came back, started supplementing again and they went away. This got me curious about why this was happening and so began the study of the human body, epigenetics, nutrition, medical astrology, and so on.

I'm a little of all of what you describe, a LOT of some, such as getting to the bottom of things, discovering, linking & exposing truths through my art and words both spoken and written. Since childhood, people have opened up to me almost as though they cannot help it. I read people, environments & situations, usually very accurately, like using a 6th sense or something. Strategy and problem solving are real strengths, as are dealing with immediate emergency situations almost reflexively.
I'm currently playing with an idea for a visual art piece about my different thoughts, Perceptions, stories and messages masks tell and Don't tell.
This is all bang on.
For better or worse, I am compelled to look underneath the words that are said to uncover the underlying motivation or intent.
Never content to just go through the motions or settle for surface topics with colleagues or clients. There is much to be attributed to the presence of Uranus in the same sign.
I don’t like hearing or using the same words twice, singing a song as it’s written, or following a recipe.
I’m rarely surprised by people or events even though I may be around unique people or situations on a regular basis. I inadvertently expose a person or wound them with my words. And then immediately go back to smooth it. (Venus retro conjunct Mars in Scorpio).
When I speak I tend to use words that are more forceful and I am to be clear and exacting when making a point.

Have a big Scorpio 4th house stellium at the IC. IC at 0 Scorpio, Moon & Merc at 1 Scorpio, Pluto at 6 Scorpio. Venus later at 18 Scorpio. Really there is a huge, huge desire to dig ... helped me figure out a very, very convoluted intergenerational trauma history, and transform out of a 9/10 adverse childhood experience score. People don't guess it because I have Libra sun conjunct SN but scratch the surface and people are always a little blown away at the big reservoir of intensity underneath. Eventually I want to work to help people who have experienced abuse in childhood. Snoop Dog and Jimmy Carter are apparently also Libra Sun Scorpio moon, it's a kick-a$$ stealth combo

My natal mercury in Scorpio in 4th also.
I have mercury 29 deg scorpio with mars and pluto in 8h.. this all resonates and I also have sun and Saturn in sag, have always felt like the ‘deep truths’ I see, bursts out of my mouth with direct intensity that most do not appreciate. I have Mercury in Aquarius in the 8th house and I'm constantly faced with this type of stuff. It's not how I live my life but I'm always walking into places and uncovering situations with the energies you described. I'm starting to think it's part of my calling as a lightworker. My power lies in calling people out on their shout without fear otherwise they end up screwing me over.

Wow. This explains so much to me about my own experiences. Mercury in Scorpio in my 5th House (Whole Sign/Tropical). When I grab onto something of interest I go deep, fast and intensely. I would do the same thing. For me it was like, “You hurt me so I’m gonna hurt you” (I know my words CAN hurt you, or “I’m gonna show you that you really don’t want to mess with me or go there because I WILL end it.”

I have Mercury in Scorpio in my 12th house, with a life-long drive toward discovering hidden truths behind the spiritual traditions I was raised within Christianity (and deviated from, of course, in my ongoing quest), so here I am, secretly investigating Astrology on RUclips, and hiding my tarot decks at home from a husband of 27 years, who doesn't understand. A conversation about spirituality (any kind that does not line up with traditional evangelical Christianity) is NOT a pleasant outcome in my house, even though I try so hard to explain my deviant point of view. This has baffled my dear husband (also Mercury in Scorpio, but in his 5th House) who discovered in his 30s that his weight was being caused by food addiction. He subsequently joined FA (Food Addicts Anonymous) and has been using the 12-step approach to curtail his obsessive relationship with flour and sugar. He has maintained a healthy weight since 2008 in this way. Interestingly also is that his NN is in Virgo in his 3rd house, so the expression of participating in this program (being sponsored, sponsoring others, attending meetings, speaking his story, and encouraging others to prime health standards) seems to be fulfilled simultaneously. I perceive that the spiritual aspect of FA is as close to a "deviant" religious viewpoint as I will ever see in my mate, and I have come to accept and support that endearing quality.

I have Mercury in Scorpio with Mars in Cancer and Mercury is my ascendant ruler. I have what's called "selective mutism" which means sometimes I'm physically unable to speak. My voice is really quiet and it's been a life-long struggle. I've been called "intense" and "intimidating" since I was a child. I tend to be really straight forward in how I speak and think, and I used to (I'm getting better I think, but still happens) unintentionally really offend people with things I'd say. People tend to spill their hearts out to me and tell me really personal things because I'm a good listener, they usually apologize for it but honestly I enjoy it. Thanks for this video, Acyuta! Having this placement rule my asc I'm always seeing new ways that it plays out in my personality and life.

Ah hah! Lol, so my mercury in Scorpio is in my second house. I work at a Farmers Market. For the people who own and operate it. I handle the money operations of the market day. And I spent almost 10 years in fast paced bar/restaurant life talking to people about their problems. Bartender/therapist. I wouldn’t even have to ask. But I also have moon there too so.. on some level I can easily emotionally relate to deep energies. And what do I do in my spare time? Research ALL the things. 😂 so.. now I’m trying to combine it with a fallen Mars exactly conjunct ASC in Libra.. I want to speak on ALL the things but I hold myself back, or make sure Im 1000% sure, because I get completely overwhelmed when people come at me about what I say. I write way better than I speak I feel unless I’m in a total flow state talking to someone who is receptive. Does that sound like a coherent delineation? (Saturn/Venus and sun in 3rd too) so much emphasis of communication but feeling totally restricted around it! Im taking your course and it is getting fun now. Currently, I’ve been obsessed with Criminal Minds. Complete tunnel vision, haven’t even wanted to watch any movies in honor of Halloween like I usually would, because studying the minds of serial killers and learning the ways of special agents has been a suddenly all consuming and completely engrossing fascination- an obsession one could say. Oddly, this process has been calming and grounding where for some I could see it being the other side of the spectrum- more unhinging and unnerving.
I find myself in many cases, in conversations and internal assessments as having more compassion than most for the perpetrator in many circumstances. I feel this is due to the fact I am aware of my own dark nature and how if I had been dealt a different set of cards, who knows what influences would have led me where.
When I write a song... it is almost always intensely dark and full of a quality of longing for some mysterious unknown.
I am subject to thinking about power dynamics quite a bit in relationships, and if I’m not careful this can be all consuming and dominate a lot of my thinking.
No surprise but I’m obsessed with astrology and interested in magic and the occult.
Having mars rx in Gemini can result in lots of ideas and a lack of execution and a frustration with applying myself (something I’ve had to devote myself strongly to overcoming)- I also bore very easily. And with the Gemini I also notice a deep fascination with anything paradoxical in nature- anything that kind of turns my mind inside out and plays on polarities and extremes. So as dark and deep as I like to take anything, I equally am drawn to the light, sparkling, rainbow, fantasy, playful qualities of life.
Having mercury in scorpio with this mars rx in Gemini reception also has me struggle with finding my words, and often with a great deal of frustration, I overcompensate to attempt to relay the truth of my intelligence. (Something I’ve also had to relax and let go of... which consequently allows for more flow and ease in my communications and portrayal of my thoughts
And I definitely value exposing or playing on taboos and can be quite contrarian just for the sake of it

I would say I am very secretive and investigate things as deeply as I can, I don't trust people easily. with it retrograde maybe that is why I have a hard time communicating. I feel like people don't understand me or except me. I've come across a lot crazy dark and secretive stuff in my life. I'm very philological, always trying to figure out life and esoteric things. but my mind is also always thinking, I can't seem to relax or focus on anything simple or mundane. I worry a lot. when it comes to communicating with others. I either share too much or just stay quite and isolate.. I wouldn't say I'm sharp tongued with people but I have to speak the truth and I suppose that stings a bit.

I am a Cancer and a quite secretive person. I have to admit, I don't get along very well with what I call the "Scorpio modality" of exposing the inconvenient.
