    How can a guy who's so smart so insightful so well educated so knowledgeable so sophisticated who speaks so persuasively be so wrong so often?
    What kind of a chance do I have if this guy is always wrong?

    Mussolini Italy era probably. Struggle but hold friends & family close. Like Pitt character in Big Short, learn to piss on yr seeds to grow food. That line is so amazing as was the scene about "music stopping". That's where we are. Now we watch how many more Moon and Mars trips there are in next 12 months. That will give us all an answer of our planet here and what money is doing. I'm eering on the Star Wars plot for Luke being on Tantoine as a child. Feels like Govts are losing the argument about not going digital and cloud. So we are all stuck on this planet with food insecurity etc. So consider downsizing to what is tolerable and chose yr visa wisely. War is temporary. It's telling that the Ukraine missile landing in Poland and pausing a key agenda discussion in Indonesia on Digital Transformation was suspended as an Emergency Meeting on stopping WW3. I'm not sure when the optimist crowd will wake up. Rest of us are prepping. Stagflation with a debt crisis Nouriel says. So did the book End of Work.

    thought provoking interview. But sorry WWIII has not started. Why is everything a "war" - maybe a real kinetic war but definitely not yet and not certain. Any how great interview and worth the watch.

      Everything isn’t a war, but don’t be naive to think war only happens when there’s marching armies invading others. Do you really think the U.S. stealing Russias money is not economic warfare? Are cyber attacks not part of war? I guess natural plants and export terminals that have been blowing up just are accidents. Funny how there’s accidents in the U.S. and Russia.
      I’d believe you about WW3 not starting if the government was transparent. But do you honestly know what the government spends money on? Even the official of accounting in their audit paper of the U.S. states they can’t audit all parts of the government and they have an on going concern of the U.S. financially able to continue. It’s one thing to keep names classified if you’re a government assassin or murderer or currently on a mission but there’s zero freaking reason to keep crap classified for 50 years. Like they just barely released info about jfks murder. Like ya the government is honest and benevolent and only wants the best for us but for some reason doesn’t trust people with the truth.

    this is just an horrible interview! the audio is terrible, he talks in a hurry, uses too much jargon that even the interviewer might not understand, says very controversial things as if they were indeed consensual, and does all that while talking about very distressful, harmful issues!! this is terrrorism almost; this is definitelly NOT the way to discuss these things; but congratulations: u should be getting lots of attention and spreading panic; if Roubini is not intentionaly farsical it's difficult to understand his intention, it's more likely he went mad;

    He makes some good points but others were bad. Workers are weaker earners when unions are weak. Like wtf? It was unions that destroyed Detroit. Pensions and companies taking that risk of investing for workers clearly didn’t work out otherwise Detroit wouldn’t be a dump. Now some unions did well because of the mafia or mob took the pensions and built Las Vegas and probably laundered some drug money there.
    But look out west and you’ll see there’s very few unions in some states while back east there’s lots of unions. If you watch the movie kill the Irishman you’ll see some truth never talked about. Some unions were forced or made by the mob to create money for themselves. That’s never discussed.
    This guy here said we can’t have free markets like the US had in the 1800s and that minimum wage and progressiveness of today is better. You do realize in the 1800s banks went bankrupt and they stayed bankrupt and weren’t bailed out. Personally I’d prefer a free market where people were paid in gold and silver and Saved themselves rather then relying and sweeping under the rug all the distortions the government creates today. There’s a reason for the past 50 years wages stagnated as assets skyrocketed. We went off gold back then and the government and bank created tons of credit inflating assets while they offshored menial jobs for cheap labor. Then the government for 40 years decreased interest rates which also drove assets up. How is any of that better then what we had in the 1800s? Ya we had some peace and more trade but the government bailing out Wall Street in 2020, 2008, dotcom long term capital management etc all lead to where we are with zombie companies and more wealth inequality. If you were paid in silver you could hold it. Today you have to invest your dollars or you’re the fool. Of course workers are getting screwed cause they monetary system helps with inflation and since fiat inflates or loses value it screws over workers. Imagine if workers were paid in silver.

    Love Roubini- Like a battling gun. So remember Guarden Fans:
    You are a fluke of the Universe, you have NO right to be here.
    Leaders of the world Kleptocracy R the bottom of the IQ barrel.

    Those that can't, manage.

    Caral Sagan1996 interview with Charlie rose.
    27 May 1996, interview with Charlie Rose, USA
    SAGAN: My feeling, Charlie, is that it's not that pseudoscience and superstition and New Age so-called "beliefs" and fundamentalist zealotry are something new. They've been with us for as long as we've been human. But we live in an age based on science and technology, with formidable technological powers.
    ROSE: Science and technology are propelling us forward at accelerating rates.
    SAGAN: That's right. And if we don't understand it, and by "we" I mean "the general public," if it's something that, "Oh, I'm not good at that, I don't know anything about it," then who is making all the decisions about science and technology that are going to determine what kind of future our children live in? Just some members of Congress? But there's no more than a handful of members of Congress with any background in science at all. And the Republican Congress has just abolished its own Office of Technology Assessment-the organization that gave them bipartisan, competent advice on science and technology. They say, "We don't want to know. Don't tell us about science and technology."
    ROSE: Surprising. What's the danger of all this? I mean, this is not the thing that...
    SAGAN: There's two kinds of dangers. One is what I just talked about. That we've arranged a society based on science and technology in which nobody understands anything about science and technology, and this combustible mixture of ignorance and power, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. I mean, who is running the science and technology in a democracy if the people don't know anything about it? And the second reason that I'm worried about this is that science is more than a body of knowledge. It's a way of thinking. A way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs for the next charlatan political or religious who comes ambling along. It's a thing that Jefferson laid great stress on. It wasn't enough, he said, to enshrine some rights in a Constitution or a Bill of Rights. The people had to be educated, and they had to practice their skepticism and their education. Oherwise we don't run the government-the government runs us.
    The Oligarchs have control. They own all the IOUs ($$) assets
    No regulation of speculative banking robbery.
    we have a nuclear explosion coming like now. recession by the US FED to fix what the US FED fucked up for 50+ years.
    Zero rates are for suckers racing for the bottom. The elite 1% have all the wealth. See very little labor is needed, if you can get cheap energy. Ha ha ha, remaining oil left is going down to when it cost a barrel to get on back.
    1% with all the marbles.. . . . . no kidding.
    Tax all wealth transfers.
    Tax Corporate profits, new concept.

    • @koltoncrane3099
      @koltoncrane3099 Год назад

      That is horrible advice. Talk about destroying any incentive to live in this screwed up country. Tax all wealth transfer and profits? Like if I work hard WTF should anything j own then be taxed again to go fund an endless war or be wasted by the government??? That’s as corrupt as any elite you’re describing.
      And you said republicans got rid of their technology advisors. They’re not the brightest but neither are democrats. Obama had a chance to promote clean energy and what did he do? He built a freaking solar farm that went bankrupt and transferred millions to the companies owners. He could have built a nuclear power plant but he didn’t. Democrats are as corrupt as republicans.
      And I loved the way you mentioned Jefferson as if you respected him. Jefferson believed in small government. It was hamilton that wanted the massive government with all the money printing and wasted spending and endless wars we have today.
      If you respect Jefferson you should have also said Jefferson is also against wealth transfer taxes and taxes on all profits.
      Here’s an idea. We get rid of the federal reserve, when we have a Great Depression let all businesses that go bankrupt actually go bankrupt, and also bring all US troops back to the U.S. We could quickly cut out half of the yearly expenses by doing a few things.
      If you’re patriotic like you quoted Jefferson then you’d also know George Washington said avoid foreign wars in europe as they have issues that go back centuries. At the bare minimum the Us should charge europe cost to have troops there. There’s no reason to continue to piss on the average American to benefit the rich Americans that profit from the military and the average American helps pay for europe to have free college and better health care as we subsidize them. It’s all corrupt.
      If you got rid of the central bank and let a recession wipe out businesses you’d solve a ton of problems quickly in a few short years. That’s a helluva lot more logical then supporting more government tyranny taxing wealth transfers and all profits.
      Seriously WTF should someone that worked hard pay extra to transfer wealth just so the U.S. can go murder more people or make the military industrial complex richer? What the hell is wrong with rewarding merit and reducing government and it’s waste?
