Question..... Is there a reason why the hood stripes are a different "shade" of gray than the body stripes??? The body stripes appear to be "light, medium then charcoal"... The hood appears to be " Iighter, light then charcoal". I just replaced my hood graphics TWICE! thinking I was gettin the wrong shade of gray, or is this normal for the body stripes to be different than the hood????
What a nice job. That beats the hell out of cutting it out with an Olfa knife on the car from rolled stock. It's not 1989 anymore and Trim Line is long dead.
I've always wondered about using lasers for that, but one thing I remember reading many years ago is that jack-stands (as tempting as they might be) are a no-no when applying graphics like that - especially with a unibody car. I don't think I'd trust a drive-on/wheel lift either, since there's all kinds of flex driving the car up on there. Now if there's a good set of frame connecters on there then you still want to be careful to achieve a flex-neutral stance. That info was RE applying Shelby rocker stripes on old GT 350s. I'd probably just go with careful masking, and rattlecans, but I'm a cheapass. Them wheels on that car are pretty rare. I also like the turbines and the old body color steel five spokes with trim rings, which date back to the '72 Z28 and Chevelle SS. Excellent video, theme, and thumbnail, and I'm loathe for youtube shoptalk...
@@DanEBoyd we are the same way with Jack stands, I have 4 of the race blocks that help, we used two for this. It’s crazy seeing a car “flex” on Jack stands! When we used the level we found a straight (ish) body like and measured off that. I’m a sucker for youtube shop talk too and thanks for watching!!! I’m trying new ideas on thumbnails, but I’m too much of a cheap ass to buy the software that makes the cool one 🤣

i noticed that too, kind of odd right?
So your hood stripes ARE a different shade than the body stripes? You installed a complete kit right? Hmmmmmm he says.... @@2HacksGarage
@@orion4389 they look to be slightly different. Was it like that from the factory? That I do not know. This is a friends car, not mine…

I’m just glad we didn’t have to have a part 2 of this video, that usually means something went wrong 🤣

He’s gonna shit, and then he’s going to kill us!
