Assuming they were using level 3+ plates before which stops all pistol rounds and some rifle rounds. So they would have been fine against deimo’s revolver. They likely switched to level 4 plates which will stop even more rifle rounds
well who knows, it's a somewhat fictional universe, where technology might have progressed differently in some ways, ballistic science might have been more advanced, and Deimos might have had specialized rounds in his revolver that can penetrate even rifle-rated plates.

I did digging into the timeline, and the current events of the game are happening between 2023 and 2025. So almost present day with just about the same technological advancements

One its 44 magnum, 2 it's all iffy considering all this trauma plate bs can be easily done away if rook just wears a level 4 plate considering that can stop a 30-06 armor piercing round

I meant “down but not out” as this since call of duty has perk where instead of dying your knocked for a few seconds and can shoot your secondary weapon.
