BEST Satay in Malaysia! SATE KAJANG + Kuih Udang & Kuih Bakar - Malaysian Street Food in KL & Melaka

- Опубликовано: 6 сен 2024
- Foreigners try Malaysian Food! This time we went to Kajang near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to try its famous Sate Kajang.
Many people recommended us to go to Willy Satay Kajang or Sate Kajang Haji Samuri but unfortunately they were closed due to Hari Raya in Malaysia. So we ended up in Sate Emas Kajang where the place sells many types of satay including sate arnab (rabbit), sate rusa (deer), sate ayam (chicken), sate kambing (goat), sate itik (duck), and our favourite, sate burung unta (ostrich)! Man, we were so glad that we ended up here as their satay did not disappoint. Definitely 5 stars!
Before we went to have satay for dinner, we were actually on our way back from Melaka to Kuala Lumpur with Abang Ajib. We stopped at Kuih Udang Alor Gajah/ Cucur Udang Alor Gajah for lunch , and a quick stop at Kuih Bakar Kuala Ina and Kuih Bahulu Kuala Ina which was very interesting to see.
Kuih Udang Alor Gajah: Medan Selera Pasar Menggong, Jalan Dato Dol Said, 78000 Alor Gajah, Malacca
Kuih Bakar Kuala Ina: 1539, Jalan Baiduri 2, Taman Baiduri, 78000 Alor Gajah, Melaka
Sate Emas Kajang: Bandar Kajang, 43000 Kajang, Selangor

Abg Ajib should be chosen as Malaysia's tourism ambassador
@@hudahalim18 thanks huda for a good comment..i really appreciate
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for ostrich!
Definitely! Surprisingly good
Every youtuber who visited malaysia will become food blogger
lol! There’s too much good food to ignore. It’s everywhere...
Satay Emas Kajang among the best satay in town.
Fun fact: The direct translation of ostrich in Malay is “camel bird” (burung unta)
Lol! It’s actually a pretty good description!
About the T-shirt. It has to print JetLag Warriors FC - for Fan Club. Where is it selling? Abg Ajib the agent?
Imagine big bird in" Sesame Streets". : )
nasi lemak =fat rice ..haha
I can tell that your reviews are truly sincere and authentic. Now I'm hungry hahahaha.
Thanks!! We always give our honest opinion👍
And time for dinner?
@@JetLagWarriors
When it comes to 'food', Steve is always serious. He even gives his honest opinion about budu. Bravo to Steve, and of course to Ivana too...
Hey guys, how about "Jetlag Warriors: One Year Malaysian Food Adventure" project?
I’ve tried chicken, beef, deer and cow stomach satays. Never tried duck, lamb and ostrich yet but luckily I live in Kajang so will try them soon or maybe tomorrow 🤔
You won't regret it! Enjoy
JetLag Warriors i wont but my purse will 💸💸😂😂 thanks for the video. Never heard bout this kedai before.
Cemburu ni... jauh betul nak naik kapal terbang lagi.
Cow stomach = cow's tribe.
Abdul Hadi As'ad alHaj Mohamad thank you 😊
One of the best Malaysian Mat Salleh channel. Stay safe Steve & Ivana.
Nasiblah hari ni kebetulan makan sate. Sate ayam, sate daging dan sate kambing. Kalau tidak, mesti panas hati masa tengok video ni 😂.
Sate Kajang memang best, saiz besar-besar puas hati. Nasiblah ada juga sate saiz besar di Sabah ni macam yang aku beli tadi. Tapi tak boleh lawan saiz sate sebelah sana.
Peanut sauce can go with anything really. I sometimes just eat peanut sauce with rice. And you guys kill me everytime you dip those satay in thr peanut sauce I can literally taste it through my screen 😅😅
Taste through the screen! Lol! Also, glad I am not the only one who eats peanut sauce with rice 😂
True, pisang goreng, cakoi, lemang, ketupat, nasi impit, kelupis, lamban, blanched vegetables, tempe, damn the options are endless.
Ir Yan sounds good!
Muhammad Nizamuddin heaven!!
Food glorious food..steve n ivana & greg n jumi. Enjoy the Malaysian food taste n hospitality. Do come again.
Thank you so much. We plan to explore and enjoy more food in Malaysia. Stay tuned for more videos😊

Wow! What a great comment. Thanks for this, and nice to
meet you! We have loved traveling Malaysia, and should have lots more good content to come!
Never knew about satay ostrich in kajang .. I should give a try. Ivana always pronounces malay words correctly
Definitely give ostrich a try! You won’t regret it
Need to remember, onion and cucumber are not a random side dishes, it has it own purposes which is during or after you eating a satay you need to eat the cucumber or onion because it help to clean your bodies from carbon you consumed coming from the charcoal on satay
Wow! Never knew that! Ok good advice
Sate Kajang....so.delicious....haji Samuri satay Kajang the best in town
we have to try that and willy satay!
Ohhhhh😱😱😱...when u see u guys...enjoying eating satay also make me soooooo hungry
So glad that you can make it to kuala ina, alor gajah...that is my hometown.😍😍..the kuih bakar there really famous and delicious...they use the traditional way to bake the kuih bakar...
Satay kajang is the best satay in Malaysia. The peanut sauce is amazing.
Hoping to get there soon, Unfortunately it was closed, but the ostrich satay we had was fantastic too
@@JetLagWarriors lol satay that you eat is called satay kajang. Satay kajang is like a 'branded satay'. The origins is from kajang, selangor. Typical satay kajang are the meats are bigger than normal satay, the peanuts sauce is grey color and sambal at the side. It's more pricey but worth the money
Wow.....Steve, Ivana, Greg, Jumi & Ajeeb All Together Eating Satay. This Is A REAL Satay Party.Miss U Lots Satay~From Dublin With❤️
Satay party! Just great! Good food with good friends
@@JetLagWarriors
Good Point.....U 2.
Wow, amazing looking satay. Everyone is enjoying them. Fantastic.
Kuih udang is called cucur udang, shrimp fritters with some bean sprout, and sometimes with some scallion
Sounds yummy
I just had my dinner and when Ivana and Steve chewing and chewing and eating and slurping make me feel hungry again.. hahahahaha.. ohhhh i am just happy to watch your video. So excited.. couldnt wait for the next one. And abg Ajibbbbb you are the BINTANG really..
Great comment! Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed!
Sate Kajang!!! My favourite, the last time i went there was when im in college year, i remember i order 1 more bowl of the peanut sauce, which is amazing
Wow! Some people told me to eat it with bread... I’m like 🤔... good idea!!
You both are so genuine..the best!!!!!
thank you
This is indeed the best place to eat satay in Malaysia. Way² better than the famous Satay Kajang Samuri. But if you want to taste the best Beef Satay. waze for Satay Kimi, Sungai Merab. Nearby Kajang area.
There is one stall in Kajang do sell satay Salmon with soya sauce not peanut...Enjoy your makan!✌️🐈
The serving of satay usually have cucumber, onion and ketupat/nasi impit. You guys can dip and eat it with peanut sauce. If take-away, the left over peanut sauce is best to be eaten with white bread or buns. I have been to Haji Samuri's satay but I think its over-rated.
I must try the ostrich satay next time at Satay Emas Kajang.
Thanks for the tips!
Agreed. Hj Samuri's satay is over rated. It used to be good but not anymore since, idk, too commercialised, or subletting maybe.
@@zamrutfazilah5974 lack of quality control and complacent. I do hope they step up if not, they will be left behind.
Kuih Udang is called cucur udang.
The one you had is southern version.
Try northern version. They're glazed or prepared with peanut sauce dip instead of sweet sour chilli sauce.
ooh is there one in kelantan?
@@JetLagWarriors normally when we say Northern region it refers to Perak, Penang, Kedah & Perlis
Kelantan, Terengganu & Pahang are east coast region.
Not sure they have it or not, but if they do, definitely not gonna be the same with the northern version.
The cucur udang in Penang especially, even though can be ordered or sold individually, normally is part of Pasembur.
Be there after Kelantan and give it a try 😉
Ke On cool, thanks!
It's a good thing that you went to Sate Emas because that place is legit. There's another place for sate in Kajang: Sate Rono but I think they only serve the normal ones. Sate Willy is okay-lah now, they used to be better, this is because they started to mass produce their sate factory-style same as Sate Samuri. Sate Samuri? Big, big no.
Ok I am having satay this night because of you!!!😩
Yum yum. You won’t regret it 😊
Pegi makan satay kimi kat bangi pastu korang mesti taknak balik kanada hahaha...
You guys found the holy grail of sate, I live in kajang and there's a lot of underrated sate place. sometimes i pity those that got exposed to the infamous overrated sate place. I'm proud to called Kajang a home now and Sate Emas is where i go to get my sate. if I'm not mistaken, they should have sate pigeon too. and the rusa ( deer ) is good too.
Yes! Deer and pigeon were sold out, but no problem, we still ate like royalty
Satay Emas, just next to MRT station.. I prefer this place compared to Haji Sahmuri which is too crowded.. I've tried the deer meat but its too chewy but I've never try the ostrich, maybe I will try after watching your video
Deer can be pretty ‘gamey’. We eat a lot of deer in Canada, there’s a certain rough or chewy, even stringy texture. Ostrich has none of that! Giver a try you won’t regret it
@@JetLagWarriors noted👍
I will definitely try the ostrich sate next time😊 Also if u have a chance do try porcupine aka landak's meat,
one of the most tasty n sweet meat I've ever taste..
Part 3!!! Hahaha...great video and most important you make me hungry. Hope there part 4......
Thanks for watching ❤️
Whats you eats almost everything local dishes and satay is the most on the list on any big days events. wow delicious'
So delicious!! A+ food 😁
you are so close to 20k subs!
Yes!! Thanks for your support😊
We plan to do a livestream once we hit 20K✌️
I suddenly felt starving looking at both of you enjoying satay. So delicious
Satay is so craveable! Meat + Fire = Heaven
Satay Emas! My favourite spot for satay in Kajang since childhood. You should order Perut Tembusu @ cow stomach.
Second recommendation so far - will look into it! Thanks
Thank you for the information. Love satay so much. Will go when we get the chance to travel again. 😍 From Singapore.
You won’t regret it. Ostrich was a BIG surprise!
So coincidence...i just had 10 chicken sate for dinner, before Maghrib today@Restoran Che Mad Bandar Sri Putra Bangi...as good taste as Sate Kajang...if not better...👍👌✌
Awesome! Satay is so great 🤪🤪
I haven't try satay Kajang yet but The Best Satay in the world that I've ever had was Malaysia Airlines (MAS) satay @ 39k feet!😂✈️💺🥰😍😋👍🏻 The tender chicken & beef satay just melts in the mouth no matter how many sticks u have!😋😋6️⃣🌟
Wow! Satay flying high in the sky! Sounds great
@@JetLagWarriors U Must try if you're taking a flight to Kota Kinabalu (KK)! 🥰😋👍🏻👍🏻 It's so reputable it was Nominated as the Best Satay in the world by Skytrax! 👍🏻6️⃣🌟
Joyce Tan wow flying may not be the best option at the moment. But we sure will try if we happen to fly the airline!
@@JetLagWarriors Don't miss it! If u happen to fly wt MAS, do let me know. 😉🤫
In certain satay shops in Kelantan, you can actually order white (usu slightly toasted) bread to sop up the left over peanut sauce in your bowl.
It’s a good idea. I would go for that.
I really enjoy all of your entertaining videos👍🏼
Glad you enjoy! Thanks for watching
After watching you eating the satay, now im craving satay. Ok i need to order on Foodpanda.
You guys really made me hungry, even though I've just had my dinner a couple of minutes ago. Looks yummy guys. Please come back to Penang guys.....
We might be back in Penang, who knows? It looks like we will be in Malaysia for some time! Stay tuned
Wow... I also love sate kajang...
❤️
Thats the masterpiece for satay..satay eat together with peanut sauce..great combo👍👍
So delicious 😁
Satay looks real delicious! I would say satay is probably the only food where savoury and sweetness combine well together😋😋
You guys missed the Melaka satay.
Should have tried the chinese version. The sauce is totally different. It has the pineapple fruity taste.
Yummy and 5 star comparable to the Malay satay. 😄
Ah, we tried but we didn’t vlog it! It’s really good. We were at a local place and the family was laughing at us, as we kept ordering a few more, over and over again!
Apa ni. Nak compare2 dengan Malay satay pulak.
Alamak .....!
Awesome content as always, Steve and Ivana!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed
Ahhh i miss the cucur udang in Alor Gajah, eat there every week during my diploma year in malacca
Lucky you! Got an education in school, and in education in great food
Keep vlogging about Malaysia and your channel subscription & views will keep on increasing. Believe me
You're back with A-Bang! (See what I did there).... Man that Wabbit looks good.
Lol! Great comment! Wish I could give 2 hearts lol
Yup...actually sate emas is one of LEGEND in kajang..there is one more LEGEND SATE.. that is SATE KING...
oh we must try the LEGEND!!!
Look at that huge bowl of peanut sauce! 😍😋 I'm one who must have tons of sauce if I eat satay... Would love to try that place. Used to go to Hj. Samsuri's 'cos it's so easy to access. Just a train trip from where we are...
You won’t regret eating here! It’s amazing, the ostrich changed my life
I went to the main Satay Kajang before. I personally prefer their branches better. There's one branch in Damansara Uptown and I always order from there.
as a Malaysian..im never eat rabbit because its cute...neither ostrich and duck...
both of you is awesome, brave to try something new...glad to yourslf,🤩🤩🤩😹👍👍👍
thanks! do try the sate in kajang. They also have chicken and goat
@@JetLagWarriors actually kajang is my place..they have a lot satay's restaurant to offer...hahaha...
Mohd Radzi Azizi Abd Aziz oh i would eat satay everyday if i live in Kajang!
Come to South Africa and you can eat Ostrich meat.everyday....ostrich.is our local bird. I never try it. Now I will...looks good
Wow! Ok, next stop South Africa! lol. Try it, I don’t think you’ll regret it
Satay Kajang Hj Samuri has few outlets so not have to go all the way to Kajang if urge for fairly good satay..I usually just stick to chicken satay as if well marinated and dip into a good peanut sauce and onions and cucumber to dip into peanut sauce..rabbits too adorable I dare not eat..ostrich meat satay not tried yet..maybe next time..I love the flavour of satay marination, hence I am ok to just choose chicken as it's not to strong in taste so will not overwhelmed the taste of lemongrass and tumeric in the marinated meat
You might like ostrich! But good points about why chicken is the best. The marinade + peanut sauce is so satisfying
almost all the foreigner vloggers i followed/subscribed to, turn into foodie during their stay in malaysia.. hahahahahahaha...
LOL!
It’s no use in Malaysia. You just find yourself craving great food, because it’s everywhere!!
Next time you have peanut sauce leftovers dip bread into the sauce..wow awesome dude. You should try once...go for takeaway..that way you get to try the peanut sauce at home.
It’s a good idea! Will try
Wow kueh bakaq with giant kueh
Satay look yummy.
So good! We honestly should’ve bought 5 more. Just delicious
JetLag Warriors ohhh yaa maybe one day when im heading to melaka i can try it to fine the place thank you for info bro.
Amazing SATAY! Btw i love to eat peanut sauce with plain white bread! 😁
With bread??? Never tried. Sounds like a guilty pleasure I could get into though lol
I'm droolling until the end of this vedeo😋
that was our goal🤪
And here I was just thinking and craving for sate.. 😂😂
Just had the satay yesterday evening with my family. Same place in Kajang. My wife was really craving for some 'perut' meat or tripe (intestine). So after the one in PJ was sold out, we went to Kajang. A restaurant in Kajang also sold out. Then I told her, why not try the place this particular vlogger went yesterday. When we reached there, first I was a bit surprised, there was only two stalls open. Used to be a lively place. The last time we went, the MRT station was not even there. Just two stall? I was really2 sad my wife could be in for a disappointment. She had that particular expression of giving up. Then it turned out the satay stall had almost everything on the menu. I ordered all kinds in small portions plus 2 kinds of tripe (in malay tembusu and babat). Yes the ostrich was great though the color looked like normal beef. Thanks Steve/Ivana. You kinda saved our day (my ass too).
Awesome story! Glad you enjoyed the ostrich, and your dinner was not lost! Thanks for sharing that
@@JetLagWarriors thanks again
Another thing. She waited a whole week for that tripe but I could not do it sooner cause of work. She has a chronic ailment so anything she craves, she gets or at least I try my best.
Dude you all now abang Azif family 🤣
Wow amazing satay 😍😍🤣
Yes!! Abang Ajib is awesome ❤️
