In this video we fix the broken cables for the REAR door on my 2006 Ford E150 Econoline van. This is a good DIY project with minimal tools needed box cutter and pliers it probably would've taken hours to find a solution but i found some videos and hopefully this one helps as well, this fix should work on multiple year models e150 e250 e350.

Thank you so much! I had no idea it could be this simple! Also, when I did this, the cable no longer had quite enough tension to always open the latch. So I bent the cable inside the door and ran a zip tie around to hold it in place. Works perfectly ever since.
Your video was the best detailed repair . How about Ford Econoline 150 side swing door not opening neither front inside and outside. Both side doors
this is exactly what i needed dude your great! I didn't know how the clips internally operated and everyone else does it off camera. THANKS!
I watched a bunch of other videos and could not understand where the ball went. Yours gave me what i needed. Thank you.
Needed to see this really bad. Thanks for the awesome shot from the inside. Your coordination is amazing.
Great video....showing both hands working is 5 stars. Right to the point.
hey Mike you are great person, Thank you for your this video I help me a lot now I can fix my broken wire cable latch.
Thanks for the video, got the required parts, replaced them problem fix once again thanks.
... And to think I was going to get a "professional" to fix mine. 😁
Picking up the repair kit on my way home today and going to give it a go.
3:45 Sliding the cable end clop/holder to the side was shown clear enough for anyone to understand.
THANK YOU.
Thank you these home videos are Great
Good job, fwiw there are no cable ties in that door. There are cable end groove retention slides.
Imma try it. Thank you!
Great video, Thanks.
Awesome. Wow. 👌👍 thank you
Greetings, thx for video, I had replaced ends, but now 1 cable has slack in it . How do I get slack out ,so pull opens handle
Thanks for the video 👍👍
Ditto!
the wood flooring is legist!
What is the name and number of that clip that goes on the cable so I can pick it up
That is the easy side did you do the right rear door?
You are going to be doing that job again soon. The other end of the cables have that brittle plastic too and will probably soon fail.
This is very likely, I replaced the same part on the side door handle now the bottom latch needs the same repair.
Ford should have had to do a recall as often as these break. PIA!
@@nonyabiz550 i think they did but only for f150 3rd door and ranger...no love for the e series...
Hi.. what's the part number of the metal pieces you replaced? Ty
Is it harder on the other side(passenger)??
Can't even open up my side doors the same vehicle
Great Job. What were the part numbers on the parts?
did you get the number part?
I have a 2004 e150 and bought new cables because one of the little balls came off. Is the install just as easy? 😳
my side door is stuck. the bottom kinda open but it just doesnt. I can open one of the two side doors. Would it be the same thing>?
What product did you use from Auto Zone for the door latch? I’m having the same problem with my door.
Dorman Door Latch Cable Repair Kit 926-111, its about 11 dollars now and I had to go to a few Autozones it seems it's not stocked at every location.
Nice video and smarts to do the job. Other videos have them disassembling the latches completely 🤡
Im in a heack of a bind, mine wont open to get to it and its a conversion van and the bed is folded down butted up against back door from inside. Anyone have any ides lol ive tried everything can think of. The left side's cable is completely off, someone had previously tried to fix it.
Why is it that when I get to do stuff I saw on YT it doesn't come as easy?
What do you do if it is the actual latch that's broken
Duh "Replace it!🤣
The side door can not get it open from inside or the outside
Easy fix ? yes i fixed this maybe 6 times and it only took me two years
