Hi Mr. Kevin, I recently stumbled upon your channel and I must say, it's been a real deal for me, especially in my search for affordable luxury travel reviews. I can't help but think I should have discovered it sooner! Your approach to the reviews, from the meticulous detail to the carefully selected soundtrack, is truly enjoyable. The numerical breakdown you provide also makes it easier for me as a viewer to grasp. And your narration style, peppered with just the right amount of humor 🤣 adds a delightful touch without compromising the essence of the review. Thank you for the incredible effort you put into your content. You've not only gained a subscriber, but also a dedicated fan!
Thank you so much for introducing me to the Alila brand a year ago when I fell in love with their style after watching your Alila Ubud review. Just booked a short all inclusive stay at their smallest property in Bali, the resort in Manggis just to indulge 🥰….can’t wait!
Ah and Manggis is such a STEAL! Cash or points… I know it’s a bit of a drive to get there but it really is a great value for an upscale property on the island. Can’t wait to go there myself sometime, I’m curious how you’ll like it. Thank you as always for the support 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@tfft will let you know, we’ll go there in 2 1/2 weeks 🥰 Their restaurant is also called Seasalt…maybe there are some of the same dishes on the menu, because it all looked so mouth-wateringly delicious 🙏🏼
I think I agree, it could be overcast or rain all day but this resort would still look stunning. Such manicured gardens. Breakfast looks good, thought put into the dishes. A very nice property - cannot fault this one! 🌴
Those green walls just make it feel so fresh - it's probably why it looks good on drab days: it always looks verdant. Oh, and that's how you have a temple on site, rather than building a ruin and treating it with fake reverence.
Thanks for a great video again Kevin, am looking for a beachfront resort for a few nights in Seminyak next year and this might have vaulted to the top of the list
I appreciate you taking eleven takes to get your video without guests walking past you! I also appreciate the fact that you pronounced “tape” correctly 😁 Unfortunately the only Alila I’ve been to is Alila Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur LOL I wonder what happened to their plans in some of the more exotic places in Indonesia like Tarabitan in North Sulawesi and Bintan (near Singapore).
I'm not sure of the plans, but my guess would be, those were planned before Hyatt bought them? I can't imagine Hyatt investing in a resort in the likes of Sulawesi and Bintan when frankly, they have a lot of other more popular places they could/should be expanding into first. Thanks for watching 🩴
Wow 🤩! Really nice. From the food to the room (your upgraded one) to the spectacular setting, everything was on point. Makes up for some of your less than spectacular resort stays. Thanks for sharing
I'm surprised you haven't visited the Ayana resort in Bali, I think you would really like that place. Would love to see your impressions of that resort as you make some of the best videos on resorts I have seen on RUclips.
I generally don't levitate to resorts which have a huge sponsored influencer presence on RUclips. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, just a choice.
Great review. The brand really takes pride in maintaining their properties, even the old(ish) one in uluwatu is pretty outstanding for its age, and the service in the Bali properties is actually somewhat different from the Alila in KL, sad to say. Also love how you try and contain your excitement for how good the property is :)
Agree about the condition and I appreciate that they use materials that are made to last more than just a few years like many new hotels are doing now. Thanks for watching 🩴
I staeyd here perhaps 4 or 5 years ago - had a largely great stay in what was an amazing room (a beach or seminyak suite from memory). However the door (one that swings open and closed rather than slides) to one of the bathrooms had no handle on it so you could have to reach around, pull it shut, and quiuckly move your hand out of the way so it didn't get cuaght, and hope that you did so with enough force for it to shut. It was odd. And the staff didn't seem to understand how that was weird. Also, the food at breakfast I thought was exceptionally avergae such that I didn't bother with it after the first day given the great cafes in the area. Other than that it was hard to beat and staff were very friendly. This was before it became part of Hyatt - so perhaps the food has improved since then too. A great review as always!
Already did throw your playlists on loop overnight! Would love to see the St Regis and W reviewed if you get back to Bali. I’m having trouble deciding between them for an upcoming trip
The beach club your first room looked over was Mrs Sippy, not Potato Head. I’ve actually stayed at Alila in the rooms backing onto the actual Potato Head, and never heard a thing. Potato Head, having a (stunning) hotel itself goes to great lengths to contain its music. I really do encourage you to stay at Potato Head Suites or the smaller Studios - the stunning architecture, amazing food, spectacular location is actually my pick over Alila Seminyak
Someone else pointed it out, thanks for that. I suppose when I was in Bali (the time when I made up my mind about that being Potato Head) I suppose Google Maps may have been influenced by Potato Head's ads or something. Either way, I've added a note about it in the description. Thanks for watching 🩴
I've been eagerly awaiting this review from you. You did a great job (as always) I'll be there in a few weeks and you've amped up my excitement even more. Btw: the shot of the beach club with the loud music was Mrs Sippy, not Potato Head. I'd love to see you review Potato Head. Its one of my favourite places to stay in Bali and I rate it very highly.
I'm glad I stayed at Alila. W would have been way too party-friendly. Alila is the perfect mix of being family-friendly yet trendy without the fussiness you mentioned. Several years ago, I remembered seeing the Alila beach roped off from non-guests, so I thought it was quite "exclusive" back then.
Love this review. Couldn't agree more that the breakfast buffet at Alila Seminyak is excellent. Only the room was a bit dated and I can see some wear and tear on their furnitures while I stayed there. Anyway, please do One and Only Desaru Coast. Would love to see your review 😅
Between this place, and the Ubud and Uluwatu properties, I'm thinking I'll have to start planning a trip to Bali (though not soon, next one in the works is a Switzerland/Egypt/Thailand trip for early 2025).
Well you just made my vacation plan quite easy. Thanks Kevin!! Alina Seminyak will be. There isn’t like a sunset at the Java Sea. Abrazo- Peace of I. GG
Great stuff - and I'd consider splurging to stay there. I'll come back for a second viewing of that dessert, once I've Wiki'd 'jackfruit'. Seminyak or Uluwatu? I still think the former - but the convenience of the resort for excursions might be the clincher in my planning. This aspect is something that caught me out in my trip to Thailand.
The price difference between the Uluwatu and Seminyak properties is so much that it's kinda like comparing a Park Hyatt to a Holiday Inn... So it's just a matter of do you want 4 nights in Seminyak? or 1 in Uluwatu? lol
Nice review as usual! Yeah, not a fan of Seminyak but this property was pretty good! We also visited the Alila in Ubud and loved it. Totally different vibe. I'm an Alila loyalist 😊
The time of year I visited is always in the opening graphic (Spring 2023) and the best times of year to visit are in the FAQ graphic (varies…). Thanks for watching 🩴
They've got some good ones on the island... the only thing I think they're missing is perhaps a Park Hyatt Uluwatu (or Nusa Dua). Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft oh I see, because I saw that you could just walk into pool 1 as its seems to just be an open access, so I thought it may also be the case for pool 3 😅 thank you btw!

I remember that I felt as if being at the gay beach again at the opening party.... so finally I think everyone is proud now that Alila built such an extraordinary good hotel at this beautiful spot.
Thanks for sharing that. While I'm sure there are still some that wish it was never built, being a part of the community myself, I'd say an Alila is just about the most LGBTQ+ friendly large chain you could get on the island. Thanks for watching 🩴
lol I'm guilty of being a patron of Potato Head my last visit lol The food was really good there though! Even more reason to stay at the Alila next door now but on the other side lol

we are quite disappointed at the Alila. stayed here after a stay at the nearby W. While the hard product of the Alila is better--great pools, nice modern rooms and the in-room amenities were all nice touch. But, and it's a big but, the soft product is not up to par. The staff's engagement is random at best, during check in, no explanation about the resort layout amenities etc. the food itself was the biggest disappointment of all, for us. there were very few local food on offer, and the qualities were not consistent. I get the fact that why resorts like this around here (same as at W) offered mostly western food. but the Alila had even less than W, and not quite as good. The breakfast offering was not great neither, while the fruit section were better. the service in general was just not up to par for a 5-star resort
Shocking to hear this about this property. I've heard mixed reviews about the Alila Manggis but rarely a bad word about any of the others on the island. Thanks for sharing ✈️
U gave too high of a score for this one lol... I stayed here before, and CS was great, and food was good too, but the hotel itself i dont find it that gorgeous looking... U stayed in St regis before? Or even W, they look much nicer to me, albeit, probably not the kinda crowded u like lol... But the pools in W were amazing... I dont find this alila particularly visually stunning though... But CS is great like u said
Keep in mind my scores are relative to price. The W is double the price of the Alila and the St. Regis, triple. And yes, I’ve stayed at the St. Regis before, it’s a very very different experience and class of hotel all together lol, hard to compare.
Lovely place but I think you made it look a little boring with no people anywhere! It looked so empty that it makes me not want to go there. My brother & his wife, niece & her husband were there this week & said it was packed. It would look better if there were a few people around I think!
I understand, but I reckon if you were here vacationing you wouldn’t be too happy if there was a guy constantly walking around recording you and your family. That’s why it’s always my policy to exclude guests as much as practically possible and film during off peak times. If I’m disturbing a guest on vacation, then I’m literally defeating the entire purpose of publishing these videos. Thanks for watching 🩴
Stayed here expecting a lot after this review but was left very disappointed. Hotel is rather dated and my wife and I received food poising from sea salt on two separate occasions
We visited in May and this video does a wonderful job of showcasing this fantastic property. One of the best breakfast buffets I've enjoyed.

Agree to disagree! I saw nothing dated about it while I was there.
