    Factory 40mm downdraughts have shorter securing nuts on the shaft and the factory manifold has a tiny bit more room .
    The factory throttle linkage where the cable links to is on the far right instead of the middle .

    So glad you guys did this…I owned a ‘79 as well and I’ve been wanting to do this upgrade but ALL I read about Chinese knock offs was that they were a piece of crap…I guess that’s just not true. Awesome work!!!

    Question about the fuel line. Is it better to run it from the front carb to the back carb like you did or would it be better to run to the middle and T off to both of them?

      This is the way Fiat designed it to work on the stock Dual IDF cars, but it really doesn’t matter, either way is fine.

      @@HiRevzMedia Thanks, I am getting close to being able to work on the Fiat and I had bought to chinese carbs and an intake and then I came across two vintage Italian Webers and intake...so, getting ready to rebuild the webers and do the swap.

    first...as I have said in other posts/pics your Fiat is amazing.
    now, questions.
    To go to the dual carbs did you change cams upgrade anything else?
    I have a 74 Fiat 124 spider...should I go with the 40s instead? Stock motor for the most part. Header and electronic ignition conversion is it.

      Thank you very much, and no, no need to change the cams for this. These are way under carb’d from the factory. 40’s would be perfect on your car. Figuring out your throttle cable may be a little tricky, but I believe Vicks sells a conversion cable with a built in spring. Will just need to make a mount for it.

      They come with cams from the factory.

      These engines already have pretty hot cams from the factory. With IDFs, too much LSA can cause reversion, which is bad for independent runner configurations.
