I had the 6x9" speaker version on my last bike and loved it. It was plenty loud with a great sound. The think the 6x9" speakers sound better than 4 smaller speakers (but I don't know for sure because I have never done a side by side comparison) I just liked the look with two speakers instead of four. The brackets it mounts on were a little weak in my opinion because the fairing would move when I hit bumps and pot holes. They could be stronger or thicker metal.
Hehe. Yes very true . You are 100% right. The biggest joy is when you can take a trip. Being on the bike for a week is amazing. Thank you for watching n commenting . Be safe
While this is true , it should be noted that this is all to be taken as a grain of salt. You are listening to audio through recorded audio , so results can vary for others. Hopefully the bigger picture helps someone in whichever decision they make with some of these items.
@@dbest1aVlogs you are right sir, just got my bike and I wanted to see what you thought of the fairing before I install speakers, thanks for your input
Oh I love the fairing. I did y change the shield. The ones with it are not so great. I got another from freedomshield.com. I show it in later videos.. helps more with wind control. I only wish I ordered a Lorne shorter so I see over. Rainy days are tough

Hey man I love your fairing set up. And yes I have got to bite on it. Where did you get it from if you don’t mind. I also have a 2014 v star 1300. I just got and this little zumo sucks bad.
I go over the full set up from A to Z on the Reckless Fairing playlist in the description. It starts out pretty basic with the unboxing , then going into the speaker install, radio install and then sand and paint. A huge learning experience for me. I know most would prefer to contract out for the paint, and I fully respect that. Actually for a professional result I'd recommend it. I did learn a lot though through the paint process. Wheather to use an amp or not is purely up to the end user. I chose not to, mainly due to reduced weight and power draw. I could install a small one though if I were to do a lot of highway miles. As it is ... it's really great on backroads, and ok on highways with the freedom shield. See later videos for me using the short shield sent from Reckless. Great on hot days.
Thank you . The beginning was the go pro 8 , with a slight mix of the external . The riding i was glad came out decent. I hear a bit more wind noise when I am riding, but I can still hear the audio..
Thank you . I have really been enjoying it, and loving the freedom shield addition. Its a very smooth wind routed ride now. On a hot day I could take the fairing off and naked cruise too.
Thank you. I really like it for playing music just loud enough for me to hear. I don't need an amp, and the sound inmho is still pretty good. You can play with the eq tune also to help fine tune the sound.

Good morning sir. I have a 2009 v star 1300 that I just got the reckless fairing for but I can’t seem to find the passing light kit. Where did you find yours? Everyone that I find it at says they don’t have the turn signal relocation kit for the turn signals and it’s driving me crazy. Been looking for a year now. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
If you check out the playlist of the install . I got the fairing barebones... no radio . Then added my kenwood , no amp. You can add an amp though if you run more powerful speakers. I just wanted minimal weight over the front end. I am also running low watt RMS speakers so they are easy to push.
Nice video..I like the fairing and setup that you have. I'm buying a fairing for my 2020 HD heritage classic. Is that the Newburgh/Conn area you're driving through?

Hahaha, that's so true.. just sit down and type in the credit to this musician lol. I am really happy with it. Definitely was a fun learning experience
I did a video detailing price. In the reckless fairing playlist. Which should be down in the description. Time wise, I'm not sure .. maybe a month , depends on busy I am . Plus I was down 3 weeks with covid too. All depends on how fast you work also. Anything is possible.
I am 5'11 , but remember I have the Ed big touring seat. So it sits me a little higher than stock seat. I basically see through the shield. Can be iffy in rain. I treated the shield with rain x , but didn't do much. I have to check the paperwork. I believe they said use rain x plastic . Lol. Didn't work. Anyhow it pushes the air up n over nice. If I had the stock seat, I'd get a 10 to see through and maybe a 9 to see over. Wind redirection is awesome. Remember this is the touring. Hehe. So it has the extra width. I may pull it off for the next 2 hot ass months here and put the short shield on that came with the fairing. Not sure how ill like that, but I just want a little more air on the 90 degree days that are coming. The quality is great.
@@dbest1aVlogs I was thinking about buying a fairing but I guess I won't now. Iv watch a lot of batwing fairing still having buffing issues. I don't want to pay all that money and still have this issue. That's why I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm 6'4 so if you're having issues I know I will. I have this little shield that clips on top of my shield. Works great! But to get rid of all the buffing I have put way up to where I'm looking through it . I guess that's just the way its going to be 🤦. I'm like you I take the shield off in these 90 plus days. But for long long days that were where you out as well. It's a no-win situation. Unless I upgrade to a Road Glide or a Challenger...😊👍
The Road glide fairing will slice through wind like a knife in hot butter. Never rode challenger so , I dunno. Same with the yamaha venture , not sure about eluder. My buffeting is minimal, and only on high wind highway days above 70. The reckless style fairing, is pretty good at keeping the wind from bellowing underneath and driving you nuts. I tell you what I bet for a half helmet rider it's maybe even better. I just prefer the security of a FF. I'm gonna try and put the short shield on tonight and plug in my new xm antenna. I just want a bit more air for the hot days. I do agree though the extra expense can be iffy. Your significantly taller than me, so you may need a much taller shield. Too tall and these things become sails.
No, nothing that is outstanding. The biggest difference I notice is with wind deflection. This design deflects more of the lower air away from the tank so I get less buffeting. Then in the later video, you will see I swapped the shield to a 11 " touring freedomshield which I absolutely love. The pushed the air just a bit further up, and around my shoulders. Creating a even smoother ride. Then I took off n sold the cobra exhaust and put the stock slip on on. Drilled the baffle closer to the motor, rear was done previously. Now everything is much quieter especially traveling at 70 mph for 20 min to an hour. Makes for a much more enjoyable ride. I will be filming a 42k review of the vstar 1300 deluxe long term soon. I actually need to start putting that video together.
Thank you for watching. Glad it could be some help. Hard to pass the actual sound through a helmet to a mic, and to a recorder then over youtube. hehe. Enjoy the holidays
Not when there is no wind coming from underneath. If you play what I was saying again in the beginning, the issue with air coming up under the tank is gone. I also say why due to the difference in fairing design. The reckless being the mold of the older elecrta glide fairing sits lower than the deluxe fairing which has a closer to the headlight design. That doesn't deflect the lower air like this fairing design does. My dirty air .. like I stated in video comes is coming from above , after 500+ miles, I've noticed my dirty air is above the shield. Even if I put fork lowers on. Which wouldn't fit, if you looked at the bike. You still would have the dirty air up top.
Bruce, order your self a nice windshield from www.longrideshields.com/ your fairing will fit Street Glide from 1996 - 2013 They have flared and various tints great stuff. And fit perfect on your fairing.
Yes. I try to keep reviews short, but sometimes it's better to make them a little long. This way I can cover questions that I feel people will have. That cuts down on the comments a little. I also have the playlist linked below which I tried to document the process from unboxing to paint, as best as I could. It was tough .. and sometimes I felt unnecessary, but when I sat down to edit.... I would think oh I need to explain n show this n this... n I had the footage. So it all helps. If you ever start to vlog ... you will see what I mean. It's hard to get do overs if you missed the shot. Ditto in photography

Time wise, I'm not sure .. maybe a month , depends on busy I am . Plus I was down 3 weeks with covid too. All depends on how fast you work also.
Anything is possible.
Good vid man
Thank u sir. See newer videos for shield change
Nice share!
Thanks for watching
why you parked in the road?
Ya done good B 👍 Too bad that edging is peeling off....
Thanks. There was some glue type stuff on it .. gonna put some back in it . Tben should be good.
How tall are you? And how is the 11inch shield? Still buffing?
@@carolinarider5237 see ny community post for the shield I swapped in for the summer months
did you ever find an amp to put in there?
No . I never looked for one yet.
What brand of fairing did u go with?
This is reckless.
See the reckless Playlist for more detail.
Link may be in description.
Do you feel any weight difference between the fairings? One heavy than the other?
Very useful
Thank you for watching. Glad it could be some help. Hard to pass the actual sound through a helmet to a mic, and to a recorder then over youtube. hehe. Enjoy the holidays
Memphis shades fork deflectors will clear up your buffeting.
Chillaxin
Lovvvvvvvvve it . I did swap the shield.
Bruce, order your self a nice windshield from www.longrideshields.com/ your fairing will fit Street Glide from 1996 - 2013 They have flared and various tints great stuff. And fit perfect on your fairing.
Thank you , will check that site out. Stay safe.
Lol making a video in the road
Yea it's a dead end . No traffic comes there. I've done a few videos here. Less issues
That was one long review yikes !
