    Super excited to see you’re getting into fishing it’s a great addition to your adventures!!! Just a tip tho when handling trout using a rag or anything rough can strip away their slime layer which makes them more susceptible to predation and less healthy if you’re trying to return the fish the proper handling method is to wet your hand before handling them. Keep up the great work, Love your videos!!!!

    Something I was wondering about, you know these coastal rivers better than most, and you seem pretty comfortable even though you have not been up/down them before. Are they all fairly deep, I see you moving along at a good clip and I was wondering about sand bars or shallows or is that not anything to worry about in those rivers???

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  2 года назад

      Haha! I love that question 😂😂😂 No, I wouldn't say they are all fairly deep. I really don't know honestly, I just run it out baby!
      But I don't really fret about sand bars in the skiff as it runs so shallow. My main worry is a log or stump in rivers and an oyster bed in the saltwaters

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  2 года назад +1

      Yes, I am liking the Simrad and don't have an issue with it. I just favor the Humminbird setup. Currently, I don't have a transducer and I figure if I'd spend the money and get a complete Humminbird instead of getting the transducer for the Simrad. Not exactly saving money, but Humminbird is a local company to me in South Alabama and I have family who work there so I want to support them.

    • @9571kent
      @9571kent 2 года назад

      @@TripSmith that makes sense. I'm in south Alabama too but I didnt know humminbird was local. And an lss2 transducer makes a world of difference! The only reason I prefer lowrance products is because of their structure map. I figured itd be a cool addition to upload your structure maps to your patreon.
