I find gnarly unmaintained rutted single track less than fun especially with lots of exposed rock or diagonal roots, nice to see you survived, but I do love multi track dirt or non technical single track. I prefer a multi-surface tire like Kenda 26-inch K831 Alpha Bite Tire as it is silent on roads but it has good off center and side knobblies when needed. Used ones can be acquired from the used or broken department store bikes but I have had them last thousands of kilometers on roads Even with your data loss, your videos were great, makes me want to GO!
I bet you wish you had a dollar for every time you both got the name "Inglewood" wrong :) But seriously I love how the local community offers help for cyclists on the BT700. And what a great ride over the two days. Take care. Jay
You guys did well. Congrats! By the way, you said that next year you would be more prepared. Of what would that preparation consist? I am curious of course since I should join you next year. Great video again. 🙂
Hello Jaque. To be honest looking back my set up was good and I had zero issues. For me the one change I would make is to get all my video recording gear out of my trunk bag and into one of my panniers as the weight was noticeable on the technical trail sections. Also I will be putting a suspension fork on my bike in preparation for the GDMBR next year so I will have that for the BT700. Unfortunately I'm having to much pain in my collarbones so the suspension fork is necessary. I hope you are doing well. Cheers
Enjoyed, thanks Dean
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it!
I went to high school in Shelburne - thanks for the trip down memory lane, even if it *has* changed some since the mid-80s.
Cheers
Hey that's awesome! Small world. Cheers
