Thank you for sharing Mr. Lee. Me and my family will go to KL next week and will definitely come to this place to try out the breakfast varieties. Thanks.!
Elmo, thank you very much for this video. I am new to ICC Pudu, when I am there, I am lost at what to eat, everything seems good, all done by locals. Have to go many times to try one by one, Elmo video helped me a lot. My usual must have is Sisters Popiah, fried nian gao and Ah Fook chee cheong fun, after taking all these, it is hard for me to find a space in my stomach. Whenever I leave ICC Pudu, I have mixed feeling, satisfied and frustrated, because do not have enough space in my stomach to try other food. As for the curry mee, my favourite is still Madras Lane 3rd stall.
@@malaysiafood328 Good suggestion. But tah pau food do not taste as good. I do tah pau fried nian gao, I can consume many pieces, it is so delicious. Queue is long and some waiting time. Sometimes, order first, come back later to collect.
Every Sunday we try out places you’ve recommended. After living abroad for so long, I am a tourist in own country. Your videos open up another culinary world for us! Thank you!
I'm a Malaysian in Canada. Elmo, your videos are amazing, nice food history followed by best spots. I'm originally from KL. Nicely done, keep it up. Mix of English and Chinese, nice. Thank you.
Came across your food video by chance. I really enjoyed watching all your videos at all the different places for food. Also fantastic that you also include a short history on the area. I never knew the background history of those places you mentioned. It is highly educational. I used to go to ICC for food when I was back for holidays and there is one store that you should try if you ever went there for food. I cant remmeber the name but they serve a fantastic `sarng har mein’. It is totally delicious and very cheap too. The prawns were humongous. This sang har mein beats the one at Imbi Rd any time. Not sure if the one at Imbi Rd is still around as I have left Malaysia since 1988.
Yes Leong the sang har mee chef used to work in ah yat gor abalone restaurant. In fact I did take some videos wanting to feature him unfortunately my camera was faulty at that pint in time
As far as porridge is concerned, there's a rather old and little known porridge stall at the begining of lrg brunei. They don't start till after half 6 or 7 nightly. An unforgettable speciality of theirs is the raw fish porridge and the non other half, the chicken porridge. I do know of their existence since the 40's.
@@malaysiafood328 . Great of you to reply. Location is behind the caltex station , closer to under the big tree. The stall is operating with one selling chinese Tong Sui. I do personally know them. Are you keen to go there with me. I can be contacted at 010 278 5461, name is michael. Kok.
Of course its lot 10 cos I was there every day for breakfast since I was working at the old regent that are probably too young to notice. In case u didn't know the market was occupying here until they moved to imbi
Just have only 1 comment I'd like to make here with regards to porridge . The best porridge is not within ICC but At Pudu dessert at the front end of jln Brunei . Am sure you LL never find one up to their level . The only problem is that they only open at 5 in the evening . Their porridge readily sold out by 830 at night. Their raw fish porridge is a must try it's out of this world . The owner is now at 65 year old and could be retiring soon . Once he's retired, that could be end of the story . Period. Sadly non of his son's are taking over the business though . do try it be4 the taste ceased to exist anymore . Another comment is the Chinese rojak just opposite corner of Pudu plaza ( just outside the coffee shop) . It's old school rojak . Gathered he's the end of his batch and had been at it for 40 over years . Same as the above, once they effectively retire, that LL be end of their taste era !
Thanks for the recommendations at ICC Pudu. I'm sure it won't disappoint. However, I've tried Jia Bao BKT at Damansara Uptown recently and sad to say it's horrible. No taste of the herbs at all, just pork cooked in black soya sauce. With the price, we can do much better at home. Won't be returning. Just my two cents regarding Jia Bao.
Foods are on par with average hawker stalls but the environment is horrible. Extremely hot inside, limited tables, stench at the entrance, 6 levels car parks served by 2 small lifts. It’s ridiculous to have a halal section where 100% of the visitors are non-Muslims.
