Love you too! But the comparisons of Lahore with Delhi are vastly exaggerated. Lahore has just one walled city, while Delhi has atleast 10 in recorded history spanning 1,400 years of its serving as an imperial federal capital. And Lahore's walled city resembles Delhi's 9th walled city (Chandni Chowk area built by Shahjahan in the 17th century). Delhi had 8 walled cities before that over the last 1,000 years of its history as a capital, serving Hindu Rajputs, Muslim Turks, Muslim Afghans and Muslim Mongols. After that, Delhi served as a capital of British India too. The vastness of Delhi's heritage totally dwarfs Lahore's. So, yes there is a slight amount of similarity limited to a very short period in history but Delhi's overall history comprehensively outweighs Lahore's. Also, Delhi's cultural significance is huge. It is the birthplace of Hindi and Urdu, and remained the hub of Urdu literature and poetry. It is also a Sufi hub with atleast 22 Sufi shrines, including very prominent ones. The second oldest Chishti silsila shrine (after Ajmer Shareef) is in Delhi. Then we have the very famous Nizamuddin Dargah too, and so on. Even in the Hindu epic Mahabharat, Delhi is mentioned as the capital city founded by the Paandav brothers. So, this city finds prominent mention in the Hindu legend also, being the capital city founded by the mighty Paandav brothers. This part of history, if proven will make the city 3,000 to 5,000 years old and therefore the oldest serving capital city in world history. Lots of respect for Lahore and its historical significance, but the comparisons with Delhi are fairly limited to a short era!

As a Man Who was both Born and brought up in Delhi but not living here anymore due to my Career. This is a very bittersweet feeling. I feel like my Home is Calling ❤️
You would say these row houses looks unremarkable, dirty, don't have any charm ete etc.. one might also think if there were high rise buildings and tall apartment complexes for residence then it might have been more beautiful.. but let me tell you no where in a big city like this magnitude one could sustainable an indipendent house like this.. we Indians love these houses they are much better then flats and multistorey appartments. the sense of ownership and a feeling of HOME these houses provide is unmatched and for which i think we are willing to loose some beauty points. 😂 PS:- don't ever think that they are slums.. they may be crowded but it will blow your mind how beautiful and cosy they are from inside.

You would say these row houses looks unremarkable, dirty, don't have any charm ete etc.. one might also think if there were high rise buildings and tall apartment complexes for residence then it might have been more beautiful.. but let me tell you no where in a big city like this magnitude one could sustainable an indipendent house like this.. we Indians love these houses they are much better then flats and multistorey appartments. the sense of ownership and a feeling of HOME these houses provide is unmatched and for which i think we are willing to loose some beauty points. 😂
PS:- don't ever think that they are slums.. they may be crowded but it will blow your mind how beautiful and cosy they are from inside.
