Fucking hell, so much youth and energy back then! What i wouldnt give to be older when this was going down! damn me only being 7 when this gig was played..
I was there in 95,it was raining than a nice sun and again rain, people had to replace their tents because of the rain. But that didn't spoil the atmosfeer.THE BEST CONCERT EVER DYNAMO OPEN AIR 95.
I, as fitting in the "new MH fans too young" category, have to agree. Halo was their first song I heard, The Blackening their first album, and for over a year I loved that album but never bothered getting the rest. This week I decided to check out their other works and HOLY SHIT The Blackening is a great album but their earlier works are so fucking brutal that I feel ashamed for not giving it a try before.
Please post the one where Bobby Hambel showed up and sang "Hard Times" (Cro-mags cover) with them! That's fab just like this; old Machine Head rules!!!
@Cerbeh yeah ive seen them about 5 times in the past 10 years and everytime they blew my mind. they have so much energy compared to any other band ive seen live and ive seen a lot.
isnt that the truth I remember when I first saw Robb and Logan in guitar world in 94 ran out and bought burn my eyes that day been a loyal fan ever since!
He is making a statement against 'kids', apparently saying that just because he is an 'older' fan of machine head, it makes his opinion more valid. Something which is common in the musical underground, and immature.
i would say black is just as heavy more tech even machine head seem to just get better the blackening to me is like an 80's album just brought up to date
sure, but at the end of the day you listen to what you like and shouldn't really argue about whether one song is heavier than the other. Doesn't necessarily make it amazing just cus it's heavy.
@hvymtlmom That's true! I've seen them in 2008 as a support for Metallica and though their sound was not as good as Metallica's MachineHead totally kicked their ass! They were like BOOM!
The guitarist (Logan Mader) has been a busy guy, producing albums from Five Finger Death Punch, Divine Heresy and others. The "blonde guy" is the bassist, Adam Duce who is still with the band. The guitarist for the past few years has been Phil Demmel who Robb played with in Vio-lence. Dave McClain is the drummer now.
@mave460 unto the locust? the blackening? HELL NO, only there first album and the 3 newest ones are the best, 2nd album is kinda good, but the 3rd and 4th album have couple of good songs
it may be more technical dude but its missing the awesome dark vibe, sound, energy and aggression that burn my eyes had which made it one of the greatest metal albums ever made...
1:57 is a contender for heaviest live moment in metal

I was there in 95,it was raining than a nice sun and again rain, people had to replace their tents because of the rain. But that didn't spoil the atmosfeer.THE BEST CONCERT EVER DYNAMO OPEN AIR 95.

0:12 Bottom left corner. Did I just see someone die?
the blackening is better technical and the vocals are way better too

Corpsegrinder: Am I a joke to you?

The guitarist kinda looks like dimebag.

Headbanging without long hair looks weird :D
but the Blackening is heavy, maybe not as heavy as BME but it still kicks ass. Supercharger is the one that really blows imo.
sure, but at the end of the day you listen to what you like and shouldn't really argue about whether one song is heavier than the other. Doesn't necessarily make it amazing just cus it's heavy.

I agree with Ghotifisch. I like the older MH better. More heavier and great riffs. Whatever.............MACHINE HEAD RUULLLEEZZ!!!!

@mave460 unto the locust? the blackening? HELL NO, only there first album and the 3 newest ones are the best, 2nd album is kinda good, but the 3rd and 4th album have couple of good songs

they work better with Phil anyway, and Phil is great for the band. ..
who cares if Logan has badass tattoos. ..

no shit
it may be more technical dude but its missing the awesome dark vibe, sound, energy and aggression that burn my eyes had which made it one of the greatest metal albums ever made...
Chris is leagues, better than Dave.
Dude got fired because he missed too many shows for bullshit reasons (supposedly bullshit reasons, I should say).
I reallly like this song, but I find the video itself a little funny
