- Just playing one of the best games ever made, on one of the best maps/levels ever made... and obliterating over a hundred bots in 10 minutes while I'm at it.
I highly recommend this game to everyone, even if just to check what a true PC focused FPS plays like. You don't see this kind of stuff in todays Call of Duty/Battlefields/Titanfalls...

This still remains my most favorite game of all time that I've played and likely will stay that way at this point considering where the gaming industry is and is going. This game has stood the test of time and is still just SO much fun to play.
i found this game in a charity shop for 50p like 4 -5 years ago one of my favourite games i have ever played too this game offline with bots in 2023 is more fun than the most modern games
Amazing nostalgia. I can remember every map based on its music. Every intense moment like when i got my first Ultra kill, or wicked sick. Just. A peak i will never revisit in the life of gaming.

I just updated after 6 months without playing, it's slower than ever
sluggish movement, tiny jumps, slowed down fire rates.
It's not the game it was and it's nothing like the insane masterpiece that UT2004 was
So good. Still worth playing, too! Just replayed it recently myself and it still holds up after all this time. One of the best UT games ever IMO. Those bombing run maps are unforgettable!

Despite the game being over 15 yrs old, I am playing it. Yes, I am a retired Unreal Tournament player. Until now, I decided to complete the game, 3 times on different difficulties. However, due to lack of adrenaline, I had to take baby steps. Now, 2 times completed the game.
One more to go, and I can finally retire playing Unreal Tournament 2004.
Why? Because I had sooo much playing this game.

i played all Unreal Tournamentgames but most played by me was UT2004 (ut2) cus it really is 1 of my favorite games to this day :3 i still play it but it isnt fun alone..

Amazing game. It has so much potential for skill development whilst still remaining fun for the noob. Watching this is just amazing compared to e.g. Call of Duty.

The dashing in UT2004 is so much better than the new one that's about to come out, too slow and not enough height

Ahhhhhhhh the memories...
Of course the person playing it isn't particularly skilled by reasonable (competitive) standards, but do we really want to discourage players away from an already dead game? Anyone still playing it nowadays is clearly just having a bit of fun.
The music is incredibly nostalgic though, I literally can't remember how long it's been since I heard the music in this game since I disabled it so long ago. As I recall, I was quite fond of the music on AS-Junkyard and ONS-ArcticStronghold. Never really heard any DM maps music, lol.
What's weird though is it looks as though there is less gravity than usual. I know UT2k4 has pretty floaty movement, but even so. Maybe some sort of quasi low grav mutator? Or maybe the view bob makes it look different. Just looks weird is all.

these days they make games for entertainment for little kids and its not as good as back like 10 years ago when they tried to actually make games like this.
It kinda makes me a little disappointed when I think that Quake and UT used to be mainstream games back in the day. Nowadays all we have for arena/deathmatch FPS are the UT4 Prealpha and Quake Live, kickstarters and/or indie projects, and the remnants of all the games we used to play. Imagine if a UT or a Quake made it as big as the CoD games are nowadays? That level of activity might even convince me to compete again a little bit.

@@NerdBlake7 The ai is still fucking dumb. Upping the accuracy and giving bots downright cheating dodge capabilities doesn't make for a better challenge

Could well be using a lowerd gamespeed, then playing the video faster. Even using a 70% gamespeed would tremendously increase your performance.
