One attention to detail I've always appreciated with this game is that instead of completely omitting the twin towers they actually included them in the 1978 era & When you switch to the 2006 era the area where the towers stood is a construction site. It adds some realism to the game.
DPL was step in right direction everything was more polished only thing like you mention that is a shame is lacking of film director and quick replay but with DPLHook you can make some cinematic things but they could done more with it. overall is so far the best one light 8/10
NGL the story of Driver Parallel Lines is more depressing than GTA IV. TK went through so much and the emptiness and loneliness that the player feels after completing the story is a genius choice the developers have made.
Agreed. When TK had the chance to pull the trigger on Corrigan, he didn't do it. I guess he was still satisfied as he handed Corrigan to the woman who wanted to avenge her father. ;)
I remember going to a video game store as a kid and finding out that my favorite game (Driv3r) at the time had a sequel. This game immediately became my new favorite game that night.
The 70s part were indeed the best, the soundtrack containing Funkadelic, War and Roy Ayers hits hard when you're driving. The game is nothing spetacular, but fun enough.
Slightly underrated game. Still mediocre however, and it just isn't as good as your average GTA game. Shame really, always liked the Driver games and had high hopes for this game back in 2006 when I received it as a gift for my PS2. I wasn't disappointed, just underwhelmed. Still, the game has many enjoyable things - unique era change, great soundtrack, fun driving, overall a decent game.
I appreciate the spoiler warning.. but it would be great if you could either 1) make videos without the spoilers, or 2) denote the spoiler free sections in the time stamps. I love your review style, and it sucks I can’t watch some of your vids because of this :(
@@dirty-moto I didnt even know this game existed until I saw this video, lol. I just knew about Driver 1,2,and SF which im playing now. Also, not everyone has played every game ever released since 2006 ;)
I am wishing to get this after finding out what made GTA games since 3 the way they are BUT I'd like to get this game for less than $10 on steam (unless Ubisoft doesn't deserve money for this i'll then resort to downloading someone's PC Cd rom rip
I prefer this over San Francisco any day. I don't care if San Francisco had real life license car! The Story in San Francisco is boring compared to this.

True Crime New York did that too.

Thanks for a excellent & fair review of my favorite game in the series! Very enjoyable my friend!

I had no idea this game was on Steam
Are you going to review Driver 76 and Driver: Renegade too? I really enjoyed your review on this franchise.
Played it for the first time a year ago. Really enjoyed it, especially switching between the two eras. Definitely loved playing the 70s era more.
This was one of my teenage years game, have some really fond memories playing It with my cousin
I’ve never heard of this game until maybe a couple years ago.
The City is absolutely huge, but man... Its just so dull, completly empty
It's big, but if you want bigger try True Crime New York. Broken game though but massive.

I dream this would get a remake
This game is the definition of 6/10, okay but not great
Are you going to do Driver 76?
Your "friends over at gamecast" haven't made a video in 3 years. Time for a new outro.

You've had plenty of time since 2006 to play it before watching a review, yknow. :P

Back when Ubisoft allowed you to own a game you bought with your own money
I think this is the game Mafia 2 got the idea for the Era Switch
Come on, we all want to hear the game's soundtrack.
the driving is more confortable on the wii version

I want a new driver game
Is Driver 76 Better than Parallel Lines ?
not really about 76 being better than DPL but if you want to play it then go ahead
