    Not understanding why people mad about the rubberband comment. I agree. If I’m paying a professional to do my braids ($150 for my braiding girl plus the tip cause she does amazing) they better not but rubberbands in my head. I pay you enough so you need to know how to grip. I’m gonna start doing my own braids and keeping them in for only about 4 weeks and I don’t even have to use the bands.

    • @moolabear
      @moolabear 6 лет назад +23

      Your point is understandable, but as a braider myself I think it's important to know how to properly use both methods. The rubber band method allows for free movement of each braid in any direction without pulling. It all comes down to the client's preference. I wouldn't mind paying the price if the braids came out neat and if the parts were clean and defined, rubber bands or not. But that's just me.

      Gemini Peterson it’s cause most people use the jam or the persons hair is braided extremely tight or their hair is thin

  • @Unconventional24
    @Unconventional24 5 лет назад +3

    Exactly! Totally unprofessional. Then they have all that breakage after. Then its like doing the hair twice. Once to put the bands and another to actually braid. God bless you!! Real professional.

    • @joneya7593
      @joneya7593 5 лет назад

      Deja Edwards I’m not a professional braider but I do braid my own hair. Braiding without the rubber band was easier for me because I somehow could not cover the band. I would not use the rubber band method if you plan to have your braids in for awhile.

    • @geminipeterson2242
      @geminipeterson2242 6 лет назад +10

      Lawanda Harrilson Use your fingers as a guide. figure out what size you want your braids, then grab a section of hair. Every section you grab after that , compare it to the first section. Use your fingers, grab a section of hair as thick as your middle finger and ever piece you grab after that lay it on top of your middle finger. Hope that makes since.

    ok I struggle when I get someone in my chair who want large box braids but don't want them long....so I have to cut the hair, and once it's cut it's kinda hard to braid it down without it being blunt. I do spread the hair but it's not the same...it's still blunt and I spend a lot of time trying to thin the ends....also I Iove doing tiny braids so when doing the larger box briads my mind wont let me make them large so some are large and some are medium....so then I'll notice and have to take it out and redo it. I know hot mess right....so how many briads would you say one pack would be?
