Nice! You've made me so happy about my 2am AliExpress impulse buy, can't wait to drive it. I ordered the 284131 teeny infraction before any reviews were up and got the same warm fuzzies when you uploaded your video as it crossed the Pacific ocean to me.
That's an impressive little car. When the person driving is laughing it's usually a good sign. I expected it to be pulling wheelies constantly, but it handled well. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool! This one and that one with the spare wheel in the rear that you took to the beach are my two favorite small scale LC Racing clones. Super stable at speed.
Great video Phil, you were having a genuine blast with that speed demon! Our rc club had over 40 of the brushless Edit: I meant "Brushed* not brushless" wltoys buggies that we all used to have Sunday carpet races. They are fun especially because they were all stock. Lots of racing banter which made it really entertaining. They are perfect for club carpet races as rentals.
I've never understood why tracks don't start a stock division for some of these cheap cars and get people dipping their toes into racing without having to drop so much money.
Brilliant as always, I noticed the camera work getting better and better over the past months, great job Phil, keep up the informative and fun entertainment. John
Wow… hat off for wltoys, how they improve and evolves through the products… many people give up for the 1/18 to put them into racing… i do my self with my a979b with heavy mod to make it proper to race. Off course there are still minus points especially for the material… but that’s what keep the price is really affordable especially for entry level, imho Thanks Phil for the review video 👍
I was real tempted to buy this car and I still might later on. But I'm about to do a A959 custom build. Just ordered a silver all metal body. I'll show it here when I get finished. Wait till you see my surprise, rare body shell I found for it. Thing is going to be sharp. Only reason I'm not going with mad max right now is in not finding hardly any parts, no upgraded parts and how fast it goes just seems like it really needs upgraded parts or your going to stay broke down. I'm going to try and make my A959 do 80 mph with the performance parts, bigger battery and wheels I should be real close to it
Good review . They seem to be raising the prices on these "budget" RCs almost daily now . Luckily , I was able to get some fantastic deals on some of these vehicles , before prices started to rise . Better to stick with "name brand "now is some cases though .
Tacon rc, WLToys (hobby grade stuff) and LC Racing are built on the same platform, it would be interesting to know who designed this stuff as well as witch Chinese company manufacturers it. I have numerous Tacon rc cars and have ordered from LC racing and WLToys suppliers for parts. They are by far the best bang for the buck. Tacon Pursuer (1/10 on road car) added foam tires, 4s-ESC, 4s battery, stock motor, 78 mph. I highly recommend any of these cars just not the very cheapest versions. 👍👍👍
RC cars have actually gotten cheaper if you consider inflation. There were many brushed rc buggies that would have equaled about £500 these days and they were kits. Now days you can get a good brushless rtr for way cheaper
Wow..43 mph on stock 2s is nuts..actually since you can adjust the throttle way down using radio it can be a very controlable car on any surface..wltoys nailed it imo..
When I had covid I snagged a 144001 off amazon for $90 CDN that thing is loads of fun....it does rip stock right out of the box. They've all gone up by $60 cdn now.....
My biggest QUESTION with this car is, where are the replacement parts? What happens if I break a swing-arm or shock tower and don't want to put aftermarket aluminum ones on? I even tried the WLTOYS website and despite listings for dozens of cars they do not list the 184016. They do list an 184012 but it's far different from this one. I've searched everywhere. Any suggestions?
Will most or all of the parts from the older A959 work with this car? I have a A959 That is broken and has some upgraded parts like shocks, rims and tires. Will they fit on this?
It's a really cool buggy. It looks fun but I wonder how many more times wltoys plans to resize the 124017 V2. It seems to be the same motor and gearing as that and the 144010. The 144010 is my favorite so far. It handled really well.
For me, an off road buggy not being able to handle off road driving is not of interest. However, it is quite a fast little thing. Great video yet again Phil!
Really enjoying this little terror, just put oil in the shocks after watching this and it's even better. Thanks mate really enjoy watching you. Perth, western Australia.
Knock knock, just watched a tube about coging. But it was from Bali and had no way of translating. He used a programe card to set the motor to strong, then reversed the polarity of the motor and dimanteled the controler to swap trigger pos and neg to correct throttle action. It seemed to be the best response I have seen. Could you posibly try this out and post - mine is in the mail and will be my first car. Cheers
I wonder what this would be like on appropriate paddles, on a beach..... Because its so small could you pond skip it ?? Will it float on monster truck tyres ??
For the price, Id stick with the 144010, same thing but slightly bigger. This new one is a awesome replacement for the a959 though if they can get the price down.
I got the wltoys a959b with a modified 8 turn 540 motor, and a fan cooled 380 amp esc aluminum turn bulkles and a fan cooled on the motor, don't know how fast it is but it's scary it's not normal anymore
Hi there Phil, a great looking and performing WLToys buggy, looks insanely fast, but some element of control, seems to have been engineered in. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁
It is a buggy that shows great performance for its size. The exchange rate is so high these days that it is difficult to buy. I guess I'll have to wait a while before buying it.😁😁😁
I have a question. Is there any brand you recommend outside of Traxxis? I've heard so many but it's overwhelming as I've just dipped my toe into the hobby.
So I have to ask cause I lost one, does anyone know where I can get a new wltoys 184016 front dogbone drive shaft. I am not able to find one out on ebay or a listing on wltoys. if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
I might have to get a couple for me and the kid we have some bigger rc vehicles but these we can throw in a. Backpack and take with us purdy much anywhere
It's like 121 quid cost more than a brushless 144 witch I don't get :s ....I know it's the 35amp verison but I brought that ESC for 2.39 from Amazon start this year..I don't get why it cost so much more when the combo they use is so cheap

40! That’s mad haha
That sounds like a good laugh 👍🏼 Less competitive than usual and more fun.

Don`t think I`ve ever seen a car roll that many times and not have anything break on it, very impressive (:
I hope they do a 979 version as well I loved that truck ❤
Brilliant little buggy, Phil! 😃
Fantastic bashing and review!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks mate. It was really good fun!

Definitely surprised at the straight line stability considering the size!

That's a proper little pocket rocket. Very nice looking thing. 👍🏻
Yeah, surprised me how stable it was at full throttle!
0830 on this brisk Arkansas USA morning! Thanks for the vid Tomley!!! I've been eye balling this one!!
Good Morning James. Hope you have a good day 👌

Very nice. I say it often, but it realy is amazing what you can get now compared to back in the day.
Yeah, imagine getting a buggy that did over 40 out the box back in the day!

Can you tell which one to choose and why.. this 184016 or the new 124007? Bigger or smaller ang whats the benefit of having 1:12 vs 1:18

Yeah, there was some really good prices a while back. Shame everything has gone up 😕
That thing is furious mad 😁 a lot of punch
Yes haha
one of the best wltoys have ever made i think. great video m8
oo separate receiver? so I could remove it and plug in a receiver from one of my programmable tx's?
I think all the brushed WLToys are getting much too hot, but they are great anyway!!
Great video!!
Yeah, the brushed do run a little hot
a959 tires did not have foams, do those ones here? seeing they changed hex to 12mil they maybe added foams too
It can certainly put up with the rough and tumble Phil, what a little pocket rocket.
great video! would have been good to see a comparison with the 144010 (Brushless)
Always good content mate that why I watch you and legends rc channel you guys do great work ...keep up the content mate love it
Thanks mate.. really appreciate the support 👌
I cant get mince to reverse, is this how it is meant to be or did it come out of the box broken in some way?
Since they forgot oil in shocks.. what about the drive.. did they grease them??
Will have to keep a eye out for one of these. Then convert it to a rally car.
My biggest QUESTION with this car is, where are the replacement parts? What happens if I break a swing-arm or shock tower and don't want to put aftermarket aluminum ones on?

very tempting that one looks bud 👍
How to you keep the shock towers and shocks good when they stick out like that?
Will most or all of the parts from the older A959 work with this car? I have a A959 That is broken and has some upgraded parts like shocks, rims and tires. Will they fit on this?
Looks like wltoys have nailed it with this little beast.great stuff as always Phil👍
It was so fun to drive haha

1/18th scale cars rarely do well in the rough. Go 1/10 or 1/12 for that. I miss my old 1/10th scale Kyosho Ultima.
@@AirDOGGeI had the Turbo Ultima. It was an absolute dream to race that thing. Wish I still had it.
Really enjoying this little terror, just put oil in the shocks after watching this and it's even better. Thanks mate really enjoy watching you.

Just ordered mine using your discount code.. about £114.. what a lot of car for not a lot of money.. thanks Phill for another great review.

Looks like A lot of fun.
It's on my list. Awesome r.c. (mad max) nice review tomley
Cheers Mark 👌
your pavement looks so funny!! in the US the gravel is so much smaller and smother. is that how all your roads are in the uk?
Nice review as usual. You didn't seem to have cogging issues that other have. I just watched Discipline RC make 91km/h on 3s! Sheeeeesh.
Great content as usual, Phil. What do you use to edit your videos? Cheers
Hi Phil love your vids.does this model have the same internals esc motor etc as the 144010.regards leon

Looks awesome
It certainly surprised me!
Looks like a lot of fun 👍
It was 👌😎
WLToys been changing the game slowly getting better
not bad i like the way it performed.
oh man I hope they make a short course truck version!!!
Yes! 👌
It's Blinking in and out of existence on your speed run, the further away it got. Frame Rate?
Might be your connection or screen. It’s all good on the Raw video 👌

It's a good thing maker fire is selling it. it is ridiculously priced on Ali x Great review
Yeah, I saw the price on the official WLToys store!
Is there VAT and customs to add on the makerfire price?
haha actually bought it and discount code worked.... needed something small to bash around during my vacation :)
Nice 🤘
What weight oil did you use?
What 3S battery would fit this please?
And I thought you was going say your favorite was that Traxxas spirit.. hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I kinda want one. Looks like a fun little ripper
Certainly put a smile on my face 😁
Will 144001 shocks fit this tomley ? Great Video mate best RC channel on YT
Hi Phil, is this the same wheelbase as the A959 or is it a totally different car?
Do these have the same motor as the 144010? Thanks!
I got the wltoys a959b with a modified 8 turn 540 motor, and a fan cooled 380 amp esc aluminum turn bulkles and a fan cooled on the motor, don't know how fast it is but it's scary it's not normal anymore
Looks like everything I liked about the v2 of the 124016 once they did it properly The v1 kept people away from a great car there.
What would u say is the best drift truck for around 100 pound ?????
No many about for that price mate. The FTX Banzai but it’s not a dedicated drift truck
Think im gonnatry some off the udi cars look fun
Awesome video that buggy might be the buggy I’m gonna get for my collection I’m missing a buggy also it’s shocks look like the sg shocks
Hi there Phil, a great looking and performing WLToys buggy, looks insanely fast, but some element of control, seems to have been engineered in. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁
Does it suffer with throttle delay like all the others ?
Yeah I'm gonna have to put in an order fosho

Yes, fit easily in to a bag 👌
I have a question. Is there any brand you recommend outside of Traxxis? I've heard so many but it's overwhelming as I've just dipped my toe into the hobby.
Hey, what's the part number for this new car?
Whoever came up with the paint job needs to be slapped. Besides that looks like a cool 1/18 and the price is t too bad considering it's brushless
Is this one better than 144010? What is the difference amigo???
Looks good! Has this one avoided the delayed throttle issue that the 144010 had?
None that I noticed. It does cog a little if you lightly touch the throttle. But again, nothing that effected the drivability 👌
That's the first one I've seen without oil in the shocks , it must of been a Monday morning or Friday afternoon build.
Hopefully it’s not a common issue!
i finally see a WL that i want. nice video
Epic video again brother 😎
