The dog we had when I was a kid could hear my dad's engine from about quarter of a mile off (we lived in a suburb not the countryside and there was an A road reasonably close). It wasn't a time of day / routine thing as dad arrived home at different times after having been away for 1 to 10 days. It was well before mobile phones so no tell tell signs that his arrival was imminent as we weren't exactly sure what time he'd get home. Rusty would start singing the song of his people a good 3 or 4 minutes before he pulled up.
We could hear the mail truck a block away because of its squeaky brakes, but the odder thing was that both my BCs Gem and Tess knew I was on the public transit bus-MARTA-before I even got off the bus in my old neighbourhood-and in my new one too. My mother commented that Gem and Tess (Gem died before Tess was even born in '92 so they didn't know each other here) would go to the door and await my footsteps 10-15 min. before the bus stopped at my street. She said Tess did the same here where I live now. My sister who loves upstairs now says she could hear Tess barking at my door when the CCT bus stopped at my street too. She didn't pay any attention to anyone else getting off the buses.
I think Key got suspicious when Jodie brought out the camera. 📷

Can't get enough of Key's anticipation and excitement for Sherpa ❤️ He has become too smart for surprise visits from his BFFs. Loved his 'super listens' pose and constantly checking Jodie's actions. Key, you are super smart!

My chow-chow mix guy ALWAYS knew when I was coming home - in advance, even if the others in the household didn't. (They commented on this many times.) We have psychic & spiritual connections with our fur-babies. We just have to be OPEN to that knowing, and THEM, too. Cheers, Key, Sherpa, & their Hue-mans. (Ps, "biscuit lady" is the best! 🙌, and my guy would agree. ☺ - well, until the biscuits run out - though, Grammas/ Grampas are almost ALWAYS favs... 😀).
Unbelievable! Key and Sherpa are so dialed-in to each other that Key's intuition told him that, despite all other evidence, his best buddy was en route. I love both of those guys! They make such a great duo!

Buddhists, Pagans, intuitives/mediums and anyone who meditates don't find it surprising that sentient beings know when loved ones are en route. And being Key's mum, you know it's a real thing. Thanks for documenting and sharing it. And I absolutely agree with the others below: Key's love is powerful medicine. He's such a blessing.
