I keep wondering if Nicodemus’ wife will cause him some problems. She was more concerned about “what would people think” and her social status than her faith.
Nicodemus' wife is still so elegant and beautiful despite her age and Janis D. plays her role fantastically. A brilliant choice by the Jenkins. The same goes for the actor who plays Nicodemus. I can't wait to see them both again. Even though season 1 technically had less to offer than the following seasons due to financial obstacles, this season is still one of my favorites.

Nicodemus is toward the crucifixion; He would be watching while is Jesus carrying the cross toward the crucifixion. 😊

The scenes between Erik Avari and Jonathan Roumie in season 1 are among the finest in the whole series. Could Dallas be coy here because he has hired another actor to replace Erik? I hope not!

Been a huge fan of Erick Avari since Stargate and Janis Dardaris since The Sixth Sense. They are just so elegant in their roles here in The Chosen. Zohara is so proud of her husband Nicodemus for his achievements in the Jewish hierarchy and Nicodemus wishes he was a younger man when Jesus asks him to be a disciple. Erick’s display of angst when turning Jesus down hit me right in the gut.
Shmuel is not Saul/ Paul, he was born in Capernaum Paul was born in Tarsus. Paul was a Roman Citizen. Shmuel is not. Paul was a student of Gamaliel. Shmuel is a student of Nicodemus. Very big differences. Dallas while taking some creative liberties is not going to change and altar scripture, which is what he’d be doing in this instance. I know you want Shmuel to be Paul, but it’s very unlikely Dallas will go this route. Like many people I believe Shmuel is the one that pays Judas.
There are several things in the Chosen that frustrate a Bible reader/student of the Bible. Esp the timelines of David’s roles
They have adequately set that up already (that Shmuel pays Judas)!

Glad to see that Nicodemus had a safe return from his trip and healed from his sickness. 😉 Glad to have Erick back! I love the depth and beauty that he brings to Nicodemus's character. I cam't wait to see him get excited to see Jesus again...err...well, hopefully he gets to see Jesus again before the Garden.
Also, seeing Shmuel turn so strongly against Jesus is heart breaking. His anger comes from offense and confusion and pain. It's like watching a teenager think they're making good decisions for themselves, but the reality is they're destroying their life. I really hope he comes back around by the end (I believe he will). Shaan does an excellent job playing the nuances of that character and the writers have written him to have such a beautifully tragic arc.
I'm both dreading and excitedly anticipating Season 5.

I thought that as well. Interestingly, that was our second reading in Church today-2 Cor 12: 7-10- where Paul writes of the thorn in his flesh. Not totally sold on him being Saul yet, but it’s possible.

I’m not sold on it either. It makes a great back story for Saul’s fury right at the beginning of the church but I don’t recall any passages hinting of him knowing Jesus or the disciples before the crucifixion.

Hi, everyone! I commented this right before the livestream ended, but I feel as if God is calling me to something huge maybe within the next few years or so possibly. I've struggled with lust and addiction on and off since I was 14 years old. Long story short, God has given me supernatural courage to talk about this subject on social media for almost 10 years now. I think there's a reason for that because I think He is potentially leading me towards opening a non-profit/recovery center for people struggling with it and/or just people who need resources and education about it. It'll kind of be like a Pregnancy Resource Center but for those specific issues. So, yeah, I would love it if I could have as many prayer warriors as possible lifting this up because there are zero non-profits in this whole country dedicated to recovery and not just information/education. Thanks, everyone, and I am still struggling with said addiction, but God is freeing me daily. It's incredible that He's most likely calling me to this type of ministry. He's so awesome, fam!

Shmuel cannot and above all SHOULD not be Saul.
1) because the person here is called "Shmuel". Saul was not a liar and did not deceive anyone with his identity, even when he was still an opponent of Jesus' followers; 2) because Shmuel once told Yanni that he came from Copernaum (Saul was from Tarsus); 3) it would not even be plausible because Saul would have 100% mentioned it in his epistles if he had met Jesus personally before the incident at Damascus; 4) there were many Pharisees who wanted to see Jesus dead, not just Saul, 5) Saul was a tent maker by profession, a man who could do physical work, a craftsman, he was not a head-heavy type like Shmuel (Saul was a law-abiding Pharisee, but he did not dress as one 24/7, if at all. Nor was he part of the Sanhedrin, as far as I know).
I hope the chosen do not pull such an outlandish trick because it would seriously affect their credibility. I hope and pray that you're wrong about that idea. But maybe Dallas asked you to send your listeners/viewers on the wrong track. You and other RUclipsrs who indirectly promotes the show by discussing the Seasons are more or less in contact with him. 😉🤔

I saw an interview couple years ago and it was talked about that he had a very difficult time shooting the first two seasons has had some serious back issues and had to do as little standing as possible during shoots.
I noticed watching your live stream that the rug underneath the table where Nicodemus‘s wife is standing is the same as rug under the table where the watcher was sitting
I really enjoyed this breakdown. Can’t wait. I’m obsessed with “Who’s the Watcher?”. Now do you see the Watcher in finer clothes could he be Luke the Evangelist? Only thing is I’m not sure he directly witnessed Christ’s ministry although they could have been contemporaries. A physician would have fine, expensive clothing. 😮

Yes, that's what Brandon is saying, and yes, Shmuel was the one who was greatly offended when Mary anointed Jesus. As to why he thinks Shmuel could become Saul, you'd have to ask Brandon.
I dont think hes Saul, I think he’ll be the one who gives Judas the coins. Seeing as he asked Judas if then can speak again.
What if Erick Avari will not or cannot act in S5, and as someone in S4 said Nicodemus is away, this season Nicodemus' wife is filmed in S5 explaining where Nicodemus is.....

If he is returning, it's probably not going to be Erik Avari, unfortunately. He came out of retirement for season 1, and since there's been no appearance of him since then, I think he might've turned down the opportunity to come back. My best guess is that they'll replace him with another actor.

Of course, Nicodemus will return! It is both Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea (Yussif) who take down Jesus' body from the Cross after He dies. At least that's the case in Scripture. I'm not sure if Dallas will create that scene or not...🤷♀
