The Day of Ashura, also known as Ashura, is an important day in the Islamic calendar. It falls on the 10th day of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Ashura marks different events for different Islamic traditions. For Sunni Muslims, it commemorates the day when Prophet Musa (Moses) and the Israelites were saved from Pharaoh's tyranny by crossing the Red Sea. For Shia Muslims, it marks the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE
