I just got FS19 and was confused about sugarcane, and this really helped to sort everything out (without wasting money on useless items). So, thank you for making this video.
I have spent a short time in Australia, when I was there I helped the farmer during Harvest and instead of cutting the tops they just light the crop on fire. It saves time and money that way they don't have to cut the leaves off and saves space for more yield when they harvest.
Been watching a few videos of yours lately. Got back into farming again. I've got alot of hours in game but always fun to watch and pick up tips here and there still. Figured you might be a cop. Thanks for your service and stay safe!
I learned with trailers is look at the front hitch, the ones that work with the hook up, all have the same hitch. So, if anyone wants to look for mods trailers, just find the same front hitch as the in game trailers that do work
Exactly what I came to say. The trailer he points out at 18:00 that doesn't work has a ball hitch, while the smaller ones (and the sugarcane technology trailers) use a vertical pin hitch. Keeping track of hitch compatibility in this game can be irritating, haha
@@umkm2k I wish they just listed the hitch types in the info below the vehicles when you're looking at the list, so you didn't have to go into details, pan around, and zoom in for every single thing.
I been doing sugarbeet cause it pays pretty good with 2 harvesters and 2 trucks and trailers. There just isn't time for doing anything else when I'm harvesting it. Gonna see about sugarcane next. Thanks for the video and thanks for your service officer
I gotta say, I rely on your wisdom a lot to help me with this game that basically has no way of letting you know how the game works. It is an addicting game. I'm playing on PS4, but I can definitely see the many advantages of playing on PC. I've yet to invest in a decent one yet, but I hope to so I can play FS19 on PC. Thank you for all of your help!
Hello, I have been enjoying many of your videos, very informative. The only thing I would add to increase the enjoyment of the video would be to show us a 20 sec clip of the machines you are using actually out in the field. I hope to see more from you in the future with the upcoming FS 22 release.
Hi my is Brian I live in Barbados we have a Sugarcane harvester, which I think would be great to use, may be the producers of Farming simulator have never seen it.
I definitely think sugarcane at some point needs more equipment and some revamping from GIANTS (the company that makes Farming Simulator) so hopefully we will get a sugarcane DLC of some kind some day
Thx for this video. Im pretty new to the game on ps4. Maybe 3 months now. Im hooked on the game, and your channel😄😄 So clear and well explained. Thx again.
Just one thing I'll mention is that in FS17 sugar cane was added in but it was only available as a DLC, but in FS19 we have cotton as the newest crop aswell as sugar cane in the vanilla game (no DLC) Also thanks for the info I've never done sugar cane in either game but wanted to know how it works. Thanks for your service also.
So I tried the whole sugarcane thing. Yeah, I'm good. Requires way too much involvement. I operate using as many workers as my system will allow (which I believe is 5?) I try my best to run my farm at full capacity, as efficiently as possible, at all times. If you get the chance to do coffee beans tho, do that. It does take I believe 4 in game days to be ready for harvest, but the yield is insanely high and the prices are superb. So if you have 3 or 4 fields, do at least one with coffee, then the others with whatever you need. Those others, plus contracts, should keep you busy until the coffee is ready. But be prepared to be unloading the harvester often, cuz like I said, the yield is insane.
I tried doing sugarcane, but my sanity disappeared after how long it takes to clear a large field and how many trailers iv traveled back and forth to sell being in the hundreds. Thank you for the video though it did help me with that trailer attachment problem.
@@Bofuso yeah but it beets sugarcane cause your trailers don’t fill up as fast, but those high yield crops you gotta look out for and not build too big of a field
Great video. I was watching sugar cane harvesting in Australia and yes the trailers are very small 🤷♂️. They also burn it to make it sweeter. Might be a cool addition in fs.
Try a Krampe KS950 (48000L) trailer on the fleigal dolly available from the mod hub in game works a treat with the case harvester. I run two trailers and swap them out as I harvest the cane. Its easy enough and quite quick.
It is not the fisrt time i whacth one of your video and like always i learn something. So you got a new fallowers on your chanel ;) From french canadian
I'm glad I watched this before planting! I didn't know it grows back on its own, so I would have plowed, cultivated, and seeded every time. As high of a volume as that is, I wish you could turn it into silage! Do you know of any mods to convert sugar cane to chaff?
Can you use the subsoiler that fertilises and then the planter that fertilises and it counts as 2, or do you have to fertilise after the first grow stage?
Okay so for who still cares and is interrested i have big upgrade for PS4, use a 48000L Fliegl truck trailer with a modded dolly, don't remember the name atm! But this will fix the collision issue with the big tracked harvester. And work like a sunshine with a hired worker!!!
Just started looking into sugarcane and planted some strips of crop to see different yields. Has the trailer issues been resolved or has anything been updated?
Have you tried sugarcane on No Man's Land with the Seasons mod active? I tried and ran into an issue with the sugarcane not sprouting even after a full season year. I have 100% Fertilizer state and the growth state still hasn't gone beyond the first light green stage on the map. I have random spots that show harvested throughout the field. I plowed and cultivated the field before spreading lime and spraying Fertilizer on the field then I sprayed Herbicide on the field.
Hooking up trailers to the 8800 doesn't really work in the game because in real life that's not how we do it. We use specialised tractors called 'haulouts' which take the cane from the harvester to another truck or a rail bin to be taken for crushing.
Depends on the map, sometimes it will be sold at common sell pionts, other times it is sold at root crop sell points, and some maps do not have sell points for it. The AGRAZ land trade mod is one mod that does have a sell point for sugracane that can be added in on any map. Hope that helps :)

When you compared the profitability per area, did you take into account the longer growth time of sugarcane? Or just one harvest of each crop?
One harvest of each crop, though keep in mind sugarcane regrows like grass :)

Is it meant to say harvested after you plant it
No it should say planted
Eureka farms map great on sugarcane. In game mods for sugarcane 500,000 liters high
17:25 “in CASE” haha
The only thing that stops me from doing sugarcane/potatoes/sugarbeets is that the working width on the machines that harvest them is so tiny, and you have to make a million trips to the sale point, and you still barely make more than crops that aren't anywhere near as labor intensive. Might be worth a second look if Sugarcane is as profitable as you say.
I can't recommend the "Follow Me" and "Courseplay" mods more. Get a second tractor, use the trailer you want, and adjust your follow position offset enough and just do a clockwise harvest path by setting enough headland passes to cover the field. Can be complicated with fields that are jammed into a bunch of obstacles, but with proper space you'll be golden.
