these guys are the best band ever! and also the most underrated band ever! no one can match the emotion they lend to music. Its majestic, heartfelt, chest bursting with emotion. all their albums are awesome! I hope they keep releasing albums, cause I need them.. and this song just kicks ass and brings back good memories!
Anathema are part of me... Their old stuff as well as new stuff. even if they start making only pop influenced stuff or something. I will surely listen to them and support them.
i couldn't agree more.. :) i enjoy listening to sweet tears, we - the gods, flying, a natural disaster, eternity, everything what they make is genious.. looking forward to see them wednesday a second time
one of the old songs that work perfect with vinnies voice, like angelica. Not all old songs work perfect, but that doesnt matter, their newer stuff after "alternative 4" is brillant as well. In fact both, old and newer Anathema are the best band ever!
At this moment (18/01/2007, 21.38), I witness hurricane "Kyrill" over Germany. This song - especially this amazing version - is the right soundtrack to it. (And I can hear the twigs breaking, the branches shaking, the howling wind against my window pane ...)
So, to join this conversation that was revived 4 years after the original post: Same concert as "Were You There?" (obviously), but on "Moment in Time" as a bonus. Period.
elysium...to dust. this is the first time i hear this song with a very soft voice from vince... funny, but not the right way :) A dying wish is one of the best Anathema songs ever...
Imagine a christian who had the chance to meet God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the virgin Mary and all the saints in heaven: multiply his feelings by 1,000 and you won't be even close to what I feel when I will experience ANATHEMA live for the first time!
Ever thought about, that Vinnie sang this one also on the original version on "A Silent Enigma"? "the new anathema man" - haha! You're right - band-co-founder and lead vcalist just since '95! Man, wake up, and don't tell crap about things you don't understand!
I happen to love the old and the new Anathema. I also don't think you make your point in "dishing" old Anathema. It's an essential part of Anathema or any good band. Not having it would be like skiping puberty and going right to adulthood, which is a very typical shallow atitude in music today - the"do it fast and profitable and dont change it" days. It would also make me feel less connected to the band. I'm lucky for growing up along with this band! Their music is a part of me, old and new.
anathema:one of the most emotional bands around all over the world

Still making great music which is absolutely stunning
I love the fact that anathema are progressing their music through years but they always stay cool with their past sound

Oh my God! This is awesome! I always thought this epic would be a great song, but this live-performance is fucking brilliant - pur energy!

awesome as usual
i really miss old anathema, when they made doom metal
Another fine example of why anathema are at the top of their game in any genre they chose to basically pwn.

that's not from "A Moment In Time",
that's from "Were You There?"
Well, actually this was recorded during "Were You There?" 2004 in Krzemionki, so technically it's still "Were You There?" :P
fucking awesome

Hats off! Old = new = ANATHEMA. Seen them live over 10 times and they ... ROCK! 29 years of making all types of music and they still kick ass!
sözlerle anlatılabilecek bi parça deil bu
Theres just one thing I dont like about new Anathema: they quit that awesome clean guitars with chorus FX...
well after 10 or years, awesome, while anathema's recent works feels more eh! personally couldn't stand their dunno, clean ultra soft style!
"Try to stay in time" XDDD so much people suck at clapping/singing at concerts lol
