random noise + S&H is like the sound of computers. I didn't know this until modular but like the sfx of a computer room in some old show is definitely just putting random pitches into an oscillator. Edit: the start of patch 2 really feels like that. What's giving it such a digital aliasing noise, or something like that btw?
Totally! It's a very popular modulation source. The sound at the start of patch 2 is actually just coming from the Kaestle with its own internal modulation sources. So it's kind of like an FM synth with the carrier being modulated by a stepped LFO that is looped. Hope that helps.
@@waporwave5066 oh yeah, it definately is. It's a clone of the Bastle Kastle, and it's a very noisy and gritty little thing, which is made all the more prominent when run through compression on the Zoia.
