Spirogyra Under The Microscope

- Spirogyra is a filamentous green algae found in freshwater environments. It is often found as green clumps, although each strand is microscopic. Spirogyra gets its name from the spiral pattern of chloroplast.
The microscope magnification of each shot is shown in the bottom right hand corner.

Very good micro-photography. I speak of high school mid-60s when we had to draw for memory a single spirogyra cell with nomenclature and functions. Diagrammatic representation in modern textx, though, will have improved out of sight since then!
