- Philippe Sella will be remembered as one of the greatest centres to ever play the game of rugby. In the 1980's and 1990's the French team was knows for their flair in the back line and Sella was central to the way they played.
He was a creative player with an eye for a gap. He was deceptively strong for his smallish stature and often broke through tackles.
In terms of French rugby, he is surely the greatest centre to ever play for France.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!
Sella was world class,unreal player
My favourite centre of all time. All Blacks supporter here. He was absolutely sublime! Untouchable!
I was born in Agen where Sella played his club rugby. And I would go see the games most weekends. Sella was my hero and I tell you he was phenomenal and I saw him play amazing rugby. There is a video somewhere of what I believe is his last try for Agen and it is a beauty!!!
I am envious
Quel magnifique joueur. Il transperçait littéralement le rideau défensif.
Well worth paying a lot of money to watch rugby like this. What a player.
my favourite player of all time. Thank You for the upload.
All the other rugby video producers out there limit their videos to 'new rugby' -- ie., rugby from the past 5 years or so, perhaps 10. You're the only one that mines the gold from before that. Thanks.
As long as there are people like you out there that enjoys the old rugby! Thanks for the support
Fantastic
I started playing rugby in the US at a late age in mid 80s and played centre, when i saw this guy play i was hooked still one of the 5 all time best ever to play
The greatest centre of all time.
Danie gerber the greatest...even Sella said danie was the best
Phillipe Sella being called by Bill Mclaren. My teenage years right there. Wonderful.
what a sublime player
Magnifique..did the damage against All Blacks many times..classy player.
Nobody can tell me rugby has evolved and is better these days. Just look at this running rugby and handling. No big fatties just trying to smash their way through.
great player and great number 1 5
Never forget watching Phillipe Sella vs Danie Gerber in the IRB centenary game 1986. Gerber scored 2 tries but Sella put some big tackles on Gerber. To this day I consider them the 2 best centres ahead of the likes of O’driscoll, Mortlock, Little, Bunce, Umaga, Horan, Guscott.
Le meilleur centre Francais de tous les temps...simplement...
L'un des meilleurs centres Francais de tous les temps !
Phillippe SELLA and Patrick Esteve. Both were brilliant French attacking players in a time when France had another seriously talented powerful side. Names like Blanco, Berbizier, Camborabero?, Lagisquet, etc
今でも世界最高のセンターだと思っています
Sella blanco world class
France will be 2023 rugby world champs..
They cant hold a candle to the French from the 80s and 90s.

Rinky dinky tinky
You're missing one of Australia's favourite Philippe Sella highlights in this video, when he knocked out Peter Fitzsimons in the first test of the 1990 series in Sydney! 😅😅😅
Yes they used to mock him, saying he was knocked out by a French midget.
If I had to pick an all-time rugby World XV, he’d be one of the easiest choices to be in it, as would his centre partner Danie Gerber.
great player, let's not forget how he got there - someone handed him the ball and forfeited the glory.
Funny range of commentators... from the great Bill McLaren to some random American calling a France v Australia game.

A great but no Brian O’Driscoll
extremely bad quality video. Nothing enjoyable if on e has never seen these matches
I'm sorry old rugby footage from the 80's wasn't recorded in Full HD for you...
@@RealRugby I'd ignore him - these videos are fantastic, thank you so much for doing, really brings back fantastic rugby
No one handles like the French.
