the first design was next level
I agree
Because was stolen. :)
@@adhilkdn4997 I think hes talking about the mindscape logo for some reason
Definitely agree
It was damn good
I really loved designing it (first one) but honestly the second designer did a fantastic job!
PS. I was the one, messaging him like crazy 😅 keep up the good work
Excellent work dude !
You did a wonderful job bro... Unlike the logo one, this one's tough. Both are amazing. But I kinda liked your presentation maybe because you built a prototype... Kudos to you and also the other guy 👏👏👏👏👏
I liked your design better
@@holographic80s Do you design apps on fiver, if so whats your link?
You really did a great job as well! Keep up the good work!
First designer was robbed IMO, the second design isn't bad at all, but there was something so relaxing and nice about the first design that much better matched with what the app is meant to represent.
My thoughts exactly!
I agree.
I agree. The first design was beautiful and had a very elegant UI. I know he was going for simple, but the first was simple. The second was more just...bare.
Subjective
Agreed
I think the first designer did a better job, it looked more modern. But this is how it happens if you think as a designer you should let your design speak for itself, you risk not making the cut.
For an app like this, I much preferred the first design for how it made me feel. I felt more relaxed seeing the first one with the blue colors, and it’s easier on my eyes as someone who easily gets eye strain with bright white and black contrasting text. Great job to both designers though! They both did an amazing job!
Really sad you didnt go for the first one. That one was much more appealing to me as an app, the second was meh, seen it before. But congrats on your app!
It was his choice... Can't complain... :|
I have to be honest, I think the first one would've been better
Agreed. Both good but the first one is really really fancy.
The first one is straight up gorgeous. Like in a "you would want to exist in that app" way.
(Props to the developer too.)
I think the first designer was much so better and from the comments section, so do most people as well. What I really like was the simplicity that captures the essence and calming vibe of meditation. The design speaks to you, conveys that feeling of zen. A very gifted designer for sure.
A common mistake entrepreneurs do when starting their business, is to choose something that they personally like rather than something their customers prefers. So it’s important to get some feedback as early as possible on your work, from potential customers. I’ve personally done this mistake so many times that I have to remind myself to stop and think from my audience’s perspective. Great video btw, I found it very useful.
Great vid! One thing I noticed is that the app has 1.1GB. Probably because of the audios. It’d be better if they were downloaded later. An app that big might prevent people from downloading
not only create an annoying threshold that keeps some users from onboarding, but also gives malicious users more of a window to pirate the audio itself
That guy from the logo raised his price from 135 to 400 euro lol
Honestly, they all need to raise their price!
Good
Still not a lot
Does one have to pay even when we're just trying out?
@@purplespark8 trying out? as in.
Should have done a voting poll for the designs! Also good going with the new developer great to see!
Full-time Senior UI designer here. The first design was really awesome, however... it would fail WCAG accessibility standards for the typography and there are a lot of areas that I would question the functionality! I preferred the second design as it was actually more realistic (clearly Spotify was a big inspiration - I can tell without even checking the font is Circular Std, the same font Spotify uses. The first design is one that felt a little more like a Dribbble glamour shot that wouldn't actually translate well IMHO. Great job both designers, love the direction of the app Will - good work!
It does look like Circular std but it is not. You can tell from the text on the inspiration page - lower case T's have a rounded bit in the top left hand corner of the letter where as these do not. I thought the same thing as you though. I'm not sure what this font is but a lot of companies use it.
let's apriciate that devoted hater who pressed the dislike button even if the video has 21 minutes and it was posted 7 minutes ago 😂😂😂
😂
Lol 😂
U don't need to be hater to dislike
@@witheeeeeerx it was just a joke. i didn't mean to offense anyone
@@mishu3676 ik bro 😂😂
This was SO fun to make, I still can’t believe it’s real! I love it 😻
Same!!
Never seen this many Pat(t)ersons' in one place 😂
I stopped watching the video as soon as he choose 2nd design over first. The one he choose was pretty basic and usual but the first ui design was so A class
Ah yes, 1.1 gigabytes. The pinnacle of optimisation.
Actually tho, big props to the developer for getting it done in a relatively short period of time
Holy mother of god... 1.1 GB
Its probably because you download all the sounds with it, instead of listening it from a server like you do with spotify.
@@maxvanderlinden5839 Yea. Hosting data on servers, programming and maintaining it would be quite expensive
@@BasicallyImCrap Also do you really want skipping and buffering during your chillout session if your internet / signal has issues ;)
This is AMAZING! i love this. amazing to see the power of technology meet community work
Absolutely!
I would have given them all each other’s work emails and had them freely contact each other so that way there is a team of designers rather than a puzzle that needs to be fit together.
Like create a slack
the amount of talent on fiverr is unprecedented
I would love to see a video on the brief that you created to give to the designers and developer :) would be helpful to see how you laid out your requirements and the thought process! :D P.s awesome video!
Man I'm impressed and also u giving it for free!!!! I wish it was for Android too :/ I LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!!
Coming to Android hopefully soon!
@@willpatersondesign Great to hear will. You're amazing 👍👍
@@willpatersondesign I'm looking forward to using it on my Android phone, please let us know when it releases on Google Play!
Yeah. I'm waiting for android. It'd be nice if we could get the 1st developer for android Rofl.
@@willpatersondesign Hope this would maybe still be possible.
I've actually downloaded the app and the sound mixing feature is amazing! :)
Aw I'm so glad you like it!
@@willpatersondesign I really do! Music + bird sounds + are great for falling asleep. :)
i loved the splash screen of the first app, and it's really nice how it asks you how you feel right off the bat, but i thought the layout was a little bit too busy and involved(?) for a meditation app. while the second design can look very simplistic in comparison i think it fits in better with the brief and functionality of the project. great job from all the creators who worked on these videos!
Hey will congratulations for your app. Looks awesome. Just downloaded to test out the experience and im a fan of it.
There a just a few things to mention for optimization.
1. File Size
Your app has a file size of 1.1GB which is extremely huge for a smartphone (meditation) app. I think the main cause are the music files which are probably stored statically within the app. You could store the music files externally and stream them.
2. Broken layout
The music player is not aligned on the navigation bar. It hovers slightly above like 25px. Therefore it blocks content on the app.
I think you can take ideas from both, but in real life functioning the more simplistic the better to develop the app, so I think is a nice choice to take the 2nd one.
Personally I preferred the first design however the second was great. I would definitely download this app however it is not on the Google play store which is sad.
Much preferred the first design, sorry! It felt much calmer because of the softness of the colours and buttons. The flow seemed much nicer too. I did try and look for the app though and it's not on Andriod 🙁 The app does sound great though! Great work from everyone.
1.1GB for an app download? Jheeze that's a hefty one.
Someone is gonna comment and get wooshed
i don't get it
Wow this is fantastic. You just make an startup by hiring people from fiverr hahaha
2nd one giving me insight timer vibes
I love your idea around the app, Will, but I think that you made it a Spotify clone.
The first design was doing what it was supposed to do- calm you down and soothen your mental health.
The 2nd design looked like that a color bomb went off in the app.
Cool video! One thing you are missing is the breakdown of costs based on each phase of vendor..... Logo Designer, UX, Developer, App Store, Go-live, etc. Would be cool to see the total cost. Also, this video improved my outlook to potentially use Fiverr instead of Upwork All in all appreciate the video Will! Good Stuff!
The first one was original and unique. The second one looked like a rip off Spotify! Why 😭
Hey Will! Just downloaded the app. I love the simplicity. Wasn’t sure I would prefer it over extra options and accessibility. But it actually feels like an environment I could use for cultivating a headspace. It’s not telling me what to feel or think about, at all, just giving me the control to explore and exist as I need to.
A few of the controls feel rough within it, but I’m here for the concept and really hope y’all will continue fine tuning the UI. Even though they are still a bit loud at their lowest volume, I particularly enjoy the ability to overlay sounds! It makes it into MY space, specifically with the unique tracks of the coffee shop and whale(s). Great concepts from everyone involved and I am excited to have seen it develop. How often do we get to feel any personal connection to apps? Thanks for that.
dang i really thought you would choose the first design. it was so good & hard to beat and tbh i don’t think the second one did
I enjoyed your previous video, where we get to see different thought and concept on logo designing... So informative
Glad to hear that
First design was much better imo
Just FYI. Your app is over a gigabyte of data to download. You might want to look into using api calls instead of putting the audio files in the app as well 😉
I personally like the first one better but the second one is amazing as well!
First UI pretty insane ! 2nd one just average
now just get it on Android :D
🤓
@@willpatersondesign any update?
Would've been really nice to have on Android as my Fiancé suffers with Anxiety issues.

"It seems like this designer was made just for me" constantly my thought when scrolling through sellers on fiverr 😂😂😂
Wait! That logo was designed by a6design in a previous video! Glad the project became reality!
This dude must feel bad as heck now, everybody's saying he should've used the first design.
haha, I'm okay with it. I chose the design that fit the brief the best. It's also simpler to add more features with the second version : )
@@willpatersondesign oh right, well, cool! no problem haha
Great job you guys at fiverr. But to be honest I like the first design more.
Wow its 1.1GB app ! I know its bcoz of long musics.
i havnt used the app but here are things i would like to see in app :
1- sleep timer
2- background play (im sure it has)
3- Affirmation
Thank u 🙏🏼
Noted! The app is large right now, but in a new update it will be a lot smaller ha. With some cool things happening :)
The first designer is definitly my fave. Nice video
Honestly, the first design couldn't be better. 2nd is cool too, but it doesn't encourage me to use the app, unlike 1st one
The first design button logos fit the theme of the app as well.
I'm super super new to this and seeing that you can create an app JUST like that is fricking mindblowing. Wow
this is not what it takes a real world class app
As a developer myself i cheers up to the developer 🥳
i prefer him not wearing the cap in this video! he looks more sleek and refined without the cap HAHA! love the look and style of his hair!
optionald is my countryman and I'm glad he didn't dissapoint you
🙃
Thanks for this content, it’s great. Where can we see the brief? Imo it’s the most important part of negotiating the minefield of Fiverr. Thanks
*Disclaimer* I've only watched 13 minutes of the video so far;
I really feel like that first design is great and would be a great platform where you can follow other users and share music you liked with each other and share/upload quotes
this is so awesome - i thought the first UX was better but both were good.
Wow! It's awesome! Thanks for showing the project!
I’d say giving a Noob Developer a Simpler A Cheaper Design is a Great Business Decision. Because You can sell the First Design to a Organisation with Assets for 100X more than it’s value & recoup a large amount
So as designers we are encouraging Fiverr...? Can we talk about how little money was spent for most probably a whole lot of work hours? I really don't get how, as a respected designer, you can back a platform that is DEVALUING the work of creatives all around the world.
And here is the perfect example of collaborative creation. That's insanely good.
Glad you think so!
@@willpatersondesign Btw, the previous video of Mindspace was the first recommend I've got from your channel, and I'm from Brazil, so yeah, the algorithm must be in your favor I guess.
I think the second one is better because looks more functional
There is an app in Play Store called 'Guided Meditation Masters' which has almost the same logo
It’s similar but the “arms” are outward in rather than tucked in and it’s less human-like or less organic looking than Guided Meditation Masters’ logo. But if you Google “yoga logo” or “meditation logo” you’ll find loads of them, some exactly the same as Guided Meditation Masters’ logo. Overall, the design is pretty common given the genre of the app.
i like the first design ... and the music is so good wow 👏
Do you want to develop an app?
That rick and morty episode 😂
Do consider releasing the app for Play Store too.
I downloaded the app a few weeks ago and deinstalled it for some reason. Now I found this video
First one was so lit
*I Loved everything about the Video & I love the App, Thank You!!!* 😍🔥
PS: *Can't wait for Updates…!!!* 🤩👍🏾
Hey Will,
Great video. It's incredible what can be achieved now with technology access and a talented global community of designs, developers and entrepreneurs.
I'm interested to know what was your total spend including other associated costs of using the community to create and develop your app? You didn't mention it in the video.
You’re missing a quote in the first graphic displayed for previewing the app btw
Using this now. Simple easy app great relaxing music and I love the use of adding noises to the music.
Cave is my favourite
I was going to download it but it's not on Android! 😭
You should make a video on how to make an app, steps on how to hire developers, who to hire like ux designers, developers etc
Bro thank you for this video I trying to build my app using fiverr services and im glad it went well for you and it gives me confidence that it’ll work for me also congrats
Honestly I feel like these guys are so amazingly talented..and unfortunately there are some limitation for some of these guys when it comes to implementation due to technology and I wish that wasn't the case because for how they have learned there trade they deserve better...
the guy from the first design is literally asking for pennies, his work is fantastic
That's amazing! Would love to see it as an Android app as well!
Working on it!
@@willpatersondesign That's lovely to hear!
@@willpatersondesign Fiverr needs to sponsor an Android port video... 🤞
Tbh I prefered the first one, which just felt “fuller” in a nice way, and also not completely dark and with a shade of purple, but yeah. Maybe you could work on sort of “merging” some of the different parts together?
If you ever launch on Google play store, please use the first UI if possible
Honestly unpopular opinion but the second one was the right choice for sure
*THANK YOU!!!* 😂😍👍🏾
can man like share his feelings with others who could also read this and maybe reply and share thier story how they moved on. i like the fact that u can wright and i think somone can read that if u want.
I am ready to download this app lol - I love it so far. I hope you go through with it and make it something real for us to use! The first UX was my favorite. Imagine having your own music made for you, and having buttons that could turn off certain aspects of the music. Such as turn off the wind but hear the water and birds and so forth!
MAN, its only on Apple Store? DAMN!!
Coming soon to Android :)
in my opinion the first UI/UX design is better than the second because in my eyes it's more original than the seconds which is more spotify like
The problem I see a lot in designers work fail to take into account accessibility.
Hey
Do you mean for user to be easy to work?
Or
For developer possible to translate?
Hope you remember this video I am replying you
I'm surprised you chose the second one 😔
You know what?
This is Fun. Running my own business from home, while working my ass off at work. Currently working on couple digital ideas for medical software.
make more fiver videos love your videos
Thank you!
How do you make money from the app? I'm thinking about doing stuff like this but if you don't make money, I don't see an incentive to make.
Just tried the app, would be nice if you can control the volume of the extra foley sounds. I added the rain and it was very loud compared to the relaxation music. Otherwise very simple but nice app to use.
Honestly I think the first one should have won
But the other one did a better than great job 👍
Also where was the guy who was new??
The only reason why he wouldn't have gone for the first design would be because that would be a lot more development time meaning a lot more money
I am a design student and instrumental and zen music is what I listen normally. this app gives my what I need love this app. the only issue is that its 1.1gb !!
This was really cool. Well done mate!
i would have downloaded it for the first UI but as you have choosen the second one and its nothing different than spotify so nah..
you can create you all logo from fiverr top rated seller
Love these fiverr videos! :D
I’m glad!
Wow! Just wow! Wow! Fire stuff
