      so you dont worry about the blood clots poor blood circulation heart attacks or cancer that Xolair warns you it can cause? I suffer greaty from CIU as a kid and as an adult. i have been on dapsone and many other meds that stopped working. yet this xolair they want to inject me with, it seems that people like myself that are desperate to get their quality of life back, are not concerned about blood clots in the lungs cancer heart attacks or poor blood circulation that xolair has been known to cause. As much as I suffer.I am concerened about that. I wonder if people even got those serious side effects if they even would relate it to xolair? Since they only see the positive side and negelet the possible sieeffects it can cause in the long run. How Peculiar indeed.

    Mine started in 2012. It lasted for 3 weeks. Again in 2016 for 3 weeks . Each time I was a steroid to control them. Now in 2020, it's been 10 weeks. Each time I have allergy test, and I'm never allergic to anything. I've been tested for lupus, leukemia, and other diseases, everything came back negative. I was on steroids for 5 weeks, in which it controlled the hives and swelling. But I had to get off the steroids. As soon as I got off everything came back. I tried all kinds of antihistamine and nothing. I had mine first xolair injections a couple of days ago, but I'm still having issues. Hopefully soon I get better too. Thanks for the info. Thanks for the video. Great information. I just passed a two month episode of urticaria. I noticed that milk may be the culprit for me and I determined this by keeping a food diary with symptoms so I can rule out any possible causes. But, I think my case is due to leaky gut and maybe the milk (or other substance) caused a problem in the gut (allowing food particles in my blood stream where an immune response in the form of hives occurred) and it took about two months to heal.
    I introduce this comment because if the hives are caused by leaky gut, then the Xolair can be masking a greater and more dangerous problem. I look forward to more videos from you. Thanks.

      Any other sympoms you had with your leaky gut?

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel
      @PatrickHoodDaniel 6 лет назад +1

      Afroditi Lakou I’ve actually completely solved my problem. Once I stopped drinking milk (I love milk) my hives completely went away. I haven’t had the problem for a long time and I’ve actually stopped taking antihistamines.

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel
      @PatrickHoodDaniel 6 лет назад

      Afroditi Lakou I believe the milk caused the gut problems. They wouldn’t appear immediately so that is why I believe it was related to leaky gut. All the food I thought I had a sensitivity to are not a problem anymore.

    • @MandieLovesMAC
      @MandieLovesMAC 3 года назад

      How long did it take from when you stopped drinking milk for the hives to go away? X

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel
      @PatrickHoodDaniel 3 года назад

      @@MandieLovesMAC It probably took about a week for it to completely clear up. It was getting so bad that I was not even able to sleep. I also needed to stop eating cheese, which is really difficult since cheese is in so many dishes. I was pretty determined, so just removing a specific type of food for a while and seeing what happened, and after removing many different foods, like eggs, or specific spices, or other foods that seemed like it was causing the hives, milk was the culprit.
      Interestingly, milk seemed to just lower my defenses and cause other things to give me hives, like detergents, or basil. Like when I get out of bed, the hives seemed to be located only in the areas where the sheets touched my skin. After stopping milk, not even detergents would cause the hives.
      I hope this helps. If milk doesn't stop your hives, then eliminating a different food may do the trick.

    Thank you! This is a very informative column. I am 87, and I am having a session with CIU! I find that icing down the wheals gives relief. I also find that rubbing the wheals with coconut oil keeps them from itching as much. I just started my hives session, but recognize that I have had other sessions In the past. My hives sessions, I thought, began with a cold, drippy nose, but never progressed to my throat, and skipped to my lungs, for a bronchitis and a honking cough. I have had this session for 3 weeks now. First doctor gave me prednisone and Benadryl and claritin. Visit to ER after lip started swelling after 3 days on remedy #1. ER doctor gave me stronger prednisone, a Benadryl drip and I am taking a stronger prednisone course and the Benadryl and Claritin. I will see an allergist in 2 weeks. Your video helps me get up on new things for hives. It used to be Calamine and oatmeal wrapped in handkerchief, tied with rubber band, and dabbed in water to make a paste that you patted over your wheals. Ice packs work better. (I have 5 ice packs of various sizes. ). Another thing I am going to try is supercleaning my bedding. I will wash sheets with detergent, then wash again in-clear hot water, and dry in dryer. I will also put comforters and bedspreads in a hot to warm dryer for at least 30 minutes. Who knows, there could be bacteria or tardigrades in the bedclothes that you might not suspect. This would be good especially if you have had itching at night. Good luck! Love from G’ma.

    Greetings from Florida USA
    I'm happy the xolair is working for you🤗🤗. I also got diagnosed with idiopathic urticaria. I am allergic to certain medicines, antibiotics, also environmental and food allergies . I started the xolair injections in January of this year and unfortunately I continue having hives. I can say xolair is keeping my asthma under control. The intensity and the duration of the flares of urticaria has decreased. I think is slowly working and hopefully soon I'll be free of hives and medicines. I just subscribed to your channel😊

I started working with an itch specialist in Miami and I am now off of Xolair and began taking cyclosporine, which, in my case, has provided some relief, less frequent hives after 2 weeks. Hoping it improves even more. Something else I was recommended by my allergist is to try the Wim Hoff method since cold water helps me 🥶 - still have yet to try it. Then like June 17th I came down with like flu symptoms, acheyness/fever. This turned into crazy cold that just like lingered for rest of June. End of June it almost felt like I had like strep throat, but rapid/lab test came back negative. I'm feeling better as of July 5th, sore/strep throat feeling went away, but I still have some body fatigue that comes and goes, and just have this annoying post nasal drip and a cough that comes and goes. I've just never had sickness last this long before which is what freaks me out. Taking Xolair for mild chronic urticaria that started in December 2021. Just saw your original video. I had surgery a couple of years ago and had a terrible allergic reaction to the steri strips they used to cover the small incisions. Once that cleared up, I broke out in hives everywhere and went through pretty much what you described in your video. I’ve been on Xolair for 1.5 years. I’ve tried to wean off by extending the time between injections slightly but then the hives start popping up again.

    I just wanted to thank you for the video. I just realized the other day that I’ve been dealing with this off and on for well over a year. Maybe more than two. Now there’s never an off period. It’s every day. I was just diagnosed a month ago and am currently waiting to be approved for Xolair. I wasn’t diagnosed as having CIU for the longest because I was going through a huge amount of turmoil in my life. I had been hospitalized in a psych ward. I wasn’t working and had lost my way. My mother passed away. It was simply chalked up to emotional stress. The best was in the psych ward when they said I was too emotional and I should just calm down. “Gee thanks useless twit. My depression of 35+ years is now miraculously cured because of your incredible wisdom so I’ll just be chill now!” My hives aren’t small. I get huge hives. Some as much as a foot in diameter like the ones that occupy my entire abdomen so that I appear to be 3 months pregnant. Others that wrap their way around my entire arm or leg. Ones that cover my whole face, hands, feet, back. The more I scratch, the more they bruise so that on top of being itchy they are painful even days after one of them has disappeared. Once I scratched so deep I was in danger of developing cellulitis. This illness is life crushing. I have no life. It’s isolating because I feel too uncomfortable with all the scratching that I’d be embarrassed to be in front of anyone acting like I have a raging case of scabies. It feels like I’m being punished for something and I don’t know what that something is. I cry all the time. And yes, prednisone absolutely does the trick but that’s no long term solution and if you suffer from depression it actually makes the depression worse. I can’t wait to start Xolair. Hopefully it’ll happen in the next month. I just wanted to thank you because your video made me realize this mess might have an end point and it made me realize I am not alone. This particular misery really loves the company but wouldn’t it be nice if we were all over it already?

      salma amin They’re exactly the same which is to say they’re huge. My whole inner thigh is covered as well as my entire left forearm. It probably won’t get sorted until after that second injection and best believe I will stick to the monthly regiment. One thing I noticed after the first injection. The hives were gone the following day. The following week I stopped taking my hydroxyzine thinking I was covered by the Xolair. The hives may have been gone but without the hydroxyzine I was still incredibly itchy. The Xolair site does advise that you not stop taking the other medications prescribed before starting the Xolair. They couldn’t be more right! I wonder if there’ll be a time when I don’t have to have injections or have to take pills.

    • @hibaqobsiye2040

      @@mousegirl100 you're right, it's best to keep taking the antihistamines and then slowly wean yourself off of the anti-histamines after your final xolair like how the girl in the video did so it gives your body time to repair itself. Since i used to wake up at 6 am (so i could go to school) every morning and go to sleep very late (between 12 and 1 am) due to my duties (as a student and home responsabilities) my urticaria was always at its fullest. Now that I attend colllege, my schedule is not as tight as it was before and I don 't have to wake so early in the morning. Plus, now my diet is almost out of proccessed foods.

Did anyone else get that result I've had 5 months worth of treatment- 300 mgs every month. • @theonewind

      Sonja Sleator My shot went great!:). The day of that I got my shot I was super happy and so I didn’t break out at all. The second day was the first day ever that I didn’t break out on my back and I could barely feel any hives on my arms and legs it was great. Unfortunately, on the 3rd day I was super stressed and somehow broke out on my back and again and it was painful. I still feel better overall, but not a ton better. If I could somehow never stress out I would probably be cured very quickly, unfortunately since Im about to graduate my parents want me to get a job for the summer before I go to college, and I can’t be in the heat because of the hives and job in general is too stresssful and my parentS dont care enough about my problem for me not to have a job. Does the Xolair progressively get better (my first shot was 300 mg), meaning will i feel less hives even a week from now? And does that second shot help a lot more? I really am desperate for answers because if im going to have to get a job i dont want to be miserable and on the brink of suicide :(.

    • @sonjasleator7582
      @sonjasleator7582  6 лет назад +2

      Evan Blodgett I'm soooo sorry that you are so stressed! But yes if you feel better and noticed a difference after the first injection it will only get better from here on in! If you are like me hopefully you will notice a huge difference by the summer. I would really rethink about a summer job. Let your body rest and take time to adjust to this new medication rather than worrying about a summer job. Jobs will always be there. So use this time now while you can to look after your health. That's just my opinion on it. But only people like us can really understand just how bloody horrible this disease is x
