I never get much luck when I coin roll hunt quarters... Yet, I still love the anticipation of opening those orange striped rolls and looking for silver. I have put off hunting quarters often (although I do look through one box per week) since my luck with them is terrible... but sometimes lady luck gives you a helping hand!
In this video, I'll open up 6 box of quarters from different bank branches including Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America, and Chase Bank in hopes of breaking the skunk streak and hopefully finding a 2019 W Quarter or at the least, landing my first Silver Quarter of 2019.
What do you prefer to hunt? Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Halves?

Rob, you would be looking for 2019 American Memorial Park quarters for the W mintmarks. The 2019 Lowells were already out when the Lowell W was released.
When the Ws were ready it was AMP release time and they put them there in those rolls.
You will find them once the 2nd quarter of the year comes out. By my calculation and information I've gathered it's an average of 7-8 Ws per box.can be higher or lower but that's the average. 3 boxes nets people 40 W mint marks. Which is like 1 every 3 rolls or so. You just gotta find the right box. And be there at the right time.
I just purchased a box of the 2nd series American Memorial Parks looking for the "W" quarters I did find 5 quarters all being Lowell mixed in. The mint did not intend for the W quarters to hit the streets till the middle of April for the Hunt week.

I got my first proof quarter at the gas station about 6 months ago. The same station I got 2 silvers.

by the way, you say you have weeks left to search for the W quarters. IN reality, you have a year. they will come out all year long with each new ATB strike. Here in Phoenix we aren't getting any Lowell's yet (I'm not) and we are normally a few MONTHS behind releases before we see them, so I expect a full year before any released Frank Church river W's hit the market here. I haven't done quarters in a few years, but shall do them every 3 weeks now for the next year, and pick up boxes ongoing. Good luck to you.

Didn’t know about the 2019 W’s until now. Gotta start looking for those at work. Found 2 proofs in last couple of weeks, a North Dakota and a 1978. Also found a gold Eisenhower commemorative centennial too.

Nice day. two silvers AND a proof. Cool. (I have found 112 silver quarters so far, although 80 of them were in 2 customer wrapped solid rolls. Found together. Still, 22 other ones. ALso, 10 Proof quarters, 1 silver proof quarter, one Wisconsin lower lef, one wisconsin upper leaf, 1 Kansas Rust, and one silver balboa. That's for quarters. Keep at it. Your day of a roll of 40 silvers will come.) :-)

Nice Lowell coin I am collecting nickels from 1900 to 2019 so I can line them up year by year and see how time has changed so much through out the years

Rob a BIG Congrats on finding those silver quarters. Still 0-for every box of quarters so far. Haven't done any this year. But...after the 3 silvers in the 2 dime boxes last week may get back into regularly checking dimes again. For the first time in 2019, skunked on my last 2 half boxes, but, the one this afternoon did yield 3 San Fran mint mark proofs! A first for me.

If I was you, I would keep the 2019s and get them graded in 10 to 15 years.

Just found a silver 1963 quarter counting up my change jar! I've found dimes before but never thought I'd find a quarter. I'm so excited I just had to tell someone.

I work in a bank and just got into coin collecting last year. I found 4 W quarters so far, two of which were in circulation already! So keep your eyes open and head up! :)
In ten years of buying rolls of quarters from banks for laundry, never did I find a silver. But I was betrayed several times by Canadian quarters finding their way in there. Last time I found silvers in circulation was when I worked a register from 2001-2006.

Hey! While visiting my brother in Orlando today I went to Wells Fargo and picked up 41 rolls of 2019 quarters! All the memorial quarters! Wound up pulling out 6 West Point quarters!😜
I'm building albums for dimes, quarters, halfs. It didn't take long to figure out 1982-1983 are key dates due to lack of mint sets for those years. I ended up paying a large premium for uncirculated mint souvenir sets for Philadelphia and Denver for both years, so at least I have those harder to find years in uncirculated condition.

there is one thing I agree with, that quarter's are the hardest to find anything in, in my life I have found maybe three silver Canadian quarter's, great finds and great video

Rob, get some cheap latex gloves to avoid all the grime on your fingers. Who knows what kinds of germs/viruses/bacteria are lurking there?? Enjoyed the hunt. Now do you have to re-roll all them quarters, or have a coin machine at your bank that doesn't charge a commission to run the coins thru? I am going to try to get some "fresh" 2019 quarter rolls tomorrow and look for the elusive "W". Great video as always, enjoyable.

Nice finds. Quarters are so hard to hunt cause it seems like you don't find anything. The W will eventually will show up !
The mint mixed the 2019 w with a bunch of diff circulated coins, they've found drummer boys and 1983s in rolls with 2019s as well, they did it to reduce the chances of people buying whlle boxes and jus keeping them

5:00 Since most of them will be in circulation they wont be saved. Later on they will be almost impossible to find in uncirculated condition. Saving a roll of 2019 quarters today is the same as someone in 1965 saving a roll of the new clad quarters.

That “IN GOD WE RUST” error is pretty interesting, to be honest.
Back in 2017, we had a commemorative 50p design about Isaac Newton, which is already scarce at only around 1.7 million minted for circulation, but some coins are even rarer because of a much weirder mint error.
Somehow, the dies struck together without a 50p blank between them, so some of the lines from the reverse of the coin struck onto the obverse of the coin for some time afterwards until the mistake was found out.

Quarters are tough for silver. My son and I have gotten a bit lucky recently with two silvers in our last couple hundred dollars searched.
Going to start finding more and more as collectors start dumping a lot of coins back into circulation as part of the Great American Coin Hunt National Celebration... My local club is putting back over 800 collectible coins back into circulation of various types.

Wow... and this is why I avoid hunting quarters or dimes for silver. I *may* try checking quarters, since I suspect that CoinStar machines may accept quarters, as I've only ever found silver dimes in the reject trays (my silver quarter find was from the top before it was dumped in by someone that apparently left it in a hurry). Since I suspect my half dollar bank gets coins from the people that collect from those green machines in my area, it may make for some interesting 'customer-wrapped' hunting.

Don’t get Bank of America boxes because they take all the silver ones out and just leave you one.. It seems that banks were possibly told by the government to not give out silver anymore. Which is a bummer.

I watched this video the day it came out, and today, I got my first "W" quarter. But, instead of Lowell, Mass, it is a Northern Marianas. Given that I got it in change from a grocery store with several "P" Marianas quarters, the mint must be doing exactly as they said in that they are sending examples to Denver and Philly to mix in with rolls.
Im heading to Philly in the morning, gonna swing by a few banks for some rolls hoping to strike W quarter luck
I live in the Baltimore area and in the past 3 weeks have gotten about 10 boxes. Zero uncirculated boxes and only a handful of 2019's. I'm very frustrated

Don’t know what area you live in, but where I’m at in so cal, quarter and dime rolls are filled with highly damaged coins. At least 90% of quarters and dimes in rolls bought at any bank are garbage. Worn bent cut you name it, damaged.
