I sewed a drill bit organizer (similar to what knitting needles would be kept in). A rectangle folded up at the bottom with skinny pockets made from vertical rows of stitching. The top flap folds down over the pockets and then the pouch can be rolled up like a burrito and tied or velcro shut.
My husband misplaced the TV remote and he reads in front of the TV. So I did a long kind of table runner with big pockets at the end with the same material I upholstery his throne chair (the one in front of the TV). I placed the “table runner” along the arms of the chair and under the seat cushion (I hope this makes sense to you). He loves it: he has his remote, book, tablet, drink and even the Bengay inside the big pockets that hangs at the sides of the chair arms. He has everything a king may needs close in one place, in front of the TV! I sewed more things for him, but this is what he likes the most!
After working outside all day even in winter, husband has cold feet. I sewed rice packs that I heat in microwave. He uses them (so do I) when lounging in the couch, I put them under the sheets by the foot area of our bed to pre warm sheets in winter n of course we use them around the back of our shoulders or back when there’s an ache or pain. I’ve placed one (not too hot) in the stroller to keep baby warm too.
I like to make travel pillow cases. I use fun fabrics, make a case with a zippered opening and a handle on the top. I sleep better when I have my usual pillow with me
As a man, yes, I would appreciate all of these. I made some pillowcases for my son and his roommate so their college dorm feels home-ish. Fabric choice is crucial, and Holiday themes got smiles all around. Never thought about a coffee sleeve for my iced coffee, great idea!
My husband has an end table that gets out of control with papers, keys, gadgets, etc. I am repurposing some small connecting bins by covering them in camo fabric to give him some needed organization😉
I made my husband four box pouches this year. He does triathlon, so one for each discipline (bike, swimming and running fabric) and then one for fuel bars (Banana print). Hopefully it will keep his kit bag organised when he nect competes.
Totally agree about the fabric being key for sewing for men. I had the hardest time finding fabrics for a pillow case but I settled for fish and footballs and got the job done!! Thanks for the additional ideas
Love the beverage coosie idea. Fabulous scrap buster idea. I made suit bags for all the men on my list this year and they were a big hit. To your point, the fabric choice made the difference for their garment bags. I used camouflage fabric for one, and a plaid for another. One comment was that they wouldn’t necessarily buy a garment bag for themselves, which, to me makes it a better gift idea.
Love the video an ideas. I made bowl holders for the people in my department a few years ago an everyone loved them and several of them asked for more of them. It can be challenging to find fabric for men sometimes especially if they arent sports or star wars fans. I like the coffee sleeves. And i agree the key for sewing for men is the fabric choice.
Agree on challenge locating fabric for men. I normally go with solid dark colors which is getting old & not as exciting. I can’t see my grown sons using anything with print. Lol
I made a dice bag for my son last year and he really liked it. Also the cell phone holders/stands. I made them for all of my co-workers and they were a big hit, got used with e-readers as well as phones.
I have made all apart from your coffee holder for friends and family and they loved them but husband is a nightmare to sew for. I have made him Waterproof Hiking Gaiters and Gaiters to wear when strimming the grass to keep jeans clean. I have made him snap shut glasses cases. He does a lot of fishing and puts his glasses in his shirt pocket then loses them over the side of the boat or river Bank so made him a case with a carabiner clip so he can attach to his belt loops. Running out of ideas now but if your man plays sport maybe something to do with that, a wrap for fishing rods was a successful one. All his fishing rods come apart and this is something so easy to make, just like a jewellery wrap but bigger with compartments then roll up. Made a microwave heat pad, hand warmer pads and a hot water bottle cover cos at over 70 he needs that sort of thing 😂. Can't think of anything else to make, he doesn't play games so a bag no good, rarely watches TV so remote caddy no good, it's getting harder to think of something to sew, maybe a cushion for the boat or a gardening kneeling pad.
I love these ideas!! Thank you for sharing! 🥰. My Dear Hubby loves the zipper pouches - I made a couple for his shaver accessories and one for all his phone chargers and cords. He also has a larger zipper pouch for his blood pressure monitor. The triangle pouches are great for charging cords, too! ♥️🎄💚
I make my husband pillow cases every year, he likes king size pillows. Thanks I will give the coffee thing a try. I would also suggest bowl cozy’s for the office microwave.
WOW!! Great ideas, thank you. I bought your pattern tutorial for the oversized hot pad (because I love it so much) to make for Christmas gifts this year and I've also been making shoe bags for travelers and cord keepers. Please keep up the inspiration and tell your husband thank you for his sacrifices in the military.
I made a pillow cover for a 12x12 pillow form using Star Trek fabric and put two pockets for TV remotes for our bedroom. He was forever losing the remote in the blankets but since I made this pillow about 2 or 3 years ago I hear, Where’s the remote? Way less! And the pillow is small enough to stay on the bed all night.
Like the ideas. Have already been making pillow cases for all my grandchildren and my husband made a comment that he would like one too, surprised me! Also he has asked me to sew him a workman's carpenter apron.
I made several of the oversize hot pads, and they turned out great. I didn't have a walking foot, so I had to get one. It's a game-changer! The ideas for men are great also!
I made my husband an oversized quilted placemat for the kitchen table. I used a foam type dish drying mat from the dollar store as batting and just covered the front. I used a blue and white fabric in a mosaïque style so not too feminin. ( matches kitchen)He likes it because it is bigger than a standard placemat and softer for when he rests his forarms on th table.lol😂 i will try to find photo.
Thanks for the ideas. I went to Etsy and bought two patterns. I'm the type that needs it written in front of me. The coffee sleeve and oversize pad can be for all ages with all the fabrics available. It looks to be simple and quick.
Thanks for sharing! I have made my husband a sun hat from old denim jeans and he has asked for an apron in denim as well. The other thing I make for him over an over again is t-shirts! He is a big guy and find it hard to find fun t-shirts that fit well.
@@PinCutSew Well I drafted it myself actually and it wasn’t too difficult. He wanted the sleeves to be more fitted as well so I raised the sleeve head and tried it out as I went. He loves his custom made T-shirts, soo rewarding for me 🥰
Bookmarks, tote bags, bottle bags, backpacks, key fobs, wallets. My challenge is finding "AFFORDABLE" Alien Xenomorph or Predator fabric in or that will ship to New Zealand! The fabric I've found is expensive as all heck, and the shipping is at least the same price, if not double!
I’ve sewn, crocheted, and knitted a few random items to send to my grandparents all for my grandma but I can NOT think of anything to make for my grandpa😭😭 this video definitely gave me some ideas to work on for him😅
i made a bag to go over headrest in car for my husband . it says papa can fix it . i’m an embroiderer. it was for him to put his bible and sunday school books and study books in instead of leaving them on the center to slide off
Video idea...could you show us how to make those little potholders to use with instantpots? I think they are fingers thumb potholders. Thanks... Betty in TX
Women like pillow case for birthday. I make them for kids birthday party give away. I embroidery their name on them. Older boys like baseball or football

So smart!

Fantastic idea!
I need to make one! So many remotes!
I make my hubby pj pants using novelty fabrics. He has a pair with tractors, another with aeroplanes, etc. He loves them, and I love making them.
Yes, great idea! My mom does that for my Dad too 💕

This is a great idea!! I’m a cold person too, love it.

Men also like tool up tool caddies for screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.

What a great gift 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Totally agree about the fabric being key for sewing for men. I had the hardest time finding fabrics for a pillow case but I settled for fish and footballs and got the job done!! Thanks for the additional ideas
I've made pockets for the wheelchair bound and pockets to hang from walkers. Love your ideas! I pick up fabric at garage sales for next to nothing.
That’s so sweet, great idea 💕
My favorite idea is making the pillow case with different themes. I will do this for sure!

Wow, your husband is lucky to have you! Such great and personal ideas 💕
I love these ideas!! Thank you for sharing! 🥰.

He also has a larger zipper pouch for his blood pressure monitor.
The triangle pouches are great for charging cords, too! ♥️🎄💚
Greta ideas, my husband would for sure use a charger cable bag!
I make my husband pillow cases every year, he likes king size pillows. Thanks I will give the coffee thing a try. I would also suggest bowl cozy’s for the office microwave.
Yes bowl cozies, good idea!

These are great ideas, thank you for sharing! And my husband says thank you for your support :)
I made your oversized hot pads for my daughter and she loves them. Thank you for the video and pattern!

I didn’t even think about making the hot pad for my husband’s work. Bowl cozies are a great idea also.
I made full size elk hunting game bags for the guys from Christmas out of bedsheets. The guys all loved them!
You learned us men so well. Keep it up.
“Argylish”...new word. Love it lol! And your ideas are great.
haha :D
Like the ideas. Have already been making pillow cases for all my grandchildren and my husband made a comment that he would like one too, surprised me! Also he has asked me to sew him a workman's carpenter apron.
Ooh an apron is a good one, my mom has made lots of those for the men in our family!
An Apron! Great idea!
Thank You!
I made several of the oversize hot pads, and they turned out great. I didn't have a walking foot, so I had to get one. It's a game-changer! The ideas for men are great also!
Oh good, you will love that walking foot! Also useful for sewing knits :)
Thank you for the ideas. I made a pillow case for my husband from cap't marvel fabric and gave it to him at Christmas. Thank you for your video.
Thanks so very much for the guy gift ideas!! I was stumped!

It seems the plastic used in cups is getting thinner and thinner. You almost have to have a holder to support the cold drinks. Good idea, for sure.
I bought golf fabric for elastic shorts for my husband to wear at the lake
Thanks for the ideas. I went to Etsy and bought two patterns. I'm the type that needs it written in front of me. The coffee sleeve and oversize pad can be for all ages with all the fabrics available. It looks to be simple and quick.
I love the oversized hot mats!
I made pillowcases, hot pads, bowl cozies, and pillows for the men in my life, sports related obviously.
What cool ideas! Thank you! It does give me ideas for a jumpstart for next year. 🤗💕
Thanks for sharing! I have made my husband a sun hat from old denim jeans and he has asked for an apron in denim as well. The other thing I make for him over an over again is t-shirts! He is a big guy and find it hard to find fun t-shirts that fit well.
T-shirts are a great idea! My husband is not big, just tall, so he has a hard time also. Do you have a favorite pattern for them?
@@PinCutSew Well I drafted it myself actually and it wasn’t too difficult. He wanted the sleeves to be more fitted as well so I raised the sleeve head and tried it out as I went. He loves his custom made T-shirts, soo rewarding for me 🥰
Great video on sewing for men! Very helpful!👍
Love the ideas and you guys are nerdy like us 😆🤩
Haha! Nerds unite 💪🏻
All great ideas. I had not thought about this at all. Thanks
I made my husband a flash Drive Holder. Tool fabric.
Super cute idea! Thank You Susan!

How about a simple gift card holder for the men?

The Etsy link didn’t work.

I was in Gastonia (Charlotte are)! But now we live in Kentucky, my husband is Army, we moved in July :)
