Thanks for the excellent video! My Samsung heat pump dryer was starting to take a long time to dry after 2 years of operation. I disassembled the machine, cleaned the inside (*lots* of fuzz) and the heat pump unit (clogged with fuzz too), and reassembled. Took around 4 h total. Now the dryer is working perfectly again. I also noticed that the plastic hinges of the removable fuzz filter at the drum were broken and had gaps in the mesh netting, allowing clothes fuzz to escape to the heat pump and eventually the inside of the machine. Fixed that too. Seems really important that that filter is tight and catches all fuzz.

Thanks for this video, brilliant guide. My 4 year old machine was taking forever to run a cycle so stripped it down per the video. The inside of the cabinet was absolutely full of fluff compared to this machine. What I did rather than remove the heat exchanger unit was use a garden pressure sprayer to wash it down in situ with an aqua vac to collect the water. Seems to have worked well. I didn’t seal with silicone as it’s going to make it much harder to do this again. Thanks again.

I think i'm in the same position as you. How hard is it to put back together once you have cleaned it, any tricky bits. In this video the narration ceases during reassembly. thanks

Wow! thanks for the video, I am going to have to dive in and have a go as my Samsung is not drying efficiently. I used to repair washers and dryers many moons ago, but they were never as complicated as this 😲

On early machines there was a filter screen prior to the condenser units, easy to clean. This is no longer in the new machines hence dry lint/dust covering everything, get a piece of foam people in front, should keep the rear clean

Have this exact same model, with the exact same issue. So I followed your video instructions (and thank you very much for these by the way; I would not have had any clue how to disassemble without coming a cropper!) and opened up the catchment to gain access to the heat exchanger.
Only to have NO fluff or lint buildup whatsoever.
In the absence of any lint, fluff or gunge, what else could be responsible for the lack of drying?

Use a spray hose attachment and a wet vac. Wet vac are quite cheap. Our Samsung gets used so much. Also put some thin foam in front of the bottom left heat exchanger. Catches a lot of lint.

i considered silicone sealing the condensers in my beko hybrid. Instead i bought an extra fluff filter assembly with the sponge filter from another model and it fit perfectly. I bought some fine stainless steel mesh and bam... works brilliantly. The issue with this samsung in the video is it needs an extra fluff filter. The fluff is the issue

Why Silicone? It wasn't there initially and if you need to do that again it would be a hell of a job to strip again? Useful video though.

at 29:40 , yess, you see it too eh. i think, he had to remove the heatcoilsystem again, then put that grey plate there where it should be, and put the coil back to place (sadly, not showed on video or mentionning -so sorry because, everybody can forget something eh, this is for learning and it would be nicer, if it was mentionned ) very fine video further. i learned a lot!

I’ve got same dryer and it turns on you can hear a low humming sound like it would it if was spinning but it will not turn, excellent video on stripping out down I followed this but still cannot find what the issue is. All the belts are order and both side wheels spin, and the drum spins a very little bit is tough

    Hello,
On 11:28 , at the very top you have a plug with two wires red and black. I'm missing that plug. I bought a used dryer from a colleague, and he seems to have forgotten the plug when opening the machine. What is that plug with a red and black wire responsible for? I did everything like you in the video, except I didn't silicone it, does that matter? It still doesn't blow warm air, only towards the end of drying, and it always prolongs the cycle by half an hour, and then in another half hour, everything is not dry again.

Silicon is not a good idea really. It is designed to stay dry and adding that will make it more of a pain to open up again. Also in the damp environment it will rot in a few years.
