Welcome to my little channel! How to enjoy Japanese maples (Acers) is what this channel is all about.
    I discuss:
Selecting the best cultivars (varieties) for your garden
The difference between sedlings and cultivars
Picking the size and shape of tree that’s best for you
    Maples that tolerate full sun
Choose between pots and planting in the ground
    Heat, and wind tolerance
    Where to buy them
How to water and feed your trees
    Pruning
The best locations to grow them
Trips out and about to see new maples and Japanese Gardens
And anything else that viewers find useful
    All comments will be answered!
    Thanks for watching,
    Carl

I have most of mine in a minimum of half a day of unfiltered sun... some even longer. I water them real well though, and they do generally very well. If I get a stretch of 90+ degree days, I might get some leaves burning at the tips, but only on the top branches. The lower branches remain lush.
I especially like how my red plants will get a lot of lush green leaves towards the base of the tree/bush. It is simply amazing how nature tries to find a way to grow!!
    Thanks for sharing.

My Jubilee JM was in morning sun. It’s leaves was getting crisp. Now all the leaf 🍁 has fallen off. What does this mean? I live in zone 7B. I also held back in watering too. Didn’t seem to happy with it. 😢

I always drench my trees until I see bubbles appearing from the compost. I then let them get slightly dry before repeating. This encourages root growth to find water in the spring, so the tree has a great root system ready for summer. Small pot size is also key 👍
