  • This is a series of small videos that will help you getting started fast using Odoo. In this video you will learn how Odoo integrates with your email server and how you can configure Odoo to make your life easier. You can receive emails directly into your CRM pipeline, send emails from your quotes or invoices, receive job applications directly on your Application Tracking System. Just keep in mind, Odoo is not an email reader, so you can't link all your employees mailboxes into Odoo.

    so confusing. Do I create catchall inbox and set in incoming and outgoing server?

      yes correct. Odoo will just use that catchall mailbox to operate.

    does Odoo host the email? or do i need to use a hosting to setup email first?

      hi @Souki If you use Odoo.sh (PaaS) or Odoo online (SaaS) then Odoo will setup an email server for you, if you are self hosted then you need to have your own email server. Also, even being on Odoo PaaS or SaaS you might need your own email server because Odoo email servers might have some limitations on quota

    This is not working on separate odoo server and email server. and try with different sales account. I am trying with odoo 14

      should not be different, problem should be on the email server it self, read carefully the bounce messages some email servers are very demanding

    So this mark@james.local has many aliases as you say, are those aliases created on the mail server side every time you want to associate an alias to a function in Odoo with Odoo's alias? Also what email does your admin account on odoo use, I assume this is also set to mark@james.local? Then for the catchall parameters, you have not set this to mark@james.local yet it is set to catchall@james.local. So is catchall an alias that needs to exist on the mail server side? Is it recommended to have more then one mailbox on the mail server side or can all be done with the one account mark@james.local as long as you set all the aliases on mail server? I'm still confused, I feel like I'm missing something

    You did not create the incomin email account cahtchall. I do not understand. The explanation is incomplete. You speak about a catchall incoming acount , but you dont explain. I am now more confused than before. Thank yoy very much.
